Hi Sam, Curves is currently not one of the prioritised features. Please do us a favour and create a feature request at captureone.com/support, so our developers know what tools our community would like to see on the app. Beatrise, Capture One
How about the fujifilm Filmsimulation? I hope it will include to the next update and also the Healing and masking tools so I can totally moved to C1 from Lr.
Hi Jorell, I can't say if this will be included in the next update, but we are working on all of these features. Please make sure to follow our social channels and/or subscribe to our newsletter to be the first to find out news like this. Best regards, Beatrise, Capture One
I want work only from iPad , I need properly raw editing with external drive , so I often work on ride , so don’t have internet . Can I do basic correction , external work and use mask or what correction can make , can it’s support Fuji gfx100s raw?
Fuji GFX100s RAW is indeed supported. We have had similar requests for working on external drive but there are some challenges with iOS in this regard.
I would say, those functions are too basic, when will it support layer or film simulation of fujifilm?I‘d like to use a fully functional C1 not a abridged one, so subscription is impossible.
I need to pass until you come up with a 2-way sync. I want to edit my photos wherever I want to, on whichever device I choose, at any stage of my workflow. (Fine PS retouching put aside). Keep up the great work, though. We will get there.
What a wonderful app. I shoot both Sony and Olympus (OM). I can import both Sony and OM RAW files, but I cannot see the OM photos before import. Is this an Apple issue?
Hi Rob, The app support all the same cameras as the desktop version, so as long as it is on the list of supported cameras, it should work. Unfortunately, I can't say if this is an Apple problem, but I'm sure my colleagues at customer support will be able to help you, so please reach out to them on support.captureone.com. Best regards, Beatrise, Capture One
@Cory Stuart Exactly. I wish Affinity would come out with a software like capture one, or add functionality to one of their apps, I would gladly pay for that upgrade.
please keep capture pilot alive going forward. I frequently work off grid and bring my own local network. We do not have access to the internet on site, save for satellite.
Hi John, You will not be able to work directly from an external hard drive. Images need to be imported into the Capture One app. You can of course import images from an external hard drive. We know this is a highly requested feature and we will investigate it in the future. Beatrise, Capture One
Am I missing something? Can I start on my desktop and move images to the cloud and download on iPad? Odds are I would start on desktop and move to editing on the go.
@@MathanMaglaya Understood. So it is not a Cloud Sync, It is just a Cloud Transfer. I shoot with the Fuji GFX with huge files so my desktop is usually my first stop.
@@GeorgeDrake Exactly, in its current iteration it’s simply cloud transfers. Cloud Sync is definitely on the horizon though - from what I’ve heard. I did wonder about internet usage, since my raw files are also equally large (100mb+ each photo), so I think I’m still in favour of taking my laptop with me for wireless tether. I shoot on Sony Alpha 7 IV.
yeah this is deal breaker for me and frustrating. I do a shoot. Come home. upload to the new Mac studio and back it up....THEN I want to sync to my iPad and head out...downstairs, coffee shop, wherever. THIS is backwards...I'm supposed to unload 1500 RAW images from r5 onto my iPad???? HUH.
@@JohnPyle that's how I feel as well. I guess if you are at a shoot and want to start the edit immediately I get it but this feels like a hassle for my personal work flow. Without sync you only have one chance or you start duplicating files. I've waited this long without going back to lightroom I guess I can wait a little longer.
Why not just use a MacBook Air? Its macOS is more versatile, it already has a keyboard, already supports tether capture, etc. And M1 iPad 10.9 w/keyboard *_weighs more_* than the Air, which has a larger screen, larger battery, and costs less! The use case for Capture One iPad Pro is not totally clear to me.
I am desktop guy that just hates laptops (no use for a keyboard that takes up half the space/weight) but I have been using an Ipad for 10 years or so. This software is made for people like me.
Welcome C1 iPad! Beta tester then new subscriber since 28 June 2022, perfect to complete the full desktop version. Expecting soon: Levels, Layers, Masks, Merge (HDR, Panorama), etc. to be more efficient on the go, relying on powerful M1 iPad. Screen calibration (iPad) should be fixed with next iPad OS. Bravo
Looks great! Now I can take only my iPad on safari and save some weight on the small planes. When on safari I really only need to do culling and review photos to be sure my camera settings are correct. I can also export photos for instagram and then move all my photos to the desktop when I get home.
I just tried C1 iPad Pro and then unsubscribed. It is not worth for my money. This version doesn’t has layers so it cannot use brush or any tools. It should be free version and it worse more then the first version in Lightroom mobile.
