This was the best way to really show the consistency of the 3 types of paint. It is a big key on making or breaking a painting. No one until now has done such a Perfect video as you did. This was wonderful! Thank so much! It made a big difference for me. I love all your colors that you use! This video was so educational and was a great visual. Thank you!
YES!!! Thank you SO much for this comparison video--my paintings have definitely been #1 the too-thin consistency. I prefer the term 'lightning' rather than 'spindly' lol 😁 Now I'm excited to thicken things up for better-shaped cells!
Even your " off " stuff is beautiful! More beautiful than anything I've ever done. Wow your so gifted and talented! Beautiful job. Thank you for explaining everything so detailed. I NEEDED to see this! Thank you! 🙏
Most definitely the best consistency vid I’ve seen! And I’ve seen A LOT! Lol. Thank You for putting in the time to show us this. I’m sure for you it’s boring to do these vids since I’m sure you can mix your paints with your eyes closed, but it’s so very helpful for us newbies, so thank u! 🙏
I recently started pouring and learning how to do the Shelee art blooms. The consistency is the hardest to learn and picking the right materials. This video is awesome. I learned a lot. You were very specific in showing and explaining the differences in the paints and consistency. The visuals were great. Thank you.
You are right. After looking side by side, the middle consistency, your consistency, is the best for color & cells. You are good, my dear. Really good!
I'm sure if it's a begginer than blow out the 3 pieces we have more difference. 😂 You are so skillful that you are able to adjust the way you blow to get the best result. 😁 A most interesting video with very visual examples. In addition, you generously give of your time, your products $$, to teach us the art of bloom. You are so pleasant to listen to and easy to follow. No matter the length of your videos, I am captivated by what you do or show, how time flies with you!!! 💙💛💙 Thank you sooooo much Lisa Marvin!!🤩
Thanks beautiful, just what I needed today. Bless you 🙏🏼❤️lots of people like me are visual learners, this is the best video yet for showing us consistentcy.
Welcome back, I hope you all had an amazing holiday, with many treasured memories made ✨. Thank you, for this video, the time you spent in filming and editing, the cost of your paints and other products used as well as your time. Time that you have taken away from your own painting and/or time you have sacrificed with family and friends. Just want you to know, that I sincerely appreciate you doing these videos to educate and help all of us, new to bloom technique. I certainly didn’t like the too thin paint bloom, as it looked a little muddy in some areas and the cells and lacing certainly didn’t hold up. Love, love, love the ‘just right’ bloom and that Lemon Sorbet, definite favourite of mine ♥️. I have a difficult enough time, blowing out a bloom with perfect consistency, no way, could I blow out a thicker one 🤣. Sorry for long comment. Thank you 🙏 ♥️💯♥️💐💐💐💐💐
They’re all beautiful but the vibrancy of color in the “thick” pour is amazing. Question: In the “Goldilocks” test with the 3 pours, what would you say was the closest to your white paint that you laid down first? This was very helpful it’s getting clearer than mud for me with each video 😂. I haven’t poured yet. Just gathering my materials and hopefully the knowledge. Thank you so much!!
Firstly it’s great to have you back, hope you had a wonderful family holiday. A big thank you for taking the time to do this video. It’s an enormous help to me. I love the second one with the perfect consistency.
é aprendido muchísimo contigo 😊tus videos son largos pero entretenidos, los veo de principia a fin, por qué con tus demostraciones se ve perfectamente los resultados al momento, ademas eres muy divertida.gracias por tu paciencia y genersidad👋👋
Thank you so much ...my cells when I first pour and blow them out look great but next day they look horrible all the cels are gone or very wonky....you have showed me my paints are way to thin ....I will adjust and hope I get better results ❤❤❤
Thank you very much Lisa. Seeing the different consistencies has helped to see the cells we are looking for. I like the medium and thick consistencies.
Ohhhh I see the difference in all 3! Your go-to is definitely the best looking, I love the lemon sorbet is that a piggy? I thought my paints were thicker but they all end up looking more like your thin result, hummm. Back to the mixing for me! Thank you Lisa for showing the differences. Do you still have the dried pieces? Would love to see them dried too. Hugs from Colorado
