I'm asking all of the Googan Squad (minus Flair, because....yeah) and I'm interested in hearing all of ya'll's answers. If you had just 3 rods to use, what would they be (power, length, action), how would they be set up (line, reel) and what would you fish with each? Love all the videos, keep up the good work!
1rod welcome to surf fishing during the summer time!! people are generally only concerned about them selves and don't give a F about anybody else. I do alot of shore casting doing the summer in San Diego and I have had many interesting interactions with people myself. I even had a mother (whom looked like one of the real house wife's of the OC) come up to my after I had been fishing for about two hours before anyone had started swimming and tell me I needed to move cause her children where going to be swinging where I was fishing. should of seen her face when I told her to get lost! I was loving it
+ScreamingTortise 3000 well I've surfed fished in the outer banks in North Carolina before and it was much better then San Diego but we catch fish out here I have fun
+Piscifun naw I've grown up surfing and surf fishing and wail surf fishing I have never hooked snagged or tangled with a swimmer. I also don't use a rod holder I cast and hold my rod at all times I know where my bait is at all times. But myself and other surfers have had issues with fishermen off of the pier in Oceanside CA.
Well that was a unique looking fish there at the beach. I'm a Michigan fisherman so I have never had the chance to do that type of fishing. Thumbs up on the vid, I enjoyed it!
+1Rod1ReelFishing I know ur the fishing expert but when you fish in salt water I recommend circle hooks because the fish are so aggressive they just take it and u don't have to set the hook on it just reel it in when I went I caught 3 jacks 5 lady fish and a stingray so thx for letting me watch this and remember my memory :)!!!
Dogfish, Sea Robins, and Skates. If you're fishing anywhere around Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, etc., that's pretty much all you're going to get from the surf unless you get lucky. They do get up to about 5 or 6 feet, though, but ones that big are hard to come by during the summer.
Those dog fish are real easy to catch down here in ireland, go out far with a big hook and a small chunk of meat, and you'll catch one in minutes, they get up to 3 feet here. Be careful though, because their skin can give you sand paper like burns if they wrap around your wrists.
Good video. At 3:10 when the surfers enter, I noticed you were holding your braided line over your left index finger. You DO NOT want to do that when salt water fishing. You get a giant fish that takes your line fast, and the braid will cut through your finger like butter.
Delaware Surf fishing, best on the drive on beaches early in the morning before all the tourists take to the beach. Night fishing is a lot of fun as well. Take a buddy with a kayak and drop lines about 100yds out and youll pull in large sharks.
Nice first fish and yes that is a dogfish usually when you see a dogfish that is not very good its a bad sign because that means that there is not many fish around.
1R1R you should do a challenge where u can only fish with the lures u get in your po box. Or buy some Chinese lures and try catch bass. But your videos are awesome dude. If u see this can u please reply.
After learning so much from going fishing the past couple of months, the first rig you showed at the beach was the hi-low rig with floaters lol. Nice I use that, catches lots of different fish.
Just a quick sugestion when picking up a dogfish watch out for the spike behind its dorsal fin its not poisonious but it can make an infection the ones you caught were smooth dogfish but there are some with those spikes
So first dogfish are not baby sharks they do not get much larger than as you caught. BUT the best way to fish them if you go again is to fish small bait fish plug cut and double hooked (tail+spine)
Fish Number 1 was a smoothound similar to dog fish see the large eyes and the light coloration on the back dogfish are like sandpaper much much rougher and usually try and curl around ya arm haha
Although it's a little late in the season for big sharks (water needs to be warm), you should head to the next state over (Cape May, New Jersey). There's a beach that I fish at where I've caught several 4ft+ sharks and dozens of fluke, bluefish, weakfish, and chad. Plus, if you miss shark season, striper season is just around the corner.
@simionradu3974 It's been a little while lol. July through September is usually peak season. For shark, I recommend the canal inlets, Cape May Point (Alexander Ave has a great reputation for weakfish, fluke, and shark), and any part of the bay from the Villas to the Point. In the bay, there won't be a lot of action unless your bait is on the sandbars, so it'll take a little trial and error per location. For bait, you can never go wrong with FRESH bunker or mackerel. I hope you have a great trip this summer and catch something that really gets your heart racing!
When i fish the beach and surfers come and cross my line, i gab my secondary pole with just a weight on it and toss it at them. It gives them a nice warning to move away. Just a personal option. If not, one time I caught a nice shark that jumped out of the water right next to 3 surfers....i didnt see those surfers the rest of the day
To my fishing friend, I've been watching your videos and I love all the videos. I wanna share a tip with you when fishing in salt water in the fishing pier. Try to use white squid. Make sure that the squid is not yellow. That will help you catch pompano and red snappers very quickly. From Angel Guadiania.
Hey rod! Just lettin u know I'm good at both waters but when fishin salt water I like to use minnows, sand fleas, or live crabs. And ur wrong! U r an expert! U helped me lean so many new bass tricks thnx so much! I appreciate that u make fishing videos and stay strong and keep ur lines tight bro
"get out of my face seagull, they are like the geese of the ocean" 😂

