    I was there in Maymaneh as an Apache Helicopter Crew Chief, with the fine soldiers of Norway, I was so proud to work with them and feel that they were our brothers and sisters in arms and will forever be grateful for that experience. - A U.S. Soldier.

    As an American and a Marine, I would like to apologize for the fried rice. We used to harden it in the sun and put it in sandbags for extra protection from small arms fire.

    Veldig stolt av å være norsk når jeg ser hvordan guttene våre håndterer strid. Rolige,besluttsomme og fokusert på kampen de står opp imot. Takk for innsatsen!

    It's sooo funny...*NORWAY's MJK rocked! and, as I remember I had heard it, so did the Poles' GROM!* Just from what I was told by a handful of long-time high school bros who joined the USMC as part of the Force Recon community, apparently just temp, then left and/or transferrred to USN and graduated NSW's BUD/S (and they were all scrawny little pricks like me too! f--kin' gnarly) & passed, then cycled a few times thru OIF 1/2 etc runnin' w/ GROM like ALL THE TIME apparently (guess they were thick as thieves) and same w/ Norway's infamous FSK+MJK. *These assholes were just plain bad ass apparently too (always amazing shooters apparently, also!).* A buddy of mine was smoked after a few miles one morning while at somehwere called J-Bad, and all the while, on the dawn runs, these gnarly, ferocious fuckers somehow could run in ten below IN THE SNOW, LITERALLY, WITH NO SHIRT AND A CIG HANGING OUT THEIR MOUTH AS THEY WOULD JUST PT themseves to death daily more than imaginable!!!!!! *ALL THE TIME AT DAWN, starting these long runs w/no shirt (again, only shorts and fuckin sandals!! + a freshly lit cig, a smile and not a peep of weezing etc!
    Just Nords and Poles with Cali frog kids, cursing while just blastin' thru 5-10K! JEEEEEEZUS CHRIST!

