According to NFL Network, Dak Prescott would need to make quote: 'significant strides' in his recovery from thumb surgery to be ready to play the Philadelphia Eagles this upcoming Sunday night. Honestly, this is a picture perfect example of the differences between expectations and the realities that result from them. Dak was sensational as a rookie when he was thought of as nothing more than a backup to Tony Romo. Cooper Rush is sensational right now because he is thought of as nothing more than a backup to Dak Prescott. If Cooper Rush somehow takes over (he won't, but he has proven he can be an adequate starter in this league), the expectations will rise very quickly and then he will be hated due to the elevated expectations.

Shannon sharp is refusing to accept that Cooper Rush made the throws that matter. Cooper Rush is playing effective football. Dak often times wants to take over the game but he’s not that QB. The team bought in with Cooper Rush since game 1 and you can see it on the field.
Agree. I started watching Cowboys when I met my husband 15 years ago. It's frustrating because I usually don't feel like the Cowboys get beaten, but rather that they GIVE AWAY the game by penalties, turnovers, other mistakes. I like that Rush doesn't showboat. Matt stafford led the league in interceptions in 2022 and help win a super bowl with the rams also Burrow was ranked 4th along with Mahomes in interceptions thrown so 2 of the top 5 qb’s leading the league in interceptions were in the sb. Bro, Cooper Rush makes an average annual salary of $977,000. Dak makes average annual salary of $40,000,000. Rush is playing exceptionally well for his pay grade. Multiple TDs, on target deep passes, no turnovers and no mistakes so far. WAY more value than Dak has ever been outside of him rookie year.
There's no actual way you believe the dumb things you are typing about these 2 QBs. Dak is the 9th highest paid QB at this point. If you can't get over his contract, that's just you living in the past, because Dak tried to take a team friendly deal and Jerry refused that contract and waited until he had no other option but to pay his franchise QB a big contract. Dallas didn't look "great", but the difference from this year and the last few was management. Managing the clock and doing nothing to lose once you have the lead. You don't need to win by 30+ if you control the ball and keep your defense from playing gassed every weekend.
If Dallas goes back to Dak and the Cowboys lose in Philly, then regardless of the score or the circumstances, Dak is going to be blamed. If the Cowboys go with Cooper and Dallas pulls out a miraculous victory, then the Cowboys would have to continue with Cooper Rush against at least the Lions and the Bears.

After last year, who would have ever thought we'd see three "NFC Least' teams being 4-1 or better? I realize they beat up on each other to a degree, but there's no way that would make them a combined 13-2. It'll be interesting to see how this division will develop and pan out.

How does Skip not see its the offensive gameplan, and play calling that has changed, not Cooper Rush. They need this gameplan with a playmaker behind the snap. Run through pollard and zeke, and open up the passing game with Dak... this gameplan works.
I think Cooper Rush is a big reason why the defense is playing like they are. A solid game manager let’s the defense rest and plan. Alex Smith did the same with KC defense from 13-17

Dallas has the best defense in the NFC East and a Top 3 defense in the NFL along with the SF 49ers and Buffalo defense. In the playoffs though you need Prescott to make big throws against elite teams.

Well all this depends on the defence health, up in Philly specially, the Eagles have the best O-line, if Parsons isn't healthy enough to perform, the Eagles offense would have less resistance.
Philly's defense is no joke either, the secondary is starting to get dinged up but they're still managing.
And the Eagles are going to run the ball alot, with Hurts or with the RBs...
In my opinion the healthier defense, the team that gonna run the ball better and score in the Redzone is going to win...i think Philly still have the edge on this one.

What surprised me was why the Rams D didn't commit more guys to stop the run. Maybe they were concerned about getting beat deep? IDK, but Rush is doing what he needs to do to Win. Dak tried to do it all and not utilize everyone. That said, Cowboys need Dak. The D and run game can only play A+ game for so long.

I'd tell Dak to chill until we lose. It's not always about who's the best. Sometimes you go with what's working.
This is how Dak was able to get the position. He took care of the ball and played within the system. The talent was already there and had been there before he arrived. For the past couple of years he has tried to be the guy and it hasn't really worked out for him. He is good but not 40 million dollars good.
