- Wow! Join me for the very first use of our Bushwhacker MD-144 12 foot Batwing mower. (Bushwhacker aka bushwacker) Of course, keeping to Kapper Outdoors traditions, we sure did NOT start out with something 'light' or 'easy' to break in the new Bushwhacker Batwing mower! Nope, I took this thing to the nastiest task imaginable for a 'medium duty' batwing mower! Of course I really did not plan it this way, my friend had something to do with that. So, I owed my friend Justin Mason, from Whitetail Properties a favor... And he told me it was just some 'light' mowing of some 'lightly overgrown' fields on an illinois deer hunting lease... YEAH RIGHT JUSTIN!!! Well, you'll have to join me to see the whole story but I think after this video you will agree that the Bushwhacker brand, made in the USA, really proved its worth on this 35 acre mowing task! And since I owed him the favor, even when I showed up and saw some of the 'mildly overgrown' fields, I decided to really put the Bushwhacker batwing to task and mow it all down! I could have turned down some of the really heavy overgrown stuff because he had a skid steer with a heavy brush cutter available, but since I agreed to the task, I was going to really test out this Bushwhacker MD-144! Join me for my first day on the new mission and lets enjoy some great outdoors, some DJI phantom 4 pro drone videos, some great GoPro videos and see just how the Bushwhacker mower did! Oh, and I forgot to mention, you can win a free Bushwhacker hat on this video and more coming in the future. Just watch the video to see how you can enter. BUSHWHACKER
I enjoy the videos keep up the great work.
Thank you we appreciate it
Nice bush hog brother! You're going to save a LOT of time with that bad boy!
Though you love them to the death. Friends can get you into more problems than anyone else. Yet it will leave lasting memories that you will talk about and laugh everytime it is brought up in the discussion.
LOL, yeah, that sure can be true! But as long as I didn't break anything, its all good!
Nice BUSHWHACKER job!
Looks like fun Joe
BUSHWACKER. Great video.
BUSHWACKER I like all the videos :)
Great videos
BUSHWHACKER, nice work cutting all that down
Roger that, thanks.
Looks like the BUSHWHACKER has earned Kapper's seal of approval!
Doug@ trh "ranch"
Interesting video as always!!!
Thank you!
BUSHWHACKER great cutter.
That is some heavy mowing. The Branson seems to work right through the brush with out loading up.
Yeah that Branson didn't even cough. That thing is a beast! And that was wet ground, sludging 3500 lbs, dead weight, mostly only on the 2 center tires sinking in the ground, uphill, and that Branson didn't bat an eye... Very impressive.. thanks.
BUSHWHACKER an Megatron just takin it in hes stride great job 👍💪💪
Nice BUSHWHACKER
Kapper if your going to be doing a lot of brushogging like this you may want to weld up a guard of expanded metal you can put on your 3pt to protect the rear of your tractor. I have seen a lot of broken windows and they are not cheap!
Good idea, not sure when I can get to it. But you are right man, the Branson took a beating for sure!!! thanks.
Dropping a LIKE on your video, Watching and Supporting! That thing would make fast work of that "formerly" overgrown field I had been working on!
Bushwhacker baby!
BUSHWHACKER good job.
BUSHWHACKER how’s that?!?! Enjoyed the video
LOL Roger that man!
Nice video. BUSHWHACKER
Question. I noticed you used a 45hp tractor in that 12’ batwing. Do you think my 65hp tractor would handle the 15’ bushwacker batwing ?
BUSHWHACKER. Thanks Kapper
Just a bit of information might help when I was doing scrub clearance I only took on half the width o the machine an when I came to the end o the run turn an go back the way u came again takin half width an that way any scrub that was kinna pushed flat on previous pass goes into machine head first, as I say just something I found worked for me in my situation 🤔👍👍
Are you still happy with this cutter? I'm looking at one now. Is it street legal tow on the road behind a truck?
Yes it is a good mower. I can't answer the street legal part. There are a lot of variables for that. Thanks
Are you creating stobbs to pop your tires?
Looks like the rear of the mower could be lowered a bit more. It would leave a better finish and would prevent extra passes.
The Branson can't handle it all the way down. Notice he is only using half of it anyways.
@@js2743 The tractor can easily handle that all the way down.
@@pedrobatista4439 I doubt it, it's weak doesn't have enough power.
@@js2743 So 78 HP Cummins is not enough? lol. That tractor can handle that thing all the way in the ground like it was nothing. More than enough power for sure.
@@pedrobatista4439 you're crazy, it can't run the machine you see he can only cut half and has to run it in the up position at that.
What a beast. Add a new set of blades to the buddy price because He would have paid double your rate.
BushWhacker thumbs up.
Did u ever get your ranger ? We love your videos. How are yall doing?
Not yet, it is all ordered and paid for! The dealer has it now, getting parts this week on Wed for the upgrades! Soon! Thanks.
Bushwhacker ,seems like it wants to pick up debris on the ends ? love the vids man, keep them coming.
yeah it does, but I'm learning it yet and I think it needs some different adjustments. thanks.
Bushwhacker gets it done.
how has the bushwacker been holding up
Still working and cutting grass. Haven't had it out for awhile.
He still says good things about the bush whacker. His plans are to upgrade to the Rhino.
Bushwhacker like it
Bushwacker!!!! BUSHWACKER!!!
BUSHWHACKER good luck everybody
Bushwhacker!
Kapper....just saw your license plate...mine is 64 .Semper Fi. When were you in? I'm class of 64-68.
hoorah, Semper Fi! I was late 80's early 90's!
What RPM are you running on the tractor with this unit?
Mostly at the PTO rpm, I think it is like 2200 or 2300. But if it is light cutting I will run it lower to save fuel.
BUSHWHACKER. 👍👍
Bushwhacker 👍
How long did it take to do 60 acres?
Honestly that was a few years ago so I don't really recall, sorry. Thanks though.
@@kapperoutdoors how about a rough estimate guess

BUSHWANKER
BUSHWHACKER Hope I win one.
I was disappointed with the quality because there are a lot of those Twiggy weeds and saplings they got in correctly cut. Not the fault of the operator. I’ve been doing this professionally for years and sometimes vegetation just doesn’t but it’s always disappointing with a new mower that it doesn’t cut perfectly.
BUSHWHACKER
bet the kubota would have pulled it easier lol!!!😃😃😜
Bush hog does a fine job but I wouldn't have that Branson I've already had one(4720h) and it was a piece of crap!!
I couldn't get them to fix it after three months I finally took it back to them.
The tractor had 240 hours on it...
the front end was soweek that when you went across a ditch or terrace it would twist the radiator fan into the Stroud the tractor was also jumping out of gear..if you were loading the tractor on the trailer or you were going up a hill and you let the bucket down on the front end loader it would blow the fluid out the back which is a poor design on them...
The front end loader if you are lifting it does great but when you go to dig in the dirt the bucket will bend and twist and the front end loader will also twist... They told me that I was using the tractor for something it was not meant to be used for!!
I had a tc29d New Holland I've also had a couple of John a a 2610 long and now I have a 3550 Mahindraand I have never had any of these problems before out of the front end loaders or jumping out of gear or the front end twisting and the radiator fan hitting shroudonly had these problems with the Branson tractor!!
You just needed a 6 foot if you're only going to use half of it.