Oh goodness I have been very sick with the same thing and haven't Painted in two weeks so did a few blooms yesterday and almost passed out 😔 This is going around especially with kids I have granddaughter who was sick at Christmas she gave to me
Perfect! as I knew it would be. Love that you are super carefree. It's encouraging me to relax and enjoy the process more and more. I get a bit OCD while learning, especially when things don't go as hoped. Your video explains a lot for me as to why I get some of the results I get when I'm trying to bloom. Got a stack of 54 canvas panels, super inexpensive, for me to practice on. I have 39 left. Wish me luck and good blooming!!! Thanks tons!
Lisa this was amazing. I an new and I think I am just listening to to many artist. This is exactly what needed. Now to find your cell activator and I will be golden. Thank you so much for taking the time to help ones that are struggling.
Thank you so much! This has helped me understand why exactly I'm getting faded colors and spindly cells. I keep thinning my paint because I am thinking it's too thick. Opps- wrong way😆need it to be thicker!
Oh Miss Lisa, I think this is my 4th time watching this video. Lol. But consistency is so key and I see now I was on the thin side for blooms. Thank you so much!! 🤗
Hello Lisa 🙂 thank you so much for your sharings 🙏 I am in love with your paintings !!! I just wonder how the consistency of the pillow and of the cell activator is the best ? You may have told about it but I am french and certainly miss some explaination 😏... all the consistencies have to be the same ? Or the cell activator has to be thinner than others ? And what about the pillow ? And the blowing must be important as well I guess. The middle of the puddle first and then a soft blow through the exterior of the canvas ? I hope my questions are quite clear 😀... And I thank a lot everybody who can answering me 🥰 ! Have a nice day 💕
This is a great video, Lisa. It reminds me of a science book my mom showed me when I was little, with spider webs done by three spiders, who of whom had been given THC and LSD. Too big, too small, just right. Have a safe and wonderful holiday!
Welcome back from a well deserved vacation 😀. Fantastic video. The part that was most helpful for me and you said yourself, was seeing it with your eyes.. putting the puddles down up close showing the consistency and what the mounds should look like really helped me understand it better. Seeing it in the cup especially darker colors is hard sometimes. I learned alot in this video and I would love to see one on the consistency of the CA. Great job Lisa 👏
Hi. This was so very helpful. Thank you for taking the time to do it. I love your way of talking through what you are doing. Great energy and enthusiasm!
This is a great demonstration, really helpful to See the different consistencies and results of them. And also beautiful results 😊 Thank you so much for showing 🙏
I'm kicking myself for not watching this when it first came out. I'm testing the runny floetrol. Each time I get good cells then watch them melt. It became apparent after watching this that my colors are too thin!! I'm gonna try again tomorrow with thicker paints. Wish me luck!! Thanks for this video Lisa!!
Firstly, welcome back! Thank you for this video, super informative. It’s so hard to tell consistency from people’s videos because they are often sped up or slowed down. My paints could be thinner and they look runny in my videos because of the editing. This was just perfect because it was real time!! Thank you again, time and effort and expense all appreciated!!
Perfect timing for this video, addresses a really crucial factor and really helped me gain more insight into what I am doing well and what isn't great.
Thank you for this wonderful video I have not even done my first pour yet as I’m trying to absorb as much information as possible and this was so very helpful, appreciated. 😊
Thank you so very much for this video, I now know that I am in the too thin group and need to thicken my paint a bit to get the look of your second painting. This was so helpful and I can't wait to try with thicker paint. Thanks again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Welcome back, hope you had a wonderful vacay. Love the video, thanks so much for taking the time, and expense to make it. It’s really helped to see the consistency. Thinking maybe I’m to thick on my mixes.
Great video Lisa! I enjoyed watching it and learned a lot. It also explained some of the results I have seen on various blooms I’ve done. Now I know why they were like that. Thanks so much. 😁

