I’m sure she thought the box was a good alternative, cozy and warm. Then people started knocking on the door at all hours. She is a good little Mum.🖤🇨🇦
Maybe she was a first time mom and didn’t have a second site set up and needed time to find something suitable. Fortunately for her she had “Gates “in her corner.👏 Thank you for sharing.
I’m not shocked when they decide to live in the box. Maybe a bit cramped but I imagine the heater being nice and comforting. I’d stay in the box if I was her
I think that as developed and well-treed the Greater Toronto Area is, it seems inevitable that racoons, in particular, will have an increasingly more difficult time finding new sites safe from predators.
Was so funny for some reason I too had a feeling she thought that was her new nesting home , she must have been a younger mother and maybe she really didn’t have a 2nd nest somewhere ?! She has a gorgeous face and the babies so sweet ❣️ I really enjoy watching all your adventures and tricks / tips and I always pray your safe❣️ Thank you
Poor mama, she just needed time to find a new spot! So good that you were able to give her space, and thankfully the homeowners attempt failed or that would have been a horrible fate for the babies. I am curious, how often does that happen where the mama doesn't have an alternate site in mind so decides to camp out in the box?
I find these guys pretty often. Please don't leave glue traps in your attics, folks. That being said, baby oil gets them off a sticky trap with no harm done. Also, in Texas they sometimes travel in pairs. One distracts you and the other tries to beat you up while you try to not fall through the ceiling. Watch your six, boys. They're clever.
I have always wondered why they didn't just stay in the box. Especially the ones that only had one or two babies and therefore more room inside the box. This is the first time that I think it was actually done.
Cannot say I blame her, the box must have been a nice temporary den. Maybe she felt the babies needed to grow a little before she moved them, or she needed time to prepare another den site. They are such beautiful, intelligent and gentle creatures. We are not lucky enought to have them in the UK. If we did, I would build a nest box in one of my trees and have supplemental food on hand for any nocturnal visitors just like my hedgehog and occasional fox that calls;
She thanked gates company for the free rent for a bit. Good for her taking her time to get a good home for those cute babies. All moms every animal moms r different
Cassandra really wants to make sure the audience gets the full view of everything and I appreciate that so much but I am always worried that the mothers will try and attack her. I'm screaming get the babies and get out!! But I do love seeing them.
I’m a Renter. I noticed Raccoons in my attic. Instead of my Landlord sending Pest Control to remove them he came over tossed some rodent killer inside the attic and sealed up their entrance hole.. Is that okay?
Would that be okay if it was done to you? Is that okay if you were given poison without you knowing while in a prison with no escape? The question you ask reveals a catastrophic moral & empathic disconnect. That's moral truth.
@@nadiarepich5199she just asked a question! Not everyone has the ability to afford calling pest control. Not everyone look at it the same. But we're NOT supposed to put animals before humans, NEVER😡!! Sad for the Coons who are made to adapt. Gates is on of the kindest ever. They are very expensive! Disease, some kill animals, babies, serious death of they have rabies if not treated death, Expenses that they also have to pay for

It's a heating pad under a false floor. They did a video a while back about the baby box. You should be able to find in their list of videos.
