      @@Zedzilliot Valentine is a clone of justice and the other valentines are clones of valentine, so all of the valentines are second gen clones of justice. Dizzy is an interesting case because we know that she is the daughter of Justice but we dont know how. Its a bit easier to explain in relation to Sol. Sol is Dizzy's father (Somehow), the valentines are like sisters-in-law of sol. This is also why the valentines aren't children of sol but Sin is Sol's grandson.

      @@reeeeeee7292I think they meant we don’t know how Dizzy was born from a timeline perspective. Cause Aria became Justice and was sealed at some point for like hundreds of years and Dizzy is only like 8 years old max. But yeah most likely Dizzy hatched from an egg

    I watched Gobou's stream when this match occurred; and you could tell that he played Dizzy in the older games - as 2D > Ice Spike became a habit early on. He plays her like a combination of her version in the previous Guilty Gear titles, an Asuka and Goldlewis player. He mentioned that Dizzy's zoning is delicate, and will require more research in order to use effectively.
    With this video featuring Gobou, I would also like to talk about the adjustments made to Asuka and Zato in this current version ( *Long Post Ahead* ):

    (Asuka: I want to do my best, but it's hard).
    -Gobou channeling his inner Asuka
    That quote was before the Dizzy patch, but because Asuka is such a misunderstood character - many non-Asuka players were still under the impression that he was low S tier - or within the top 10 strongest characters in the game-- Asuka was neither. Before the Dizzy patch, Asuka was deemed to be B tier - based on the opinions/tier lists of Gobou, Komekome (who does not believe that Case 2 is weaker than Case 3), Chocoservant, and Zando - Asuka players that do not feed into each other's thoughts, because they do not communicate with one another. I understand this may be difficult for some to accept, but the character was not as strong as the best Asuka players made him appear to be...
    Now, about the most recent patch notes: Gobou had some early impressions for both Asuka and Zato: For Zato, he felt that that Eddie has not received any significant enhancements that will completely change the way Zato uses it - but, he _did_ receive a defense modifier buff where he no longer has some of the lowest effective health in the game. As for Asuka: Gobou's early impressions of this character based on what was written in the patch notes was that... he looks *"weak and uninteresting."* Although it's still early, I would like to break down some of the adjustments I read in the patch notes - with almost every character receiving a defense modifier buff that reduces the damage taken, Mana Shield-broken Asuka is by *_far_* the lowest effective health character in the game now-- and with the damage increase to most moves, he will probably be taking season 2 damage - which will make him a riskier/more volatile character to use in high level play.
    Additionally, Case 2 has received a few enhancements; with the Instant Mana spell no longer clearing all spells in your repertoire, and the Random Import spell filling in any missing spells. While this is definitely a nice start, I don't see this offsetting the nerfs given to Asuka overall - but we shall see... with the Mana consumption for Harmonics Boost looking to be probably around 300+% of what it was before after a few seconds (I am just guessing here, but the Mana consumption now is unreasonable), nerfs to 6P (which will make defending against Asuka's bad match-ups like I-No, Slayer, Axl, Bridget, Johhny, and Faust harder now), less plus frames on his spells, the deletion of the 5-hit Bit Metron spell from all Test Cases, the Mana Regeneration spell getting nerfed again, some spells appearing to be more expensive than before, and with the extra startup/recovery and lack of knockback from Submicron - it appears that every Test Case became weaker. That being said, Komekome stated that it will now be even harder to win with Case 2 in comparison to before until the next balance patch...
    Although a bit unrelated: I do not have social media, a friend of mine does; and I have heard some players are declaring that they caused "X Character" to get nerfed-- now, by no means am I trying to be disrespectful towards these players, but Zando did *_not_* get Asuka nerfed-- it was Gobou (he is just too humble to admit it); and that's why ASW made changes to anything having to do with playing "Solitaire" - such as nerfing the Mana Recovery spell again, reducing plus frames on spells, and the extreme Mana consumption associated with Harmonics Boost to discourage/prevent one-sided matches that Gobou typically initiated. No other Asuka user in the world can oppress with as much efficiency and for the duration that Gobou can - and most likely never will. Moreover, big adjustments like this take a long time to develop - around 6-12 months, due to how many chains of command and testing are involved in the software development cycle. More than likely, Gobou's performance at EVOJ and the Super Tournament in Korea was responsible for these nerfs; seeing as Case 3 was once again the main target-- and for those who have not seen this tournament, after Gobou defeated Poka's Chaos in the loser's bracket at the Super Tournament, he decided that *nobody* (his opponents) was going to play for the entire tournament - and they did not. It was what Gobou felt was his best tournament performance with Asuka since learning the character - and I would agree.
    Furthermore, every weakening Asuka has ever received was directed towards Gobou's playstyle - the nerfs to the Mana Regeneration, Auto Import, reduction of plus frames on spells, and now the inane Mana depletion for using Harmonics Boost (Full Order) - all of which Gobou utilized constantly during matches to gain an advantage and prevent the other user from playing the game - he even personally stated that his fighting style *"has been destroyed"* . That being said, I don't find it unreasonable to suggest that perhaps those players who indicated they were responsible for the nerfs should indulge themselves in some humble pie...

