    1 box chocolate cake mix, or one "from scratch" chocolate cake
    (eggs, oil, water or milk called for on box mix)
    8 oz happy cream cheese at room temperature
    14 oz can sweetened condensed milk
    1 cup creamy peanut butter
    12 oz Cool Whip, divided
    12 oz hot fudge (reserve a bit for drizzling at the end as garnish)
    8 peanut butter cups quartered
    Prepare cake mix according to package directions, bake as as soon as it comes out of the oven, poke holes all over it with a fork or the handle end of a wooden spoon.
    Pour hot fudge over warm cake and spread out evenly.
    Allow to cool completely.
    Blend the cream cheese and the sweetened condensed milk together and then blend in the peanut butter.
    Fold in half the Cool Whip.
    Spread peanut butter mixture evenly over cake.
    Spread remaining Cool Whip over peanut butter layer.
    Sprinkle with peanut butter cup pieces and drizzle with more hot fudge or chocolate syrup.

    poke the cake with a knife. the holes the fork makes is to small for the chocolate to seep through

      I was talking to a friend she suggested weting the cake with 1/2 or 3/4 cup of milk after forking the cake. She said it makes the cake moist and then top of with the chocolate sauce.

    • @yoyomax12
      @yoyomax12  7 лет назад +1

      I think wetting the cake with a diluted form of chocolate syrup or a simple syrup would help alot

    • @yoyomax12
      @yoyomax12  7 лет назад +2

      Bigger holes may have helped, but I think a thinner syrup would have been better. Thanks for watching!

    I made this last night and wished I had found your video yesterday!!!! My bad! Your videos ALWAYS are the best in giving tips and hints. I too am worried that my hot fudge did not seep into the holes and my cake will be on the dry side. I will look up the other chocolate cake recipe you suggested and try this cake again. Thank so much YOYO! Catch ya later with another update! Also, thanks to ALL the posts here with great suggestions too!

    I made this today. I use Duncan Hines super moist triple chocolate fudge mix. The cake is not dry but moist. The fudge seeped through the cake just fine. I imagine after a few days in the refrigerator the cake will not be dry. All of the other ingredients will through. I select the lite sweetened condensed milk and low fat cool whip. The cake is really rich and sweet. You only need a small serving to satisfy your sweet tooth.

      Update from my previous comment on Jun 3, 2018. I previously mentioned this dessert is really sweet. At first it is to me after I made it. It has been few a days now and it tastes even better. All of the flavors have gone through and not as sweet anymore. I will make it again. Next time I’ll substitute the peanut butter for custard or pudding instead.

    What if you mixed condensed milk with the hot fudge to thin it out? That way it seeps into the holes better and isn't so thick.

    Poke it with a straw, put chocolate in a bottle with a tip, and squirt into the holes, or a cake decorating bag, with the long tip that fills up donuts.

    I have heard of adding pudding mix to the cake mix to make it moister. Could that be done here? Or maybe use a chocolate cake recipe called Wacky Chocolate Cake a.k.a. Depression Cake because that is extremely moist. =) Just a couple of ideas I thought I would put out there. I love Reese's Peanut Butter Cups....not sure they would last in my house long enough to cut up and put on top of the cake. LOL

    Suggestions for your dislikes mentioned in the video... 1) use chop sticks to poke, instead of a fork, bigger holes... or 2) use a sheet cake pan to thin the cake part and drizzle with simple syrup or flavored syrup of your choice to moisten it. Hope the helps.

    I like mega moist gooey cake so I always soak them in syrup. I usually make a thinnish syrup (think like hot melted honey thickness) and pour it on hot, I have no problems with it sinking into the cake even without holes :)

    what if you poured a box of prepared chocolate pudding mix over the top of cake to make the cake moist instead of using the chocolate syrup? Just a suggested.

    • @derwen85
      @derwen85 7 лет назад

      In the Tasty site they did use the chocolate syrup on top of cake. They just put the cream cheese,peanut butter and condensed milk mixture over the top of cake. This could be why the cake is not moist?

    • @derwen85
      @derwen85 7 лет назад

      Error:In the Tasty site they DID NOT use the chocolate syrup. :(

    • @derwen85

      But it could be that your holes are just not big enough. Going to try this sometime. Love making the poke cakes. They are so simple and everyone loves them. Maybe I`ll make one for my birthday next month.

      You're wrong using whipped cream for this recipe causes the collapse of two separate but very important dimensions that affect our perception of space-time in this reality.
