NOTE: If you ever find it difficult to get all your nutrition from food due to leading a busy life or a lack of time, supplementation is an option. Just like bodybuilders supplement with protein shakes to make life easier, there are meal drinks and supplements you can get to make your life easier too. Your local supermarket, pharmacy or online stores will stock this kind of thing, and remember there's nothing wrong with supplements. Drinking a vegan protein shake is better than funding the horrors of animal agriculture

    • @davidramms
      @davidramms 6 месяцев назад +11

A phone is all you need! You could start out with Shorts and Reels, 30-60 second videos
Record yourself talking about why to go vegan, use a free app like CapCut to edit and add captions, then you're ready to post
The more you do it the better you'll get, and when you get good at it you could move on to longer videos, what do you think?

10 years vegan now but unfortunately prior to that I worked as a slaughterhouse/ag inspector for 15 years. I followed my family into this kind of job. It wasn’t till about 10-11 years ago that I heard of the word vegan I tried it didn’t die and the rest is history. The odds where stacked against me but had I known it would have been a no brainer. So if I can do it anyone can.
I now spend most if not all of my days advocating for animal rights. Being vegan is simple just look at it from the victims perspective. It’s really a non action replacing a small portion of a plate with beans, legumes, broccoli or whatever .. 🥦🌱

A couple-plus decades ago when it was hardly talked about, you didn't get bashed for being vegan. People were curious when I told them. But now that it's so popular it's become a threat to many. It's a trade-off because it's now 100 times easier to find vegan food & clothes etc. There's also lots of footage to get others to see like Dominion. All they had back in '80s/'90s was The Animals Film (1981) and Hidden Crimes (1986), which convinced me.

Yep. Well-rounded knowledge helps. When you know about zoonotic diseases, USDA and FDA laws and reports about how diseased the animals are and what they're legally allowed to be fed, health, environment, and antibiotic resistance it becomes impossible for someone other than the most apathetic and immoral person to keep eating animals.

@@suicune2001 There's food poisoning from bacteria like salmonella and e coli from eating meat, dairy and eggs that can kill you, that's a fact.. Then there's the filthy conditions of factory farms that create "bird flu" among the birds. But don't get that confused with what's being pushed as "zoonotic" diseases - the idea that something can jump from an animal to a human. Not only is it an unproven theory but it has resulted in the culling of millions of animals like bats, stray dogs, etc. Let's just call it what it is - food poisoning.

A really useful video! I always thought going vegan would be virtually impossible, so while I sympathised with it and respected vegans, it was never going to be for me, despite my on/off relationship with vegetarianism (it always felt like an inconvenience to others, and I spent too much time worrying about what others thought). I went mostly plant based first for health, then environment, and soon found it was easy to live a full and healthy life without exploiting and killing animals. I then found Earthling Ed and saw what the animals really went through and knew I would never go back. Im now vegan for over 4 years and do street activism. I'd love to have seen a video like this early in my journey. We all make mistakes, just learn from them and keep going. Dont let the perfect be the enemy of the good, live vegan 💚

I went Vegan because before Kindergarten I observed a family's children skinning a mountain lion they killed only to get its Leather coat. Also, heard the Pigs my Filthy Rich Grandmother had in her Estate back property get killed violently each time they wanted to throw a party! Also, watched two of my loved chickens that were given as a gift to me by my Aunt (poor and humble side of family) be killed because they were VERY unusually large chickens- ONLY cause my Narcissists Father promised my Chickens (they were not pets, they were FAMILY to me) to his disgusting family for Chicken Soup for a hang out at their Ranch, he didn't care that I loved them and that those Chickens loved me more than my Narcissists Father himself AND his ignorant filthy rich family combined. He even had my Mom force me to drink chicken soup and to consume some chicken flesh at the Goddamn Ranch hangout! Also, I've always been a loyal, kind, honest, and a loving person, so I'm naturally compassionate and suffer the pain of being compassionate unlike the commonfolk (which tbh, I've only been made fun of and outcasted by the common folk for this). When I got a job with a work permit at age 15 in High School I became vegetarian and was vegetarian for over a decade, then I went Vegan as the lifestyle choice I knew I'd eventually take since the first time I heard of it being made fun of by people that also made fun of me wanting to be Vegetarian when I was only a child in early grade school. Being Vegan is non-negotiable for me, because I must be Vegan to truly be ME, which is the ONLY person I could be and EVER want to be!

And be the preachy vegan! The slow/long game is not effective - these animals are dying! It's not a mere diet or personal choice!

