As much as ‘Nobody’ makes me emotional af and effectively rips my heart out it’s also comforting; it brings loneliness to the surface and in doing so reassures us that we are not alone in experiencing it; the lyrics reflect it so acutely. It’s a masterpiece. I always listen to this version when I’m real down, the popish version is a bop but in a way erodes its meaning. I think this; pure vocals and emotion is much more powerful.

I found this song a year ago and practicing it helped so much with my range and taught me how to get used to a lower tone since I sang an octave lower than the original. My voice when I identified as a girl was scratchy and weak, but because of this song I love my voice now, it's amazing, deep, strong, I have great range. I love it. But I wasnt even thinking about that while I sang along to this. I related to it so much because I've been in a really intense depression since 7th grade when I was told we were moving across the country. I havent been able to make friends for a long time because of it. I'd be friends with someone for a year, I'd date someone for a couple months, and then I'd just be stuck in a period of intense, God awful loneliness. This song spoke to me and changed my voice. And now mitski is my goddamn idol
