Ought to be all sort of stuff down there
Wonder what all they found at the bottom of that?!?!
Yes these workers look like they are kicking Butt getting this done.
I worked on lock in New York State mohawk river to the Hudson river. Interesting work, 1990s.
They get things done 😊
"Roaring Mississippi"?? Lady, you know not of which you speak! If she was referring to the St. Anthony Falls part of the Mississippi River, perhaps, but not at Hastings!
They only know what's on the screen to read.
Roaring indeed...
Hannah Flood reporting on matters concerning the Mississippi River….i see what you did there…well played Fox9 well played 😂😂😂
What are those holes on the bottom? Terrifying
Water in and out
Those are the corpse collectors. A haunted underwater slurry of human remains deep inside.
@@UQRXD is right... to keep the boat from moving around in the lock chamber (hitting the side is bad for the boat), they add or remove water equally from around the sides of the lock chamber, at the bottom.
@@chouseification And that...
This lock is also used to transport cocaine. They forgot to tell you.😮
why does the army get involved?? why not just engineering contractors??
Army Corp of Engineers has responsibility over a number of areas regarding waterways. It's a national security concern. The theory being they'd keep up on things like maintenance better than a profit driven private company. Sometimes that's true, and sometimes not. New Orleans and Katrina being an example of 'not so much'. Granted, that was a stress event, but, should have been anticipated to a greater degree. That said, the vast majority of actual work is by private entities. The Army Corp of Engineers just oversees it.
Are they still considering changing the name to george floyd corps of engineers or no ?
Considering blacks invented locks and dams it seems appropriate. Well, they didn’t but I’m sure some will claim so
@@arthurbrumagem3844 About dam time they got the recognition. *sprints for the door*
