- There is a new DC tv show out now on DC universe and CW Network called Stargirl. Go checkout if you are interested. This is the introduction of Justice Society of America fighting Injustice Society in which they lose and marks the end of Golden Age of Heroes. JSA is group of Starman, Hourman, Wildcat, Doctor Mid-Nite, Jay Garrick and more. While Injustice Society has Brainwave, Tigress, Sportsmaster, Icicle and others. This is the pilot Episode. Lets see where they go from here.

One thing I like: They're actually using their superhero names. Like, very few shows do that anymore. Stripesy consistently refered to them by their hero names when he could just as easily call them by their real names.
Kind of annoying that he was constantly using the power of name exposition though

What's weird is that Stripsey doesn't age from then to the time Courtney grows up. His power must be being Paul Rudd.

Wellllll in all fairness for this particular instance a name exposition character is actually warranted since a LOT of these guys are pretty old school/obscure

@@ryanbarefoot7194 that does not mean that the makers of the show need to spoon feed the audience. These sort of shows repeatedly insult their fans by pointing out how stupid and/or incapable of doing research they are. A lot of the fans don’t even realize it!
@@HabitualJoker Yeahhh you shouldn’t have to do research except for finding easter eggs. Like i said there are timew where it’s acceptable. People will on average not know who these characters are. So yes it makes sense to point out the name of each character. Its not spoon feeding, its a reasonable assumption and acting on it comsidering these names are gonna be important later on.
The simple fact that starman took on all of them AND NEARLY WON really shows how serious starmans temporary plot armor really was.
How is it plot armor?
I want to know how Fate, The Flash, and GL (Alan Scott) were defeated/killed.

wildcat is severely outgunned in most situations, dude is one of the best fighters in the dc universe, but facing brainwave icicle the wizard solomon grundy is asking a bit much...at least arrow had a long dist weapon and tech... wildcat must of been a bad ass
I’m a big fan of any superhero who has literally nothing but their fists. The original Atom was like that. Just a short guy who could really throw a punch.

I hope they do better than that disrespect version in Flash, I'm disappointed the the arrowverse for not using him as a season long antagonist/or anti hero. He's just as if not more powerful then the flash.

I kept screaming at the screen for the more powerful JSA members to show. Where’s Dr Fate? Spectre? Johnny Thunder? Where was Alan Scott? Did he get beaten by Grundy? If so does that mean Jade and Obsidian won’t appear? I was a huge fan of the Golden Age heroes so this scene nearly had me in tears.

Alan Scott was there, the green fire is from him.
Johnny Thunder died and the pen is going to someone else in season 2, Jade will be in season 2 and Geoff Johns confirmed Obsidian will show up, but who knows when.
I have no idea what happened to Fate and Spectre.

He's my favorite JSA member. Sad he hasn't gotten much exposure. Same with Johnny Thunder. I like Jakeem but I love Johnny and I hope he comes back in the comics.
Love that you clearly see the shade participating in this battle but the only scene of him is brief and just a show of his powers nothing more, can't wait for him next season.
Ted Grant never gets any respect. Dude is a total badass yet the writers keep making him a punching bag.
Seeing this for the first time watching the show made me think this show truly will be BADASS.

I would have loved to see The Flash, Green lantern and Dr Fate here too, but I guess there wasn't really a way to fit them in
JSA would have won with those additions
I thought this scene was dope AF! One thing I didn't like was how outclassed the Justice Society of America was. The Injustice society has some heavy hitters, but so does the JSA! Green Lantern, Flash, Dr. Fate, Hawkman, etc. And I want to see the whole fight! I want to see what happened with Sandman, Wildcat, and Dr. Midnight. I still like the scene, I just don't believe it would be that one sided.
Sandman got killed by icicle, Dr. Mid-Nite got captured by The Shade, and Wildcat most likely got launched by brainwave or Grundy . But yeah they gotta release the whole fight!!
It was probably a sneak attack. The JSA were overwhelmed before they could assemble.

It's explained by starman that killing bruce gordon caused a rift between them and things weren't the same. And they weren't what they use to be after it happened. Basically the morale of the JSA died with bruce gordon.
If the Legion of Doom ever make it to the big screen. They gotta lot to live up to against the ISA. Like they massacred everyone this night.

