And women tend to look down on blue collar workers……because they stupidly equate having a degree to wealth and intelligence. So they dismiss blue collar worker men most likely to be making over 6 figures as not on their level. Then look on other men because of their job title and weed themselves out. My husband is an air craft mechanic who makes over 6 figures and has made over 6 figures for over a decade. But he doesn’t have a college degree and doesn’t wear his wealth. I’ve seen plenty of my friends hear no degree and mechanic and turn their nose up at men just like him not even realizing they ALL make over 6 figures. 🤷🏽♀️

I’m at VP at one of the world’s largest banks. I’ve also been compared (looks wise) to Idris Elba. I’m 6’2”, college educated, and drive a luxury car. I have found it impossible to attract black women. I don’t want to hear it!!
As a man, my wife would have been academically and professionally dating down. She wanted to be a stay at home mom and run the household while I work. 16 years married, our children are both mine and her's(as much as I know). I am Black and she is white. But the broader point is, I did not marry down, but we did not professionally align. She was not "career" oriented, but she managed restaurants after being.promoted from being a waitress. She manages the family business...which is our home. Which is really important. I touch the money, she manages the domicile with the finances I provide. I pay the bills, deal with 401k and taxes. She works with what is left over to buy food, have medicine in the home and maintain the vehicles. That stuff. We (more she) homeschools our children too. Seems to work for us. Would not have worked with a competitive professional peer. Our values and principles brought us together. We are a power couple because of our roles, not our professions.