Great video on consistency. You can really tell the difference in the cells and how the paints blew out. Personally, I don’t like the “too thin” look. The Goldilocks one is gorgeous of course. The “too thick” one has its place- it had great cells and a cool softening of colors around the edges. Thanks for taking the time to show us what can happen depending on consistency. ❤️
Thank you so much again Lisa for your time and knowlage! I think it is very clear now, even though it is still dificult to me to get the right enamel here in Spain... or they are too thick or they are to thin😥. So every time I mix, I have to adjust... Happy you had a nice holiday!
Super helpful - two things you never mentioned though 1. How do I thicken up my piggies? 2. Pillow consistency and how I thin that out as my pillow paint here is very thick. Also, when I do my blowouts my paints seem to floculate - why would that be?
This was very helpful! I took the sheleeart class and this is a great augmenter to that! I have made the mistake of too thick and too thin paints... one thing also about too thin that I didnt realize but shelee told me was that the extra jo sonja can cause cracking/crazing!! It was happening to me along with the squiggly wonky cells! So that would be another reason not to go too thin! Always err on the side of thicker if you are going to err 😂😂
Thanks Lisa !! I’m beginning and this video helped me soooo much !! I’m looking at all the pieces I’ve done and I can see my mistakes now mainly du to bad consistency 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
This was extremely helpful, loaded with information! I would be so worried about going too thick even though it looks great because it would crack or craze. It’s such a disappointment for a gorgeous painting to be ruined after drying! Thanks for sharing this video! Major helpful! 🥰🤗💜❤️💜❤️💜❤️💜❤️
Hi Lisa. Loved this tutorial, thank you so much. One question.. when you mixed your pigment in the varnish, disd you add behr also like the tube paints, or just varnish? Thanks. Love your work, I know I've told you a million times, but I really do. 🙂
Thank you so much for the video, it is extremely helpful. I’ve been trying to watch videos to see which ones show how the consistencies look but this one is by far the best. I have a small question, for the spinning how do you adhere the canvas to the spinner? I feel very reluctant to spin a little harder for fear the canvas flies off … which I’ve seen happen. Thank you
We’ll why didn’t you meet me for a cup of coffee while you were in San Diego?! Great video! I am constantly wondering why my blooms aren’t consistent. Why sometimes they’re beautiful and sometimes they just don’t work out! I love a good video that teaches tips. Thanks!
This is a good timing for me as I just did my very first bloom on a tile and it cracked all to pieces. I know for sure I didn't leave too much paint on because I barely got it to move enough to finish covering the tile so I'm thinking my pouring paints were too thin on top. I simply used Glidden Premium in semi-gloss with some GAC800 in it. If my pillow was OK will it split if your paints/pigments were too thin? About how many seconds would you estimate the trace of whatever you put on your pillow be before it disappears? I've invested a bunch of $$$ if I can't get this down. I know, just keep practicing and practicing. I was easily discouraged and because I am disabled with my spine it took me 3 days to recover from it after mixing and retrying 4 times. SOS! Thanks so much for all your instructional videos.
Know the feeling. I needed more seeing of the consistency! But watching is not doing!!! Thanks for sharing/comparing the different pour/consistency your expressions tell a story ...great lungs and Talents... marye on...
Great information-especially for a newbie! Thank you for spending so much time to help us out. I have a question. You mentioned Behr 8300 for a pouring medium. When I looked it up, it says it’s oil based? I’m not sure if I’m looking at the he right thing?
Thank you…yes learned from this. My question regarding cells …Many have said that cells shapes in the bloom comes from the ausssie floetrol in the cell activator ….so wondering about that
This was the best way to really show the consistency of the 3 types of paint. It is a big key on making or breaking a painting. No one until now has done such a Perfect video as you did. This was wonderful! Thank so much! It made a big difference for me. I love all your colors that you use! This video was so educational and was a great visual. Thank you!

