I was at the o2 press conference when MJ announced the tour. When this video was played on the big screen the place went mental!!! I never thought I would get to see him live again, but then he announced the tour. Sadly we then lost the most unique talent. I have been lucky enough to see him live 4 times and have seen each of his solo tours. But what I would give to do it one last time :(
VeikkoVenemies not really. Almost every song was cut to the half of the length. And it's still not clear if this was a LIVE show or just playback like HIStory Tour. I went to several HIStory Shows, the MJ and Friends show in Munich and even visited the 30 years special on September 10th 2001. None of the songs he played on these shows were live. A bit of a dissapointmend if you payed like 600$ for a thrid row ticket.
Yeah, but imagine him singing live while dancing. He would be out of breath and it would sound horrible. For me the dancing, the effects and the stage show as a whole make up for that. From what I can see in the This Is It movie, this would have been great. But I do agree that he should have at least done the songs where he doesn't dance hard live, like Stranger In Moscow and Human Nature. But again, we don't know how much of This Is It would have been playback.
KingCorny93 I don't know what shows you were at, but the Jackson 5 renditions at the 30th anniversary were live from beginning to end, to name just one example. No discussion, Jackson added extensive lip synching to his shows as time went by and later shows were a far cry from say the Bad Tour in the vocal area. But honestly, most of the songs are so 'overproduced' that they simply can't be done live very well and singing does take away from the dancing, especially at age 50. I can only speak for myself, but I would have given everything I own (which admittedly is not that much) to see Michael Jackson live just once. And apparently, enough people to fill the O2 200 times over agreed with me.
KingCorny93 You can always record the song anew to play at live venues and then lip sync. That's what many artists do nowadays when lip synching is frowned upon. You can still tell the difference from real live when watching it on tape, but it's difficult to tell when at the venue.
What a comeback it would have been!!! But we all know what happened!!! Huge loss when this genius left us!!! I have been on his Concert 97!! He was by far the best ever!!
What could've been, the greatest concert tour of all time. The records it was destined to break, the work that was put in, and how much Michael still had to give. Even at 50 years old. It's a real shame, the potential is my had.
Ain't that truth, everyone thought he was dead in the water and the show literally sold out in 58 mintues. I still don't get how the hell I got a front row march 5th 2009 was a literally insane traffic day, and then he broke the damn internet when he passed

I really dont think that there will EVER be any other musician as big as Michael again. He created the modern art of music videos and had such an unique charecter. Today it's just one big marked with alot of rappers and boy bands. Michael will live on forever and so will his music. Im just sad i never got the chance to see him myself. Its a shame that all the negative publicity took away from the fact that Michael Jackson was the greatest solo act of our generation. He controlled an arena like no one else, as every set of eyes was focused on one man, for seemingly miles on end. You can see his passion and the way he is fueled by the crowd, with is always at a fever pitch. His movement was near flawless, as he synced with every note, seemingly becoming one with the music. We lost a true talent on the day he passed. R.I.P.
always gonna wonder what This Is It would have been if things had been different. not only just living to do the first show but no Conrad Murray and had always been at his best. The movie was great but can only do so much to settle my curiosity. Conrad Murrays trial at times revealed a lot of distressing stuff about his condition, the drug side effects etc that wasn't in the movie
Indeed. I posted on another page about the similarities of Michael's last months compared to Elvis. He too was just about to embark on a tour that tickets had been sold out. The true story, correctly cast, told with utter truth, has not to date been shared. Imagine the heartbreaking block busters if studio heads embarked on these REAL stories.
Misty Jacobs I knew something like that about Elvis. his family said he wanted to do a world tour and what could have been his first European tour was being at least in its early planning stages (don't know if that's the same tour you mentioned) when he died
He was preparing to tour US cities. Same old for Elvis. He was tired of touring. Drug induced, and tired of doing the same old material. Anyone who is familiar with Elvis's story knows who the Colonel was. In reality, had technology been available the way it was during Michael's career, their courses would have been identical. And, had it not been for Elvis's one and only handler, he too would have been eaten alive like Michael was by the number of lawyers and managers handling him. Some forget or are not aware that Elvis ovderdosed a teenage girl, with med's, only to be found and revived by his entourage. She was never the same after her revival. There was hush money, and it did not come to light until after his death. It was investigated by the Feds. This was not the only time Elvis had an encounter with an underager, by any stretch. There were many, all illegal. He too could have been considered a pedophile. Rediculous, but the term could have been used. This just touches on the similarities of their personalities, careened paths and demise. Truly sad.
I neglected to mention my main point here. LOL! Claims that Elvis had done some things were proven to be true. Both illegal and immoral (in the eyes of some) Michael on the other hand had basically been proven to be innocent in the gross claims against him. Elvis was known for pulling young girls from his gate into his mansion after seeing them on the security camera, obtained drugs in stashes, traveled with a little black case filled with drugs, slept with underagers. Yet, the Elvis legacy is alive and well, virtually untarnished despite the things he was involved in, then were buried deep. Technology and people like Nancy Grace made sure that Michael was going down for things he had not even done. Even Priscilla Presley had the nerve to turn her nose up at Michael's marriage to Lisa Marie when she had been hidden away at Graceland for nearly six years as Elvis's child mistress.
Misty Jacobs I got no comment to that, nice to hear someone acknowledge Michael was innocent when there still new accusations and fake police reports from when they raided Neverland coming out all the time that's for sure. It probably was another US tour but Priscilla Presley had while accepting a award in his honour at what was called the "UK Music Hall of Fame" (both him and Michael Jackson were inducted with the likes of the Beatles at the first of I think only two shows they did (everyone else was voted in) actually said a unfulfilled life long goal was to do a world tour knowing he had fans worldwide. Hell British fans frequently red flag the fact he only visited England once only to refuel his plane (or whatever it was they said). So I had that in mind when I read what could have been his first European Tour was planned even if just talked about before he died.
Thanks for uploading this. I still can't accept MJ is gone. It's amazing that MJ would have been preparing to go to London, after his suprise performance for VIP MJ fans at the Staples Center. Instead a memorial service for MJ will be held there. I can't believe he would have started his concerts on July 8th, and his memorial service at the Staples Center is being held on July 7th.
Seeing this video makes me just that much sadder cuz all I keep thinking about is that he is suppose to be out there in London right now as we speak, performing. Not be where he is now. I always wished he was there instead of here, gone FOREVER! Damn Mike, WHY?
Michael....1 year ago i was watching this. You always will trhiller us in a way that anyone in any period will ever be able to. You are an inspiration for any generation. You are magic! You are love! You are genius!!! i could go on and on. RIP - that's all for L.O.V.E. and love lives forever