Like I’m gonna believe none of the JSA survived. Batman would wipe the floor with all of them, how could an entire team lose? Especially with members like Flash, Green Lantern, Dr. Fate, Hawkman, Hawkgirl, etc.
Did we see them die? Don't think so, they got teleported away by shade or Grundy and Dragon King were dealing with them
With season 2 coming I really hope a few of them are revealed to be alive and in hiding somewhere. It did say Shade betrayed them and he is in season 2, maybe he transported a couple of them somewhere? I also hope we see Sandy Hawkins, we know the original Sandman is dead because his body was by the stairs, but Sandman is personally my favorite JSA member and even just seeing his legacy (Sandy) would be cool.
Also we know Brainwave killed Johnny Thunder, Hawkman, and Hawkgirl, apparently Pat said this ( I don't remember him saying that but it was confirmed by some people on RUclips). I believe Icicle killed Sandman. I doubt Doctor Fate died but if he did it would have to be a combined effort of all the ISA. Same with Green Lantern and Flash. However I believe Green Lantern and Flash are alive.
Jennie said in episode 2 that her father left the ring for her, how could he do this if he died fighting the ISA? I think he survived and left the ring for her. Now we know however that Jennie absorbs the energy without a ring, so maybe Alan can come out of hiding and get the ring. Maybe, since we don't know where Todd (Obsidian) is, Alan could have Todd with him?
Jay is almost definitely alive, he's gonna be in episode 9 played by John Wesley Shipp. Where he's been this whole time? Who knows.
Starman is alive, or at least as far as we know he is.
Doctor Mid-Nite is alive, I know it. In the first episode and episode 3 (S2), the AI on the goggles didn't sound like an AI. It sounded like a real human being, and he didn't know who Beth was. Shade probably transported him somewhere through the shadow realm instead of killing him.
Hourman is dead, Grundy killed him. I prefer Rex but Rick will carry on his legacy.
Wildcat has nine lives. I think he got hit out of the roof by Grundy. We dot even know for sure if he died as we was clearly alive when Pat went down to see if he was ok. Pat left him there for some reason but even if he died, like I said, he has nine lives.
Hawkman and Hawkgirl definitely died imo, though I think they will definitely reincarnate. I dont think will see them anytime soon though.
I wonder if Atom (Al Pratt) was ever on the team, if he was he probably died before the picture was taken, or he left. If he simply left he can join the new team, if he died they can introduce his legacy, Atom Smasher.
I also wonder if we will see Spectre show up ever, since Eclipso is the main villain this season. If he doesn't show up, Doctor Fate will. There's no way the current team can fight Eclipso by themselves.
@@dakotatrue12 damn right on the money, shade saved doctor midnight. the flash showed up in a flashback played by the og from the flash series, he didnt want to be involved with the jsa and probably left at the heat of battle into the speed force since the actor is planned to return. starman is definitely alive in present day. and i think at the very least doctor fate and spectre are around

Well I know that they're going to do more with the original JSA because Joel McHale is listed for 13 episodes, but hot damn that opening fight was awesome. You know I wonder if Starman really was Courtney's father now.
I don't think DC will do the OG storyline of Courtney biological father where he was the leader of a gang. My theory is they'll have Starman as her biological father Pat felt guilty of not keeping Courtney's father safe so he went n told Courtney's mom he ended falling in love with her.

@@Krypton853 Story wise I don't think Starman being Courtney's father fits, but on a comical level I can see that being something Joel McHale would want. I can see him negotiating for that like okay my character dies but totally roasts his sidekick in his last moments, but then the sidekick gets my girl and is a better father than me. Total middle finger to me, big smiles.

I’m so sad that this show was cancelled, imagine more flashbacks like this with doctor fate, hawkman and hawkgirl and sandman! It would’ve been so awesome, but I have faith in James Gunn.

The villains on this show are way more interesting than most of the other dc shows,feels way more epic than those god awful crossovers the flash used to do with other shows,that and they really double down on the fact that the isa and jsa are opposing enemies,that and they do a really good job fleshing out both sides!
So you know that one scene you watch over and over because it was spectacular? This scene is one of those. Kinda like the BvS warehouse
0:49 looking back now with what we know from season 2 this hits different. We thought Doctor Midnite was killed by The Shade but he was actually trapped in the Shadow Realm as shown in season 2 when Beth was able to communicate with him through his glasses

They were an organized team but in season 2 it really shows how they were a divided team, and thats what got most of them killed

We saw flash’s hat and I’m assuming icicle was fighting green lantern before he shot the icicle because if you slow it down you can see him Breaking through his constructs

Travis Touchdown Potentially- Although I fear that Spectre didn’t exist on this version of the team. There was only one Spectre for the entire Multiverse in the TV versions, and considering Stargirl is Arrowverse Earth 2, it would be weird if there was another Spectre- but possible, it could be that there’s one just for Earth 2 now that the new multiverse was formed.

it was a world where Superman went by Kal-L, and he grew wiser beyond his years, he could run faster than a speeding bullet, he was more powerful than a locomotive, he was leaping tall buildings in a single bound, eventually managing to fly a high as his body could take him
a world where Batman married Catwoman, had a daughter named Helena Kyle, she grew up, became the Huntress, Batman died happily
a world where Dick Grayson never saw himself as a shadow of Bruce Wayne, one where he was the only Robin, one where he was always Robin
and I could not be happier seeing it done justice

It was revealed in season 2 the JSA had killed Eclipso’s host Bruce Gordon and that decision caused the JSA to split up, they only regrouped for this fight and weren’t acting as a team which caused there downfall.

There's no way Sportsmaster and Tigress are normal humans if they can contend with Hourman. Hourman defeated Grundy. Two different characters but exact same powers.
Edit: well, let me reword. They can contend with him, but the fact that Tigress took like two direct hits if I recall and she was still standing. She should've been smashed to death, that or at least on the ground across the room.
At 2:03 it clearly shows icicle was trapped by Alan Scott in a green bubble or something because you see that green flame surrounding him, so either he got out killed Alan and that's how he was able to shoot the icicle or he was coming in through a wall. I don't know...

No, The CW is just airing the show too.
It's a DC Universe (streaming service) project, that's why the big budget.
But now Season 2 will totally be on The CW.

Which Star man is this?
Sylvester Pemberton, who in the comics started the superheroics at a young age as Star-Spangled Kid and continued as Skyman.
He was never Starman on the comics, but because of legal issues with the Jack Knight character (is not owned by DC but his creator, James Robinson) this is the second live action project where they made him a composite of Jack.
On Smallville they did the same, he looked like Jack (with the leather jacket and goggles) but it was Sylvester with the cosmic staff, and also died at the hands of Icicle (albeit it was Junior).
