    "Iranians were the first tribe to domesticate dogs and keep them as pets in their houses. For example, the Saluki is a breed of dog which is known worldwide with an Iranian origin from 2500 years ago."

    "The necessity of dogs accompanying humans is so great that right now in Iran the police forces, the Red Crescent and the military have their own dogs and they use dogs to meet their needs. Truly they have no replacements for dogs and for example they might not be able to use any other animal in search and rescue operations to find live victims buried under wreckage."

    The recent crackdown on un-Islamic behaviour in Iran has not only affected the nation's people, but also their pets.
    The Iranian government says that dogs are unclean and should not be kept as pets. But many people in Tehran defy those rules and a pet hospital has opened to look after the health of the city's pets.
    STORYLINE:
    Taking the dog for a walk is a liberty that most people take for granted, but pet lovers in Iran often find themselves at odds with the government.
    The Iranian government says that keeping pets is 'un-Islamic' as they are considered unclean.
    Tina Hosseinzadeh is the owner of a fluffy white dog.
    She says she can't take him to the park so she plays with him in the back yard.

    Dogs are protectors of intruders. Love rabbits too. Cant imagine life without dogs.

    Ruling clerics who are cruel to animals are also evil and intellectually impaired. Cats and dogs are family members, not "impure" like those whom hatred drives them to torture animals and humans under the disguise of religion. These sadistic, desperate and power-hungry clerics should be purged from society, as they are twisting and using religion to commit cruelty and suffering
