Xbox Account BANNED for Bot Followers. It happened. It’s real… and it actually happened to someone. It doesn’t take a genius to know that using bots can get you banned from the Xbox Network. Microsoft apparently takes things like this seriously. And as much as it is against the Xbox Code of Conduct and Xbox ToS to use bots for any reason on the Xbox Network, I never seen Microsoft ban an account for it. It was one of those “unwritten rules.” “Don’t do it, you can get banned for it. I don’t know who gets banned for it since we never see it happen but just don’t do it.”
On Twitter, I received a DM from someone who claimed to had been permabanned for using bot followers on their Xbox account. They sent me a picture of their screen which showed the ban. The person who sent me this appealed this, believing this may have been some new Xbox Exploit with the use of bots. The appeal was denied, and the reason said it in 4K.
“Manipulating the followers or other data related to friends and followers through unauthorized software or unauthorized interactions with Xbox services.”
Microsoft ACTUALLY permanently banned someone for using bot followers. Something that isn’t usually heard of everyday. It was always clear to me that using Xbox Bots can get you permanently banned from Xbox Live. It’s against Microsoft’s ToS. But I never imagined it to be actively enforced.
Ever since the release of the Xbox One, the Xbox platform has been designed like a social media outlet. You can have followers, DMs, etc. All of these can be manipulated by bots. It happens on pretty much every social media platform in 2024. Yes, those followers are Xbox Bots. But why does something as simple as bot followers get you permabanned from Xbox? Isn’t that a little too extreme? Considering these bot followers were only following a single account. They weren’t used to “deteriorate” the Xbox service. Why not simply “correct” the followers after seeing they’re bots? That’s a simple, cheap, and effective solution. Instead, Xbox Enforcement bans an account permanently for it. If these bots were being used for “toxic purposes,” then I get it. But they were simply being used to make someone’s following appear larger. It didn’t hurt anyone. That’s a rule of the Xbox ToS that I’ll never understand. But then again, they’re still bots. And they were still being manipulated on the Xbox Network. I get it.
If Microsoft doesn’t allow bot followers, why even make gamers have followers? Xbox is a gaming platform, not social media. Let us have friends, not followers. I never agreed with Microsoft’s decision to steer Xbox into a gaming/social media hybrid.

@@wyattgrimm8175 what difference is it gonna make to have fake followers on other platforms? Fake followers are fake followers, period.
Getting banned for botted followers is a very rare sighting as long as you didn't do it yourself and your IP doesn't show in the token locks. One quick appeal to the enforcement team explaining the situation should immediately do the job. I once had over 800k followers because someone targeted me and tried to get me banned for my OG GT and never have i been banned for it as i immediately messaged the support team explaining the situation beforehand and they even removed the followers down to 80k.
Another safe way to avoid getting follower bot spammed is to go into your account settings and enable that nobody can add you. You can take precautions and do it right away or enable it once you've realized you've been targeted.

That sucks ass, I got permanent suspension because of botted followers and my appeal got denied, I guess the weirdo spoofed his IP to mines somehow, which makes more sense now.
I was surrounded by those types of people the OG gamertag community on instagram and I’m guessing that one post of me posting my gamertag on my story might have caused it. Honestly, I’ve been trying to find ways to do something about it since last year but I’ve given up now and moved to PC.

i remember getting my ambassador taken away fro doing the right thing and punishing those who truly broke rules and gave reasonable doubt even chance to prove they didnt go it very from game to game tho
Personally I think they should go for bigger issues. Who’s gonna just say “THIS GUY GAVE HIS SELF FOLLOWERS? OH MY GOSH THIS RUINED MY WHOLE ENTIRE LIFE!!! I NEED TO INFORM MICROSOFT BECAUSE THIS GUY GAVE HIM OWN SELF NUMBERS ON HIS PROFILE TO MAKE HIMSELF LOOK COOL!!!!” Like cmon Xbox, In the 360 Days you could hack on CoD and call people Racial slurs without getting banned lol. Now in these days you get banned for having extra numbers In your profile.

Ik txrd and he wasn't the only, we were in the same discord server for follower botting, about 10 others hot banned, I ended up getting console banned so I'm getting pc, over 10k followers, just a shame

That’s not true he probably typed an ip inside of his messages which got my friend banned and they, the enforcement team are trying to crack down on possible ddos offenders and then botted followers which could’ve caught attention to moderation or not but usually it has no affect (The enforcement team never tells the reason of a perma ban btw)

I think I recently found a Halo Infinite hacker - likely running midnight software or a DMA hardware setup... the guy went the whole 9 yards for "projecting legitimacy".
1. 500k followers botted on XBL (2yr old account)
2. 25k followers on twitch (not 1 VOD ever)
3. 20k X followers (no public posts)
4. Bio states "won over 130 Halo tournaments 2009 - 2020" (i am a 17 yr pro scene fanatic - this guy is a mystery)
5. Uses Final Boss team icon as his own brand across media.
6. His XBL account is private and api calls for his game stats are set to private / denied.
Nothing adds up at all so my whole team of mates submit a xbl report and I'm hopeful we'll get a "action has been taken upon your recent submission" notice in the next week.
i got banned for adding 20 followers to my main account by which i made through the xbox app meanwhile since then i have come across active users with 70k 10k etc and i get banned for making 20 😂
i got 75K followers and my friends got 100k and 250k, no one ever got banned lol. tho we don't use follower bots since 5 months ago and i also quited xbox to focus on my life more

The bot followers are crazy but what’s crazier is ppl can get you banned the reason I say this is cuz I was doing 2v2’s on R6 and somebody got mad at me and what he did was spam bots to add me which was crazy I haven’t been banned yet and I hope I don’t get banned cuz of these bots that I didn’t want and I should point out why he did this and reason why he did spam bots to add me was to burn up my Xbox and make it lag which it did it actually did make me lag like crazy but the way I stopped it was by turning off my Xbox

This probably wasn't your most recent video you did like I'm thinking it is nor I still am certain if I want to start my own channel especially with all the anger and usedness I have towards Microsoft and other companies such as Rockstar because either way they have just been a major disappointment lately but regardless how do you actually get suspended from being friends with a bot whatever those are and why would Xbox even ban you for that when for all the enforcement team knows is that could be a real person, I mean I called and had them cannel my susception to ultimate a few minutes ago but yeah despite if I only got $18.01 back happy 4th you fuckers if big corporations can somehow read comments we make on RUclips also.

Lowkey starting to think rgh users ruined black ops 2 I’ve meet several rgh users and they all freeze everyone’s console in every game they get it because it makes them feel powerful while infection users are annoying but I think people started using infections because there tired of being abused by rgh no life’s who sit on the game and crash every lobby they can I’ve asked most the pepole w modded consoles why they end the game and make it unplayable they say because it’s fun for them. I’ve seen this one hacker make search and destroy go from 54 playing to 0 strictly off of freezing lobbys I think there should be a infection where we can have anti freeze protection I can’t even play black ops 2 without my internet going out or getting crashed
As one of the original Xbox Ambassadors I will say the Xbox Ambassador is a joke. The Ambassador discord is more worried about pride and disabilities more than actually doing their job and working in the forums or helping other gamers with issues. Don't join the discord as you will quickly be called out and possibly banned if you try to bring anything regarding any of this up.

That doesn’t apply to all ambassadors. I used to be one. It’s a way of saying Microsoft allows anyone to be an ambassador, despite them saying an ambassador should be someone who doesn’t abuse the Xbox Network. Sorry if you were offended. :(