      God, I couldn't do that shit for a million $ if I practiced..Luckily, a former Unit member, John lets call him, who had been at TF Green (and Orange as I recall as he was a real wiz...i don't own a smart device, still got the flip phone because i dislike the idea of addiction happening to me with ANY type of social media. RUclips is ok..thats about it. I have a FB account, but for business as an IC and author only....Guess what I'm saying the long way is, is that I was very lucky to have an amazingly big-hearted tutor to get me thru the harder courses at TITANGROUP (they sent us to SOTIC!! Yes! I mean come on...No one's going to pass that w/out SOME bolt gun exp or something I'd think but because of John...well...). So I passsed the PTs, the CQC houses, the differently arranged PSD scenarios where they blare loud noise, and you're in a TIC you can't bound back out of, and you just have to hope to hell that last two mags of simunition holds out!! LOL...But in a way I learned soooo very much about PEOPLE. We go to Mexico, a place I'd practically grown up in as a San Diego/Chula Vista border skateboard rat, so I became the default 'terp for the RATTLR team's AT (Advance Team or really, just plain clothes and doing a CTR-kinda deal, or a very close OW (like at the furthest, I had my SPR at MAYBE, JUST MAYBE 500m and connected decent groups on runners that had a REAL good head start. That was actually how I feel I earned any respect at all...here's this pansy ass artist/author/musician kid who looks 19 (but in his early thirties) and boom! I'm the 2 man on a breach w/ Federales looking at me like "are you nuts kid? Did you listen to the brief? We got like about two dozen Zetas in this structure, top to BOTTOM....no NODs, no high end flashlight either. Just your wits i guess...Anyways, horn tooting aside (as that's all I'm proud to have done is to work with Unit guys, friends, learn new skills, be helpful and even be an Eagle Scout as a kid to top it off!! LOL...
      *Being beyond the def of the words "nucking futs" lol, my other NAVSPECWAR buddies (some EOD, some frogs and SWCC too, most from ST3 or 5) took that time with me to hone my skils even more once i left in '09 right before we started losing guys....There was straight anarchy in Noglaes and Juarez, even the quasi-less dirty Monterrey, and by the time they ALL were done with me, it was ALL autopilot and mechanical. You'd dump 'em, call it as you changed out during your peel depending how open a space the fight would be (NO, I have never killed a human being face to face in a room clearing....Closest has been a few dozen silhouttes on rooftops at night on our way home. Point being, I'd shit myself later, while they'd smile, hug me and gave me more pride than you can ever imagine.....I owe it to them, and to YOU GUYS IN NORWAY!!! THANK YOU!! Your help at SOTIC, your help with the MGL Tear Gas course and your help ESPECIALLY w/ the psychological mind games you freak yourself out with when clearig dens where beheadings and toddlers lay on the floor dead for a month with barbed wire wrapped around their poor hands and feet...I mean,, sorry to be graphic but I now take anxiety medication as since I nkow I don't have PTSD, I do know I get panic attacks where I puke my guts out in the middle of he nightl. I can only imagine this life minus the help of friends here and from Norway, South Africa, Denmark, and even Mexico itself....I mean, give the Nord's due credit...THEIR ENTIRE NSW's MJK/FSK community, I would hear about much later on, was that they just plain, straight up fuckin fearless FOR REAL...not courageous by itself or just ONLY, but trained to a sharpness that would make a scalpel seem useless.
      My apologies for the loooong annoying tangent. I never said this out loud before really. I really did end up getting trained really well w/ tons of unique capbilities, again.... knowingly afraid, but just knowing i may let someone down was enough worth dying for....110%. I mean again, outside of the fact that Stan McChrystal thinks they are BEYOND his own Tier 1 SMUs in some cases just says it all...like the SAS in the book TF Black who went out even when they weren;t invited...But stayed on just a simple staphanger w/ my cheap little DPMS AR w/Aero AR parts to make it as modular as possible (I would ONLY EVER RUN .308 or 7.62mmx51 upper/lower etc, OR that new GEMTECH INTEGRA using zero 300 BLK and only either 77 Gr Black Hill OR that amazing new M855A1!! They were brutal. John and myself both put two-to-three during a very very very brief TIC and those new Army rounds just drop dudes with some hard bark on 'em. Even in the throat....My god. Anyways, I hate talking about this much and, when it was that moment of truth I keyholed em, re-indexed my offset irons if needed, and bang, movin on....thats it. John he neever counted but it would tell me bits and pieces of times in places we "are never in" like El Savaldor or Veneula's more paramilitary-ridden trash holes.
      JEEZUS...lol. I was a broke author that was writing a book about my ex-frog pals' exploits in Mex and Honduras etc, and once two were KIA in the same week Feb 2006. I set a goal w/ our buddies who'd left the frogs to let their knees heal a bit, take a break, and we'd have fun. We would alll scedule together at a private security firm called TITANGROUP (all of us, even the former JSOC dudes who came out after 20+ yrs, still willing to come slum with us and go out hitting w/us and other former Unit dudes, and those SMU pipe-hitters were just big teddy bears at heart. They saved my life many times. ANYWAYS again i am sorry.....I was on the phone with none other than Johns older brother (who was a Lt Cmdr at ST10 i think) and had been speaking with PMCs pulled back to their NAVSPECWAR groups I geuss? I dont how it all works regionall in the world. either Team 3 or 8 (idk) and apparently they had returned from Beirut doing FID with Saudis?? IDK...and then, BOOM, they are in multiple HEAVY as hell sized TICS in DRC, CAR, Haiti . I adamantly folllow opsec but it;s open source now....and allowed me to write about it (as I recall) and I just count my lucky stars I don't have to keep doing the PSD with L-3 Comms smaller element RATTLR= Rapid
      Asymmetric Tactics & Training and Lead Repsons Teams (i was an author at the time about doing several years --between 06-09--in Mexico (Nogales/La Paz/Juarez on a very few occasions as we did mainly vehicular PSD stuff basically, and once i certified and passed TITANGROUP's courses. Man oh man...i can't stop laughing about those South Africans....crazy nutjobs

      Brillene vi brukte hadde to funksjoner, det ene var å roe ned lyset. Ørkensolen er sterk og plagsom! I tillegg var de svært sterke og beskyttet i noe grad mot splinter, sand, grus som kom flyvende. Så det var ikke for å se kule ut :)

    • @EspenMoe357
      @EspenMoe357 5 лет назад +3

      "Nye" våpen påvirkes like mye av forholdene. Sand kryper inn over alt, og selv med rikelig våpenolje i mekanismene risikerer man funksjoneringsfeil.

    • @rotormann
      @rotormann 4 года назад +1

      Alf Gjelsvik Ørkenkriging. Det var et problem med sand i våpnene våre. MG-3n du ser på det tidspunktet du nevner var veldig pålitelig. Fra snutten du ser er dette fra tredje døgnet i skyttergrav, og vanskelig å holde alle våpnene i gang etterhvert.