This is my kind of experiement Lisa. Thanks so much.
Glad it was scientific enough 😂
YES!!! Thank you SO much for this comparison video--my paintings have definitely been #1 the too-thin consistency. I prefer the term 'lightning' rather than 'spindly' lol 😁

You could blow mud and it would turn out beautiful!! Great job showing the difference in thickness, thank you!
😂 I’ll try!
This video is very helpful. I have saved it and already watched it twice.
Amazing!

That was a perfect analogy of the different viscosities. The 3 drip test.❤
I just love your personality, makes it so much more inviting to watch your vids. Ty for sharing your knowledge!
Thanks beautiful, just what I needed today. Bless you 🙏🏼❤️lots of people like me are visual learners, this is the best video yet for showing us consistentcy.
Great video. I struggle with consistency with just about any technique. Glad you're back.
Thank you!

😂 hi!
Welcome back Lisa! 👏🏽😊
Thank you!
Outstanding video. Love how you got the camera down at eye level so I could see the mound formation. Im sure this is going to help. : )
Welcome back! I have missed you and hope you had a great holiday. Thank you for this video, I have learned a lot.
Thank you! ❤️
Lisa, I’m a fan of your videos and enjoy them a lot. I found that JoSonia makes my cells squirrels. I use it very modestly.
Yes! You have to make sure to have the perfect consistency!

Thank you so very much for this video, I now know that I am in the too thin group and need to thicken my paint a bit to get the look of your second painting. This was so helpful and I can't wait to try with thicker paint. Thanks again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you!
great teaching video. Beautiful art.
Thank you!
Very very helpful. Just what I needed.
Wow thanks so much for this tutorial!! It all makes sense. Thanks for explaining everything.
Thank you!
This was super helpful. I have been doing too thin. Sickly cells that melt. Hope you had a fun vacation. Thanks for this demo.☮️💙
Thank you!

Dear Liza
This question is not related to this video, but I thought perhaps you help with this question.
Is house paint used as a base for swipes because of it's thickness or because of it's ingredients? I would also like to know why sometimes your bloom mix seems thicker than others. On Sheelee's videos sometimes it look like she can just pour it out. Oh, by the way thank you for doing the hard and expensive work for us.
I’m brand new to fluid paint since June.
I think I may have mentioned this to you before, but………..they have pour spouts for those Behr lids that have that screw off smaller hole. And thank you so much for this. That is the exact PM I use, very thick, but I think Behr is a good brand. And just a thought, beginners, or less……scientific, painters could be looking for their pigs to ‘melt’, or ‘disolve’.
Then we wouldn’t get our bloops!! No thanks for the pour spout😁😆Love Lisa’s bloops🎉😂❤
OMG, we have the Julia Child of all paint mixing recipes … seriously… this video was the best, to help me work with my own mixes.
😂 love that!
Watching this was very educational. It does bring up a question - when would you drizzle instead of a small puddle? Just for opaques? Piggies?
I drizzle an opaque, if the paint is too thick, or I don’t want a big blob :)
Goldilocks! ❤️
Thank you. This was very helpful. I am just starting to experiment doing blooms.
Yay! Have fun!
This is very helpful!
Thank you so much again Lisa for your time and knowlage! I think it is very clear now, even though it is still dificult to me to get the right enamel here in Spain... or they are too thick or they are to thin😥. So every time I mix, I have to adjust... Happy you had a nice holiday!
Yay!
Ha yes!!
Thanks Lisa, very interesting, I have learned a little more about consistencies, which I needed!😊
Yay!
Very helpful video thankyou. Would it be possible to do a video on how to do the methods it takes to achieve the different designs?
This was so helpful..thank you for taking the time and energy to do this for us🥰🦋
Thanks Lisa !! I’m beginning and this video helped me soooo much !! I’m looking at all the pieces I’ve done and I can see my mistakes now mainly du to bad consistency 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
I’m so glad!
Very helpful, Lisa! Thanks!!
Thank you so much, I learn so many things from you. Thank you❤️❤️❤️💙💙💙
Aw thank you!
Your work is beautiful! I hope mine can look half that good. lol
Love that apron!!! Very cute!
Thank you!
Lisa where do you think your “perfect one” would fall if you were using a consistency chart to check the consistency of your paints?
Thank you Lisa!! I needed this video!!
Yay!
I’m so glad! Thank you!
Great video!! Thank you so much!
Hi Lisa.
Loved this tutorial, thank you so much.
One question.. when you mixed your pigment in the varnish, disd you add behr also like the tube paints, or just varnish?
Thanks.
Love your work, I know I've told you a million times, but I really do. 🙂
Do you just use the Color to go for blooms? Is the Color to go just their samples or does it come with different base/tint? Not sure what to get.
Wondering the same
They all look great. I’ve been trying out new untainted.
Oo fun!
Thank you for the comparison. Very vivid and infirmative👌🎶
Thank you!
Thank you

Great information-especially for a newbie! Thank you for spending so much time to help us out. I have a question. You mentioned Behr 8300 for a pouring medium. When I looked it up, it says it’s oil based? I’m not sure if I’m looking at the he right thing?
Thank you for sharing 🎨🎨
Thank you…yes learned from this. My question regarding cells …Many have said that cells shapes in the bloom comes from the ausssie floetrol in the cell activator ….so wondering about that
Yes the flo makes the cells, but the density of all of the layers of paints makes a difference!