      As for Gobou's opinion on Asuka and Zato's character strength after playing the Dizzy update (in training mode): Gobou said that he felt Zato is very strong and can actually fight in tournaments - but he stated that he may not use it in tournaments. Zato's most notable strengths were 6HS now seemingly being plus on block, and 5S can now be gatlinged into Pierce - which only has a 4 frame gap. He also said that the command grab is very strong now; but he felt that it was unreasonable to use meter to replenish the Eddie gauge - when it should be allocated for extending pressure and defense. Gobou finished the training mode session and felt that Zato has been greatly strengthened.
      Moreover, when he used Asuka in training mode, he declared that you should wait to use your Bit Shift Metrons; the Deceleration Staff in Case 1 is still a cursed spell - that typically leads to the Asuka player losing if utilized; you can also turn over Harmonics Boost (Full Order) 18 times - which is enough to increase the level of RMS Boost to level 5 if you are discarding at least 3-4 spells each time; he said that the buff to Asuka's Mana Recovery spell in Case 2 is, as Asuka says, "足りない" (Not enough); RMS Boost at level 1-2 is very weak, and RMS Boost at level 5 has stingy plus frames; he ended the training by saying ( _Translations by me_ ):
      *Gobou:* *"Mana Recovery (Continous) has gotten stronger, and if you use it with Full Order, it will be amazing, but Mana consumption has gone up overall, and RMS has become very weak"*
      ー *"It's not like there were any new elements added to a character that was already bad in the first place"*
      ( _Gobou actually did use the word bad when referring to Asuka in season 3 here_ )
      ー *"I doubt if it will be used in tournaments"*
      Equally important, Gobou actually played Zato and Asuka in Celestial, and he his opinion(s) have shifted a bit: Gobou stated that he thought Zato became much stronger, and playing the character without Eddie felt better, and that Pierce's grip feels really good now. He also said the command grab has become a strong tool now.
      Furthermore, when he used Asuka in tower, his first impression was that Submicron is weak; Bit Shift might be strong - despite the 5-hit version being deleted from all Test Cases; Asuka _might_ be strong in this version-- which he later declared that if you can use Asuka effectively, he's stronger than in season 3; but he also kept stressing how difficult Harmonics Boost is to use now - where you spend all that Mana just to get a good set of spells, and then the next time it's utilized, it's "trash" - which makes it much more risky and expensive to use compared to before.
      Also, Gobou feels that Asuka's difficulty has gone up since season 3... this actually became a bit of a heated discussion in his live chat, because some viewers were indicating that Asuka players are just bad, and said, "so of course they will feel that the character is finished" - this was refuted by other Asuka users that stated "Gobou is just too strong."
      His final evaluations for Goldlewis was that he's kuso strong (I do not swear, so kindly Google that word - it's used a lot in the Ryu Ga Gotoku series) ー> Asuka is strong ー> Zato is reasonably strong. What concerns me, is if in order for Asuka to be "strong," you have to be as fast as Gobou - that is an impossible task for Asuka mains everywhere - and it is unfair for non-Asuka players to place that type of burden on them - Asuka the character was never as good as Gobou made him appear to be-- just as Daru_I-No's results were from raw player skill, and barely had anything to do with I-No's character strength. He plans on using Asuka in upcoming Asia tournaments, but mentioned that he's scared (I guess because he has considered Asuka a mediocre tournament character for so long) - so I am happy. Opinions do shift over time, so only time will tell if all Test Cases, or if just Case 3 was strengthened overall. Unfortunately, Gobou still believes the spells in Case 2 are very weak... now, Case 1 and 2 being weakened will not prevent those who believed Asuka was broken from losing against Asuka users - if they do not lab against this character and do nothing but bemoan and give up versus an Asuka player, they will get snowballed just as they did in the previous patch(es)...