+wetfly2010 lol... I'd pick a 7'3" MH/f 7'0" MH/mod-fast and a 6'8" med/fast
+1Rod1ReelFishing cool, what about line/reels to accompany the rods, and what you'd focus on for each rod?
Mm

hows surf fishing in san Diego
+ScreamingTortise 3000
well I've surfed fished in the outer banks in North Carolina before and it was much better then San Diego but we catch fish out here I have fun
That is kind dangerous to do surf fishing if there are too many people around.
+Piscifun naw I've grown up surfing and surf fishing and wail surf fishing I have never hooked snagged or tangled with a swimmer. +Keegan Phillips I'm far from an expert, and in the salt I'm a noob :P thanks for the tips on circle hooks, I need to pick some up!
+1Rod1ReelFishing make sure they're inline circles, the octopus ones are no better than j hooks.
plottwist you caught the same fish 3 times in a row
Lol
@@nickdesert7304 😂😂you comment in a commentary that was 3 years ago posted 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Lol 1rod is finally learning about beachgoers and surffishing its not a surf trip if someone doesnt hit your lines. Also clam is a great bait!

Logan Foote You haven’t made any vids lol.
Lmao 4 oz? I barely use 3 oz for 5ft leopards sharks he just trying to make money out of you
ikr I was thinking about that too
i have to use 8-12 where i fish.. east coast/beast coast. ;)
We had a storm surge from the tropical storm hermine (I live in Delaware btw) 4 ounces was a good call and is what I regularly use on the same beaches
True
Yeah when I fish the salt in jersey 4 oz is about 4x too heavy unless you're offshore
You always make my day when my dad and I don’t catch anything I watch you
the "bitemarks" came from a crab
Yeah
What is that?
+Piscifun a crab is animal that has pinchers and a crab has legs that can only side to side

Great surf fishing video bro. Really liked it. And def a good idea to mix it up. Especially since the hurricane is coming our way bro.
Love Rehoboth for Fishing and just going to the beach!
the baby shark looks so innocent and cute HAHA
The shark in the picture was like "if you would put me back in the water, that would be great"
Great video mate....nice beach to fish also..go for the big ones out there. Greetzzz John
The bait fish you used is spearing a usually shy fish that die quickly when they are out of the water due to lots of stress
Nice first fish and yes that is a dogfish usually when you see a dogfish that is not very good its a bad sign because that means that there is not many fish around.
How funny would it be if you were essentially catching the same dogfish over and over again? LOL!
1R1R you should do a challenge where u can only fish with the lures u get in your po box. Or buy some Chinese lures and try catch bass. But your videos are awesome dude. If u see this can u please reply.
This channel is pretty cool. I know nothing about fresh water fishing.
Wow I LOVE your vids this is my first day watching you and I love your vids!!!!!
ABSOLUTELY BEST BAIT SHOP IN THE WORLD, my grandma owns a beach house down there and that is the best place ever
This is why i love sand sharks
After learning so much from going fishing the past couple of months, the first rig you showed at the beach was the hi-low rig with floaters lol. Nice I use that, catches lots of different fish.
watch out, the spiny dogfish can spine you, but that could have been a smooth dogfish
U inspire me to fish ur the best RUclipsr ever
You should make more of the shore fishing videos at the ponds you used too do. Recently you have traveling a lot, still great vids though!
Just a quick sugestion when picking up a dogfish watch out for the spike behind its dorsal fin its not poisonious but it can make an infection the ones you caught were smooth dogfish but there are some with those spikes
Actually the dogfish was a paid actor.....for his girlfriend birthday 😎😂😂😂😂😂😂😎😎😎😎😎

I hate when people want to mess with your fishing, especially when they got the entire beach!
Have some Dolles popcorn, Thrashers fries, and Grotto Pizza for me. Grew up near there... Surf fished there a bunch.
thats a weird lookin fish doggo right there
When i fish the beach and surfers come and cross my line, i gab my secondary pole with just a weight on it and toss it at them. It gives them a nice warning to move away. Just a personal option. If not, one time I caught a nice shark that jumped out of the water right next to 3 surfers....i didnt see those surfers the rest of the day
Who needs nets? 😂
Grew up buying bait at old inlet. Try fishing off the peers by the bridge. Massive sharks all summer long
these are like the geese of the ocean! hahaha
Baby shark doo doo baby shark doo doo baby shark!
You should spend an entire 24 hours on the ocean (like on a boat) and try to catch as many fish as possible
To my fishing friend, I've been watching your videos and I love all the videos. I wanna share a tip with you when fishing in salt water in the fishing pier. Try to use white squid.