Don't listen to those people promising it will be so easy. It isn't easy for everyone, it's OK to find it hard.
Don't be discouraged if you slide back into old habits. Some quit cold turkey (pun intended) for others the journey is more varied. Eating some animal products is understandable, just keep trying.
Don't be put off by self-righteous vegans pompously berating you if you fail. Those sanctimonious *ssholes are a blight on the community.
Don't feel compelled to now also engage in activism or debate. It isn't obligatory, don't let anyone guilt you into doing more than you want.
Don't engage with meat trolls. If you do fall into that trap, never confess any weakness or vulnerability, they are rarely reasonable or genuine and will use your genuine vulnerability as mockery. You have to face those cowards down like dogs, not a backwards step or sign of weakness.
Do research on what to eat. It takes time to learn and develop good eating habits. It's hard to track it (with chronometer or some other app) but it's great as a learning tool until yoy figure stuff out.

Nor have I my entire life (I'm in my 60s, been vegan 26 years) It was patented by Merck in 1948 as a replacement for the raw cow’s liver that allegedly treated “pernicious anemia," a rare autoimmune disorder. It’s made in drug labs using antibiotics like streptomycin and neomycin made from genetically engineered bacteria.
The tests for B12 only detect synthetic forms, not the actual beneficial bacteria that exists naturally in a healthy human gut. It does not come from dirt, feces or contaminated water like you’re told.

You asked for a comment so here it is, though I don't have an "inspiring story".
I went pescatarian (someone who doesn't eat meat unless it came from a fish or shellfish) on my 25th Birthday in May of 2018. For a while leading up to that day I'd been thinking about how it doesn't seem fair that I would kill so many animals over my lifetime just for the meals I ate. However I didn't go vegan or vegetarian as I was afraid of giving up things I liked and also because I was concerned about protein and nutrition. I was uncomfortable from the start though. My decision, even though it was my own, made no sense to me. Fishes were animals too, so why would I continue to eat them? And what about the cows and chickens farmed for the dairy and eggs I was still consuming, didn't they matter as much as the cows and chickens I had stopped eating? After just a few months I bit the bullet, and went vegan. Immediately I felt better.
There was so much to learn at first. Clothing, entertainment, cosmetic testing, medical testing. So many ways animals were harmed, exploited, and abused that I didn't necessarily think of before. Also there was learning about where I was getting all my nutrition, something I'd never even thought about as a carnist but that (due to animal ag propaganda) I felt a bit concerned about. I started by interacting with other vegans, first on reddit and RUclips and later Facebook. I learned so much about veganism and animal rights this way. Actually living vegan was super easy. Perhaps many years ago being vegan was inconvenient, but for me where I live the transition was effortless. You may make a couple of mistakes at first, just make sure you learn from them.
Once I had enough confidence in myself I became more outspoken about animal rights and everyone's moral obligation to live vegan. It's important to not just be vegan but to encourage others to go vegan as well, that's how we'll create a better world. So that's what I'd want new vegans to keep in mind - get comfortable first, then make yourself a bit uncomfortable by speaking to non-vegans about the issues surrounding animal ag and the harm they're causing. Not everyone will react kindly to you, but don't get discouraged. You've at least planted some seeds as they say, and that's often all you can do. Just keep an eye on those seeds and some might grow and surprise you. They did for me.
So yeah, boring story, but thank you David and everyone else who decides to live vegan in a predominantly non-vegan world. You're doing great.

Data from Tata Labs revealed that nearly 76% of the Indian population suffers from vitamin D deficiency, so the sun is not enough, even for people living in tropical regions.
Nutritional yeast does not produce nor have any B12 in it naturally, any B12 in it has had to have been supplemented from the same sources as that in actual supplements. Same too with plant milks.
It's simply not true that the bacteria used to make B12 come from cow's liver. Yes, it is true that back in the 1940s, it was discovered that raw liver cured B12 deficiencies but we are a LONG way down the line from there.

Fruits and salads don't need cooking, there's plant-milk based for all dairy products, plant-based chicken, veg burgers etc. I substituted legumes for meat, and I did start making my own lentils and chickpeas (soaked first) because they taste 1000 times better than cans. It's also a myth you need eggs for baking, that's propaganda from the '50s. What did I need a recipe for except for maybe my own carrot cake or hummus????

sotv2045, so are you saying that because you don't want to pay a little more for vegan cheese you have no problem with dairy cows being forcibly bred/raped every year so they will produce milk ?
You approve of new born male dairy calves being murdered shortly after birth because they don't produce milk ?
The babies are not allowed to have their mothers milk.
Dairy cows are very maternal, they cry and grieve for weeks after their babies have been stolen from them.
When the cows are about 6 years old they are exhausted after being bred and continously milked so they are sent to slaughter where they are violently murdered.
Cows naturally live into their twenties.
While you are eating your cheese please give some thought to the suffering and death you have caused by purchasing a piece of cheese.
