In the UK, I think you may get a good 8-10 seconds.. that is IF you get honked at all.. I've seen a few where the people behind have not honked, the car in front didn't notice AT ALL until the lights started going back to red, and THEN went.. The car behind just calmly moved up to the front spot.. Not a peep out of them.

You do realise that law doesn't mean you're in violation by being a few seconds too slow at a light, yeah? That law is more to do with stupid shit like unloading in the middle of the carriageway, causing an obstruction for more than a few seconds.