I can easily come back with 30-80 GB of images if I’m photographing BIF. These will require significant culling. I use my iPad every day but I can’t possibly imagine how it could be used to efficiently sort through massive numbers of images. So no, I don’t anticipate using this feature. What Capture One desperately needs is an AI masking tool similar to the Object Selection tool in Photoshop 2022. Efficient masking or the lack thereof will make or break a RAW processing program. This is where your effort should be spent!
Masking enables wildlife photographers to isolate the subject with varying degrees of background blur that are image dependent. An efficient AI algorithm such as used in the Photoshop Object Selection tool greatly reduces the time needed to effectively mask the animal. In addition, background blur significantly reduces noise in images that may have been cropped, captured in suboptimal lighting, or taken at high shutter speed. Clearly Adobe would not have invested in this technology if it had a limited market. These steps are largely unnecessary If you can nearly fill your viewfinder with an animal while looking at it with through a 600 mm lens. The effective manipulation of the layers is where creativity quite literally enters the picture.
@@jackmcewan6308 Thanks Jack for clarification. When I hear AI, I’m thinking of sky replacement and stuff like that. Well, if theres a way AI can help you to better use your tools, than I‘m with you. But keep in mind: Every new feature makes a software more complex - and with that come more user skills and a higher chance of software issues. E. g. The panorama feature is still not working flawless. In photography I am going now the opposite way - and my images getting better. When was the last time a software helps you to get better images? I am afraid, AI won‘t … Cheers
@@nuenn Good point! AI won’t make your images better but it will help you arrive at better images with a lot less time and effort. For example, the Object Selection tool allows to mask an animal or person with a single mouse click or two. This tool is not perfect and some touch up may be required. To accurately mask a bird in C1 may require 25 minutes of effort whereas a comparable mask can be performed in Photoshop 2022 in less than one minute. It’s the AI that allows Photoshop to perform the object recognition. Hope this clarifies the issue.
@@jackmcewan6308 it’s entirely unrelated to C1 for iPad. Also, C1 is a Raw editor and cataloguing system, Photoshop is a pixel editor, entirely different things, one doesn’t preclude the other. I don’t use Ligthroom, so I don’t know if it has the feature, but that would be the comparable example. Does LR even have layers or masking? I import, tag and cull with Photo Mechanic before importing to C1, then edit my selects, and where required any final edits are opened into Affinity Photo and edited, eg if portraits require skin touch ups, finer cleanup around the image, etc. That’s what it’s designed for and much better suited for than a Raw editor. AI masking would be a great feature for C1 to be sure, it would make masking of hair much easier, but not the highest priority. It’s pretty cool I can do without opening up in an image editor for most things, but sometimes it’s the better choice.
I’m sad to see there is no local syncing P2P support so I can sync large amounts of data really fast over my home network instead of having to upload to the cloud from my computer and then downloading from the cloud on my ipad. I shoot on an a7riv and I’ll offload over 100+GB of pictures every weekend. Something like resilio, but then again I can see how that would not make much financial sense if you’re trying to sell cloud storage on a subscription. So 🤷♂️?
You could also export EIP files (RAW + Edits) and Air drop those to your system. But your suggestion is of course smart as well! Please make a request at support.captureone.com
I have recently updated my pc for with a new GPU but have been having issue with capture one pro 20, which is the version I am currently running. I'm a professional studio photographer so use capture alot for work but when it comes to using the heal or clone tool it is causing my images to be overexposed when I zoom in. Don't know what is happening. Also when I export the image it is way too overexposed and its a real big problem.
HI Jonathan. We agree that's certainly the case for many customers, but also has no value for many others. As we said in the livestream, tethering is in development.
The camera profile is indeed set correctly based on the camera. Currently you don't have access to change the Base characteristics, but it's not correct to say that the camera is profile-less.
@@CaptureOne No sir, I’ve never said that the camera is profile-less. When I talk of proper camera profiles, I mean different profiles are needed for different purposes. When shooting products or fashion we often need very accurate colors so we use color checkers to built profiles, or we also use profiles made by others (and I’m not talking about presets), and many of the profiles automatically provided by C1 have inaccurate colors. Sometimes we use profiles that were built by the manufacturer that represent the mood we need for the type of photography we do: some wedding photographers might want to use the Classic Chrome profile from Fujifilm (even though they set their camera to Acros to help them with focus). Profiles and tone curves are the foundation/ the starting point of editing. Yes there might be people who are be satisfied with using the profile C1 automatically provides but there are many professional photographers who cannot use them. Is this app not meant at all for professionals or passionate photographers who want to use their own profiles?