I still have yet to play a season 4 match cause I'm just so discouraged, the RMS nerfs are legit so demoralizing lol. Everything else is meh to me, but I miss having plus 26 guard crush (who wouldn't lol)

      If you’re good at her pressure trust me it matters very little. The key is to always have at least one sword on you if they have burst. So if they do burst you aren’t completely sword less in neutral

      ​@superchaosnova5910 My issue with this idea is that I'd agree if Ram still has strong loopable pressure like she did before but she doesn't. If you throw the S Sword which Ram is gonna always wanna do and you lose your turn you're stuck without Ram's most important sword for ages. They really didn't need to increase the time the swords take to come back if they were already gonna take her ability to pick them up anyways it feels like they gave Ram all the tools to be fun then covered her in molasses at the very end

    I think Wings of Light needs some sort of rework. I like the concept of it in the way how damn goofy that is, but the risk/reward just isn't there. Maybe it should activate instantly and take only like 20-30% of tension but will have 0,5x of damage instead

      This sounds dangerous. Mainly because of setups into wings like 2K 2D or throw. Wings damages the opponent no matter what, even on knockdowns
      If wings activated immediately, even at half the damage, the guaranteed damage sounds scary

      Maybe making it a little harder to break the Wings of Light would be enough, right now it seems like it breaks from the slightest sneeze. Maybe make it so it's more of a move that you have to avoid taking a certain amount of damage for a certain amount of time, before you can use it.

      Wings of light only work when the Dizzy setups don't fail. There are many clips showing setups from 2k 2d/c.s 2HS but will make her play RPS after wings of light activation and considering dizzy cant keep you in a long block stun you are more likely to be pushed back out to neutral while also possibly losing wings of light to a jab, DP, long range moves, and slayer. Plus if you wall break with wings the timer resets ;-;

      She's not as much fun nor easy for me to use in neutral now since the sword throws are more risky while not being able to be picked up. I am however still enjoying and it is fun being now forced to learn other things on her. She does still seem to perform well. I do think I prefer playing dizzy tho now

      @@wendigoszn8594 oh 100% agree. I also don't like that now two of her moves (sword throw heavy slash and slash) are now so risky to use. Like before it was bad if you threw one across the map and failed at using the opportunity to force them fully into the corner for pressure but now she does feel quite samey as others but also as if she's missing stuff. Just bc the flip is also risky on block and the dp is death on block. Seeing a lot of rams in clips just using the jumping heavy slash over and over to poke. Not many other options being used. Don't recall that being the case but I haven't played in a while

      @@seamagician7042 The fact that swords always go and don't vanish on being hit is pretty big, people can't burst out of them and if they counter-hit you they'll still get exploded. Calvados does like 60-70% damage to a lot of people without any crazy combos. Finally having an overhead move that isn't 5D helps a lot too, as you'd have to spend meter to do any decent overhead before.