This little chunk of time between the announcment of the shows and 25th June was so exciting to me. MJ fever had spread across the world!! I could not believe it when i had a text saying i was in the presale!! When i got the tickets i was soooo hyped. I was finally going to see my idol!!! Maybe it was too good to be true eh? :( Love you MJ. Was, Is and Always will be the KING!
how sad is it that it would have started the day after his funeral.....that was an awesome ad and certainly made me want to go see it. RIP michael, you were awesome
a standing ovation to the african race. MJ was an african american and a great man. To me he was a pharaoh for his, my and ur generation . He was a king and now he's sitting next to his father THE KING of all people. Rest in peace. He's spirit is free and watching over us.
I can still remember the excitement of just receiving a text message about being in the pre-sale! What a wonderful feeling it was when I finally purchased my ticket £75. Such a shame these concerts never took place 😢
To me he never needed a comeback, any music from him was great...he was always famous, loved and supported by fans, no one ever replaced him even after 8 or 9 years he didnt do tours....HE IS the King of all music. not just POP!
only Michael can get away with a 3 1/2 minutes commercial ad for his concert...i just hate that he didnt live long enough to make his amazing comeback, cuz I know it was gonna be amazing!!! all the greats die before they do something big!
Michael Jackson we want you...you are the king of pop..I love you❤❤❤❤❤and now in our generation Justin Bieber is there...but you are still in our heart... you can be compenset with the Michael Jackson only
i m going yes jippie finally after 30 and more yrs of fandom i ll see michael in london thnks to those fans who sold me the tickets for the normal price
when i got my ticket i was delirious..i couldnt believe that i was going to see first hand the gratest show in concert history, every time i saw these ads on tv i had a surge of excitement run through me, knowing that each day was a day closer. ive still got my ticket, framed, taking pride of place on my living room wall, i wouldnt sell it for a million.

He never saw July.
always gonna wonder what This Is It would have been if things had been different. not only just living to do the first show but no Conrad Murray and had always been at his best.
The greatest concert that never happened. RIP MJ. We miss you ❤
Seeing this video makes me just that much sadder cuz all I keep thinking about is that he is suppose to be out there in London right now as we speak, performing.

I always wanted to see MJ ❤ it's so sad that he passed away. There will never be another Michael Jackson, you will always be the number one ❤
I had tickets for 10 shows. I miss him, everyday.
Rest in peace michael. I have never seen someone influence the world like this.
