Saw this in London last week and was completely blown away with how beautiful the whole thing was! Absolutely phenomenal. I'm sad there isn't an English recording of the soundtrack out yet so for now, I will be forever looping this playlist in Japanese!
When I first heard that Frank Wildhorn was working on adapting Your Lie In April as a musical, my first thought after a brief chuckle was “Shit, that works”. Given how much importance music is treated with in terms of the series’ characters, I’m surprised that the manga was never adapted into a musical theatre medium before. Since Wildhorn’s musical adaptation of Death Note has made its way to the West End and is getting an official English cast recording, I hope this show will be granted the same opportunity later on.
Unfortunately, not yet. In an interview about YLIA a couple days ago, Frank Wildhorn (the composer of the show) said that Horipro liked the score so much that they didn’t end up recording any English versions of the songs and skipped straight to the Japanese recording, and he said that this rehearsal process was the first time he’d heard the songs performed in English.
Why is it that getting a cast album of a Frank Wildhorn show in English is like getting blood out of stone. Death Note from last year is compleated but does it get released? No. This show too needs one but l doubt if it will get one. They couldn’t even give us a midweek matinee for those of us who can’t go at night or weekends . There is no point in doing these shows if they don’t get English recordings. All the biggest hits ever were in English for goodness sake.
Saw it performed Live in London yesterday, what a brilliant experience!
I saw it in London Monday, it was brilliant and I'm glad I went. What an amazing experience
right??? So much better than I'd hoped it would be!

Well do I have news for you
You called it!
All the songs slap so hard in the musical, many of the songs implement the classical music which were in the series. I want to see this one so badly
the vocals in this song are so solid! I keep coming back to listen to it. I cannot wait to hear it in English when the show comes to London!
update: it was SO GOOD. Like, so so good
Ahh, amo el trabajo de Wildhorn, estuve esperando su estreno/presentación en un cast recording, vamos a escucharlo!
Will we ever get an English cast recording 😭😭
i love the parts of the song using the 3rd movement of moonlight sonata. So hype >_
Wildhorn is a genius for including that in the song
@@AlexStarl1ght ikr!! the scenes where Kosei plays the piano are probably my favourite parts of the entire musical ^_^
Has there been any stirrings of a UK/English cast recording yet? Saw the show in the west-end recently and loved it! 🎶🌸
Is there anywhere that has an English translation of this (yes I know it’s getting an official English version)

I'm praying someone who saw it remembered the lyrics 😂
