Takes more than wins and good riding to be a champion. Personality, passion, perseverance all has to be in check. You've checked all the boxes and are a true champion! Never forget that! Keep riding... keep grinding!
Great job on the video, @niekkimmann you are a winner. Taking on a feat like chasing a USABMX title on your own is no easy task. You represent the Best In BMX, a true BMXer, and definitely "BMX Mania Approved"! 🙂
You showed true humility through the ups and downs, you’re an inspiration to the younger generation! Keep grinding, I see you holding up that Silver Cup next year!
Hell of a video @niekkimmann it’s not small task to come to another country and race a series! You and your brother have a ton of bmx racers that look up to you guys. Keep making videos and doing what you do. We all thank you for it.
Was a pleasure seeing you on our National circuit, my son was really happy to meet you , and was awesome to awesome to practice with you and your brother at our home track in Vegas (btw, we have 4 track in town) Hope you come out and enjoy the USA more in the future.
A really great documentary. It's nice to show the background of the athlete preparation, the ups and downs. You're mentally very strong, what a good example for young Bmx riders, you never give up despite these falls and pains. Congratulations 👏
Niek, thank you for being vulnerable about what it’s like to come back from being an Olympic champion in the world champion. I think it’s both humbling and encouraging to hear. It also helps me to encourage my children as they grow in the sport to strive for these big goals, but also to have bigger goals. It has been fun watching you race this season. Thanks for taking us along on the journey.
A great video to end the season with. Although you didn't win the title, I think you gained much more along the way, including more fans. I thought it took a lot of nerve to take those 3 months off too. All the best for 2023! 🏆
Niek, you are an inspiration to all of us out there. When I first started racing in July of this year, I watched many of your videos for techniques and am amazed at how smooth and fast you are. It was awesome to be able to see you at Grands and wish you good luck. Love the mini documentary. Keep your head up and the videos coming!
You’re definitely living your dream! Not many can say that. I came up in the 80’s and unfortunately got the burn out and never went back so can relate to yours. Glad you stuck with it. Congrats! (If only I could relate to being a BMX gold medalist to!)
I am very very far from having your level, but riding on tracks that have more than 20 years of technical traces does not motivate me at all. I'm from the generation that started at the same time as this sport in the 80s and I'm happy to be able to ride on real tracks with real starts at 5 and 8 meters with real jumps and real fun. I would never spend my time and my money to ride on flat tracks where I would clearly be bored.
Niek je wordt oud vallen en opstaan probeer mountenbiken is super uitdaging downhill je eigen track eigen tijd een nieuwe uitdaging bmx is wordt te makkelijk voor je
