- My wife and I went to Hersehy Park for the first time. We celebrated our 10th anniversary of being together.
Filmed on a GoPro Hero3 with chesty mount.
Skyrush and Farenheit were not working that day. Later on they got Farenheit working but it soon stopped working so we didnt bother.
That was awesome! I live near Hershey and my best friend and I have season passes this year. I am disabled so I am not able to ride many of the attractions there. I love coasters so this video made me feel like I was really riding them!!! I love The Great Bear the best. I have never actually been on it though, I have been on Sooper Dooper Looper, and Lighting Racer before though. Those wooden coasters really beat me up. Happy 10th Anniversary! And thanks again for the great video! :)

Thank you for posting this video it brought me back. My father was in the military and so we got to go tons of times and we brought some of our friends to. Our four favorite rides at the time was the storm runner, wildcat, comet, and thunder racing roller coaster. We would ride those four tons and tons of times. Those are our four favorite roller coasters.
HAPPY TENTH!! I've been going to Hershey Park since 1960 and am so glad you all got to go there...one of my favorite parks! Lightning Racer is the best woodie I've been on as far as sheer fun goes, as the interaction you have with passengers of the other train.

Me and my friend were there that same day. We rode all of the coasters even SKYRUSH!
4:50 Actually those are magnets, to be specific magnetic brakes. If the train doesn't make it over the hill and rolls back those magnets are designed to bring it to a safe stop.

The drop on comet is insane.
Ahh, Yes, That could be a problem. One solution is to always sit in the front LOL. I used the GoPro Chesty. It is a chest harness. You can shift it up higher on the chest a bit. The biggest issue was to have it secured. Positively secured. A headstrap would not be secure haha. The torso makes a great platform as your CG is there. So it helps to stabilize the camera.
great job on the compilation & congratulations....How did you hold the camera on each ride?
@LightningVoltage they have little cubby compartment spaces for most of the newer rides on the other side of the tracks, or a marked space for things and you just pick it up after the ride. Of course there's a risk that someone could accidentally take stuff, but it's pretty well guarded. Have fun!

I mentioned it earlier in another comment. GoPro Hero3 Black Ed. and Chesty Rig. GoPro is wrapped in "The Frame" so it is as small as possible. Since it was in the 50s F I was wearing my TAD Gear Stealth Hoodie (soft shell with fleece liner) The GoPro sits inbetween the zipper. So I just unzip a little and expose the camera.

Going there August 1st!! Its my first time
I actually called the office and asked what the policy was on filming on roller coaster. The woman said. Long as it is secured and can't fall off, there is no problem. But since it was cold I was wearing my TAD Gear Stealth Hoodie soft shell jacket. I wore the GoPro on the chest harness. So whenI got on the ride, I just unzip my jacket. The Hero 3 with Frame housing is very small. So it doesn't poke out much in the jacket.

The chesty is sort of like a bra. Bt since I don't have moobs, I can shift the whole thing up a bit. Also you can buy short and long extensions that go inbetween the gopro frame and mount. To raise the gopro up a bit.

Lol even though comet is a family ride and not scary at all, I had a final destination moment because it's so old and if you look at the lift chain on the way up, the track is crooked

And yeah, the Wildcat is a furious ride. It's kind of the point. Shame it and Lightning Racers aren't more popular.

I called in advance and asked about filming the rides. The lady I spoke with said as long as the camera is NOT hand held and secured, it is ok. However some of the rider operators did say I cant film. So not everyone knows what is going on. It was cold that day so I was wearing a jacket anyway. I would unzip my jacket as we rolled out.

Nathan, Chocolate world and Hershey Park are NOT the same thing. You can go to one and not the other. Wife and I drove by and stopped at Chocolate World. But we didnt have time to go to Hershey Park. We were just driving thru. This time We skipped Chocolate World and went to Hershey Park.
Yeah... I live right near Hershey and Skyrush is NEVER open...
