At the beginning of the video I looked at the price and thought... nah... probably not for me. But as you kept showing examples of different looks you can get (especially compared to tube lights) the price slowly became irrelevant and the idea of owning this light became more and more friendly to me. Great video and very impressive light.
So I actually wasn’t suppose to be apart of this launch but I liked the light so much that I begged them to let me do a video 😂 After trying it I was hooked
THESE ARE ON BLACK FRIDAY SALE FOR $254. I BOUGHT 2 🤓 I actually didn't know the barn doors came off till I saw this video! thanks ! i love this light, its stupid bright!!!
Another excellent video my guy. You're my main go to when it comes to gear videos! Partnering with you is worth every penny the way you expertly showcase products!!
Hey thanks for the lighting tutorial! Every light has its best use case - this light is great as a key, tube lights seem better as a fill. Does this light come with other modifiers beyond the super useful barn doors?
Yes cause with a grid! I had a setup with it but the video was getting too long haha. And it comes with some connection so you can link multiple together
This light has a grid too, it actually goes over the barn doors so it’s super sturdy. But when you use grids you also lose a stop or two of light.. so those tube lights get dimmed even more
Great Vid as always! As a photographer (that should really offer video too) I've been looking at continuous lights for a a while, love the speedy freedom they give me at inside locations compared to strobes. I've looking at the smaller lights for portability etc ie. the Godox ML100 Bi, Zhiyun options, Rotolight etc. Would you say this is a better 'goto' for its shape and barn doors etc compared to the circular form factor?
ZHIYUN FIVERAY F100 is 100 watts tube light WITH barn doors (optional) LOVE WHAT YOU DO, pointing out this not to be an asshole, but to know what the difference is and which is better. The Zhiyun Fiveray F100 is $249usd aprox.
It’s only 30w in RGB mode… the C100 is 100w FULL COLOR. I use the color mode a lot so I’d confidently say for myself it’s worth it. If you go to their site and see the spec you’ll quickly get your answers
It looks designed to compete with the Apature Infinibar PB3 which is 1/10th the wattage, but that doesn't mean 1/10th the output. I'd love to see a comparison.
I feel like there was a wand version of this several years ago but I don"t remember much about it. Maybe just a barndoor accessory to a tube light. Either way more features is good
@@cammackey I don’t even think lighting should be relegated to just the world DP’s and the like any longer. Hey Cam, random question. What do you use to charge your Hasselblad batteries? Mine take for ever. Charging 3 batteries almost takes a full day. Which is crazy, bc 3 batteries doesn't last a full day of shooting :-/ I'm wondering if my charger is messed up.... ciao
I still only have one battery! Lasts me all day, but I mainly use the 907X for still live and adventure stuff. So I’m conservative with the battery honestly. And then I just plug it in to USBC if it starts getting low to give it a boost
Cam, I gotta say, I was VERY skeptical about this product, and I thought your video title was sure to be clickbait. "Invented a new type of light"? As if. Dude, you did such a good job with this video that not only did you completely change my mind about this product (I thought it was just another light wand) but I'm subscribing too. Fantastic content!
Hahaha thank you!!! Man if only you knew the daily struggle I have with being overly honest haha. I wouldn’t be so excited over things if I didn’t actually like them.
Does your Bronco just have metal panel overhead or did you modify your car to have that? Super cool being able to mount things overhead like you did Most cars I've seen are fabric overhead!
I was about to buy zihuyn lights but the battery issue in molus x100 hold me. So as much as I love their idea of designing these super innovative lights, I feel like i have to wait for updated relability of them. Btw love way you're making your videos or even mini film showing off your filmmaking skills - keep going!
Yeah I don’t imagine the battery issue thing is gonna happen again. I’m sure they’re hyper aware of that now so probably trying to be extra cautious with what they put out haha
Hey man can’t think like that! You got guys like Kofi who went hard for two years and got a lot of opportunities while doing so. It’s all about the quality of work AND learning what RUclips likes with titles and thumbnails and such. I’ll tell you, even the big big RUclipsrs are constantly trying to keep up and figure it out haha. But if you can make solid videos that showcase the gear well.. they’ll work with ya! But hey we all gotta start somewhere as well!!! So keep doing you brother, can’t think like that tho! Just gotta stay working and trying to stand out!!
@@cammackey much appreciated!! Honestly this would sit closer to a small panel like a f21c than a regular tube. I always overstimate how bright tubes are, looking in camera they barely show up unless you plant them right in the middle of the scene.
Oh my bad, I left so much stuff out cause I was excited over how I’ve been using it 😂. So at 100% I feel like I get around an hour or so. But a lot of ye times I don’t need it at 100%.. so overall I’m able to use it a few times before having to charge it

Hi Cam! Amazing video, that car storm set up was something else UFFFFFF. Regarding the cinepeer, how's the fan noise? At 100 watt output it worries me that it might be a bit loud for low budget narrative projects. Man just when I was leaning more towards Aputure in order to use only one light system, Zhiyun releases this killer light haha.
Zhiyun should update their app and have ipad support
I’ll let them know!!!

Most tube lights have grid attachments available to focus the light. Adjustable barn doors are certainly more versatile.
