True you ride the finest horse I've ever seen Standing 16 1" or 2" with eyes wild and green And you ride the horse so well, hands light to the touch I could never go with you no matter how I wanted to Ride on, see you, I could never go with you No matter how I wanted to When you ride into the night without a trace behind Run your claw along my gut one last time I turn to face an empty space where once you used to lie And look for a smile to light the night through a teardrop in my eye Ride on, see you, I could never go with you No matter how I wanted to
@@Thebeastfromnorth75 thanks for the recommendation. I just checked it out. Unfortunately I think it's not a good version. Way too fast, and the female and the soft male vocals are poorly performed. His harsh vocals are great, I wish he would use them throughout the entire song.
I’ve sang it for the first time just a few days ago with the scouts. Really nice song.
The famous song, thank you Jimmy.
True you ride the finest horse I've ever seen
Standing 16 1" or 2" with eyes wild and green
And you ride the horse so well, hands light to the touch
I could never go with you no matter how I wanted to
Ride on, see you, I could never go with you
No matter how I wanted to
When you ride into the night without a trace behind
Run your claw along my gut one last time
I turn to face an empty space where once you used to lie
And look for a smile to light the night through a teardrop in my eye
Ride on, see you, I could never go with you
No matter how I wanted to
And smile for a spark to light the night...
One of the most beautiful songs ever. I will listen to this for the rest of my life
Christy Moors version is more modern and more emotional, however.
It’s a bit of magic and no doubt about it
Thank you very much for uploading this! ;-)
Only heard this by CHristy Moore. Lovely to hear by the writer. Thanks
Listen to the original of missing you... completely different.. Christy doesn't have a patch on the original
Great song, by Jimmy Mccarthy, nowt to do with christy Moore.

German doom metal B-S-T band did an awesome cover of this.
Thanks for letting me know, I'll check it out
Marc Gunn also did a good one except that Marc says "witchoo" instead of "with you". The witchoos always annoy me.
Irish folk metal band Cruachan also did a version that I found incredible beautiful and powerful.

@@Okkvltify Interesting, I thought the opposite, but hey, that´s the beauty of music! Your´re welcome. Take Care N Stay Strong.
