I listened to this the night it was broadcast and taped it,dug out the tape thirty years later to find it had oxidised, along with several other tapes of peel shows I'd recorded, Good time to be seventeen.
Superb session from a band who were to become a monumental institution in more ways than one from the city of Derry not far from where I grew up. Oh, the memories as a snotty adolescent listening in to the Peel Show beyond what was supposed to be my bedtime. Good times they were.
The Undertones were phenomenal live...there is a brilliant live show that is one of their last on here...it smokes

Imo, their best Peel session. Not least, because of the sound quality and the van Morrison analogy. Peel was a genius too.
