That brother is delusional... history is more important than the future, and if it is not more important, then it is just as important. It is the footsteps of history that guide us in the present into the future. Today was built on yesterday just like tomorrow will be built on today. If you park your car and go into a grocery store it will be history that tells you where your car is at. History tells you where you live, who your family is, etc. Without history you would not even know who you are. That brother is delusional, and I don't know if you all caught why, but I did.
It’s not that absolute. I don’t see how a Black man could not live life without making a blanket judgment off of history. That being said when you meet people on a personal level you don’t have to harbor hatred, you can judge them individually, but that historical perspective will always keep you aware.
Yes, and we have to understand and accept the diversity of black thought that exist. We no longer need or have spokespeople that need to speak for us like in the Civil Rights Era. I do agree more black media platforms need to arise to showcase that diversity but is not Revolt TV a black media platform, is not TV One a black media platform, even Oprah has a platform to express different views and representations. They exist but are not all in one unison.
It’s called discernment.

The problem with black ppl as a whole is that they understand how detrimental knowing your history is. Because your history will tell you historically who your true enemy is, and historically the red man (Edomites) are our enemy. It depends on the context. The thing is if we were organized and had a large network of successful black people working together the other groups would have no other choice then to show respect. With some groups It's about the money with you after they've given their people first dibbs and they didn't want it. You're getting the leftovers. Unlike how we do business.
Not it's about survivalism, money is nothing but a tool to ensure that for their group. If they can extract money and resources from you doesn't mean they won't do business with you, they will. But they do not care about you or the group you belong to. Black people need to stop believing in the fairytale of globalism. If racism is still happening in the present it is not "history".
This world is about money and the goal is to keep black people as the permanent underclass . Do you believe a West Indian, a mixed race person, or African Immigrant considers themselves Black as if Black is this monolthic banner we all come up under. My uncle is a highly educated, plus wealthy so called Black businessman. Although he's doing big boy things, he's faced biased opinions while out doing field assignments for an agency that's under his name. When he's in specific neighborhoods that aren't out of his price range, he's had to deal with being confronted and questioned about his presence in a so called free country. He's not a very flashy guy, but does keep nice things. One thing I learned from watching some of his clients that come for his financial or insurance services is that people with money don't always look like what their bank accounts/assets prove them to be.

It’s not about bread, it’s about the heart. No amount of money will change a persons heart. That Magic point was great.
They diverted from that Magic point. They kept focusing on $$ Magic had versus, ownership of an NBA team which he DOESN'T have. Racist Clippers owner looked at Magic as less than because he doesn't have the NBA franchise. If Magic, had his own team, that girl wouldn't be bringing him to the games, she would be sitting courtside at his. Ownership is key like the first guy said. If anyone in that room had their OWN platform the conversation would be different.
@@Footballer85749 I understand what you’re saying but respectfully disagree. We keep using different qualifiers for hate which results in a moving of the goal post to try and rationalize an irrational hate. That point is turned upside by the same person making it when he talks about a homeless guy refusing to take his money even though he had more wealth than him. Another example, he had no problem with her kicking it with white men who don’t own sports teams (which Magic actually does with the Dodgers), the issue is his Blackness. And even if he was cool with her kicking it with Magic at a Dodgers game because he owned the team, he still wouldn’t care for him as a man or a human because he was Black. He would respect his pockets and still call him a nigger at home. If the argument is about getting treated better by White people because you have money that’s one thing, but a conversation about how someone actually thinks of you is another. This moving of the goal posts is us thinking more like them. I’m sure most Black folks had someone tell you growing up that the true measure of a man is how you treat the janitor, not the CEO. Or how you treat someone who can do nothing for you. Or some form of that metaphor. Don’t let this generation of bag and money talk confuse you. If someone only respects you because of what you have, they don’t respect you.
@@upstairsweb-series9848 I'm not confused. There are levels to hate and disrespect and its nuanced. My point was everyone there was declining from talking about one facet of that which is ownership, one guy brought it up and the discussion pivoted. You are correct, the Clippers owner probably doesnt respect Magic period. But, the reason the hate came in that form is not due to Magic's financials. It is due to his lack of ownership. That guy feels as though he is above people who dont own teams or companies. My argument was simply if Magic owned a team, that woman wouldnt even be bringing him to Clippers games. She would be attending the games of Magic's franchise. Not that it changes much about one's opinion. Someone may not like you but if you have options or free will they have to understand it and respect if to a degree if it is exercised. You cant change anything you dont own.

Ebonics used to be frowned upon until they started using it in commercials: " Applebees 🍎, Eatin' Good in the Neighborhood." It's always been about the money. It seems that we're not validated until they say so.
He's right. It's ultimately about class not race. Money talks and bullsh!t walks.
I’ve had this debate as well and my philosophy is lead with love. It sound corny but if everybody did that a lot of bs wouldn’t exist. Lead with love but be aware of ya history. Innocent till proven guilty
The problem with that approach is, we aren't the ones who made the game. So no one gives a f□k about your love because you're the one they fear in the first place.
It's like rolling up on a swarm of bees saying "I'm here in peace". Those bees still gonna sting you up because they're the ones with the anger and the stingers lol.
@@LembeckIsStaying so you are implying...those group of bees are white people? So i guess you think its okay to become the bully of 200 years ago? Instead of fixing or improving relationships amongst everyone... u think white people are evil. I was born in 94...i never met you..never touched you...never put a rope on you. Id never do thst to any black person...but it dont matter cus im white? Sounds exactly like a white supremacist 200 years ago. U cant choose when things work and dont.
@@LembeckIsStaying right, they were leading with love during the civil rights movement getting spit in the face, dogs and fire hoses unleashed on them, rocks thrown at them, kidnapped and lynched. People of color not going for that ish anymore on the flip side though we too busy clipping each other instead banning together.
I remember this episode. Was a great conversation. There's a lot of people that need to hear this.
If its all about money than power automatically comes along with that. Money and Power, there's a blurred line between the two. And we know what ethnic group has always been in power here in America and strategic to never relinquish that power for a reason.
The guy in the red hat is on point 👌👌👌👌
Dude gotta understand that this is life... we gotta have some type of pre judgement to a certain degree
2 different personalities. One is positive; one is skeptical
Hoffa.....keep these coming big dawg....much love from Virginia homie💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
If I judge my life on how people was treated back in the day before I Eve and thought of before my mama was born before my grandma was born that I would not have a life because I'd always be mad at the world and that makes no sense to me
The brother with the mixed daughter is optimistic. Great way to be. But you also gotta be realistic.
Money can level the playing field but in general the referee is still racist.
Just reading the quote in the title of the video, immediately comes to mind a scene from The Wire. When Marlo goes to The Greek's diner and leaves a briefcase full of cash, he is denied. They say his money stinks. Then he parlays with Prop Joe and gets schooled on "white money" game, cleans his cash, and comes back with a fresh briefcase, which made an impression on The Greek and got their acceptance.
When this guy claimed he was Jamaican....the ALL got TRIGGERED...it's so funny can't even describe how ridiculous the argument is going, lol
Never Forget....Never.
If they can still trip over 9/11 then don't say ish to us.
True nobody care about your color when you got money
