- A look at Wambelong Campground in the Warrumbungles.
Wambelong Campground is a smaller camp in the Warrumbungles National Park. It has everything you need to be comfortable while camping.Wambelong Campground is near the main road but I doubt it sees a huge amount of night time traffic, so it would be a pleasant spot.
I hope you enjoy Wambelong Campground.

I’m liking the spotlight on campgrounds mate. Keep me coming. Can imagine wow awesome that campground would be after a bit of decent rain with some green vegetation around and a flowing creek.
AdventuringPals Thanks mate, I think it would be very nice. Cheers Steve
Looks like a nice spot Steve 👍
It's not bad at all Paul. Cheers Steve
Great campsite review mate. Thanks
My pleasure, thanks for watching. Cheers Steve
Grass would sure make the area more appealing. Maybe some people would consider being near the road an advantage. Thanks Steve.
You never know Geoff. Certainly grass is always nicer. Cheers Steve
Looks an awesome place to camp. 30° at 11am 😱😱😱 no wonder it’s dry 🤩🤩🤩
Its nice spot for sure mate, here in Oz it gets hot. Cheers Steve
That looks like a great little spot and maybe its a bit less packed compared to some more popular ones. Thanks for sharing mate

No rain in 3 years!! Those of us living near the coast have it so good. Wonder what its like after rain?
Scott RoyGbiv It would be good to see the area after good rain I reckon. Cheers Steve
Back in the Warrambungles... Great looking place from what you have shown so far. So much so it's on the To-Do list for me now. I hope to get up there sometime this winter. I just completed a trip out in the mountains in NSW and the sky was clear only 33km from Mudgee so I can imagine how nice it would be here.
Hope you enjoy it when you get there mate, Its a lovely area. Cheers Steve
Nice flat area. looking at the hills it looks like it might of been in the fires so lucky this area survived if thats the case.
Its a great spot John, I think it was spared from the worst of the fires. Would be nice after some rain. Cheers Steve
Thanks for the vid Steve. Jill and I are heading there in July to do the Grand Hightops. Would you recommend camping here, Blackman, or Walaay. We are looking for the site with fewest people and the “wildest”. I realise of course it’s a popular national park and easily accessible by all.
Hi Terry, I think for you this one might be best. The breadknife and Grand High tops is an awesome hike mate. Enjoy. Cheers Steve
Mudduck's 4wd Touring thanks Steve, we will “make it so”. Cheers
