You are SO good at drawing! :D I think the color palette of the original was okay, and I really loved the flower crown, but the new version looks much more put-together (like it's one character, rather than multiple in one body). I also think leaning into the red was a good idea, with the yellow and black for contrast. I would have used different brushes for it, but that brush works for your style. Also, nice shading, I love the hair style, the gloves are cool, the belt is cool, and the glasses are cool. Very cool ^U^ I have SO MANY unfinished pieces of art. Like, a couple dozen unfinished stories, a bunch of unfinished art and character designs, songs that I'll never finish writing, etc, etc, etc. Sometimes I'll go back to them and see what I can add to them, but for the most part, I'll come to a roadblock, try to overcome it, fail, and drop the project. Obviously, you can't give up so easily, but at the same time, if a project isn't worth your time and effort, then it isn't worth your time and effort. Learn something from it, and move on. You'll get closer and closer to finishing things every time you do ^U^ Also, writing and drawing have very translatable skills. They're practically the same thing!
