Macrame starter kit: If you are a beginner in macrame, I have a starter kit available. It is a great way to get started as it has everything you need to make several pieces and get you going on your macrame journey. csldesignsshop.com/products/macrame-starter-kit
I am having such a difficult time trying to learn this and I would like to make a suggestion......... It would help me to understand what string is what if they were different colors. I think it would make it a lot easier to follow. Just for the learning video if you could do 5 different colors of string it would really help. Thank you!
This is beautiful. Would you explain how to attach a different color thread for the leaves? I love the green leaves with the red rose.I'd love to make this for my niece to use in a scrapbook. Thanks, Jackie
angelbaily2 Thank you. When you reach the last step where you want to start doing the leaves like I show in the tutorial. When you are decreasing your holding cords like normal, as you go along cut off one cord at a time after you've done your double half hitch. This way you are getting rid of some of your cords but the knots are holding everything in place. Then when you only have one holding cord left you take some separate lengths of cord of your colour of choice and attach them to the last holding cord using the larks head knot, and then your new cords of a different colour will be in the place of the cords it would originally have been. I hope that made sense :-)
hello!!! this is one of my favourite things to make i make them all the time do you think it would work with a flat thread?? and any tips as no matter what i do some cords always end up really short and i always switch them!!! have a lovely day xx andrew

One last question. After you attach the new colors to the last holding chord, how do you secure it to the rose? You can't use the red holding chord in the leaves...
Mahoganyvzn I only use the last red cord to secure the leaves to the rose. So I only make the leaves with the green cords, and then every time I've completed a leaf I use the red one to secure it with and then move on to the next leaf :-)
Thank you for your wonderful tutorial!! Just wanted to ask: if you use a different color for the leaves, should the red threads be shorter? How long should they be? And how long should the great threads be? Thank again!
Susy Scarioni Thank you. Yes, you could make them a bit shorter or you could also make the rose larger by using more lengths for the rose itself. The length of the cords for the leaves really depends on how many leaves you want, but maybe about 80cm each to be on the safe side.

I need help .. I've tried several times to make the leaves green (different color than what I used for the Rose), I tried following ur directions u wrote below to other ppl on how to use a different color for the leaves, but their not turning out. 😔 I was wondering, could u plz do a short video showing how to change & add new color for the leaves & then how to do the leaves. I'm sorry if I'm bothering you. Maybe it's just me & my dyslexia & that's y I'm having trouble understanding ur written directions.

Hi what size cord do you use please I tried with 2mm but it looks bulky
Made with twine, this would make a nice trivet (Norwegian and Danish _bordskåner_).
Nillie Yeah that's a good idea. I can see that :-)
CSLdesigns you have a skull macrame tutorial?? grazie
Su trabajo es excelente, por favor podría ayudarme en español ? Gracias Ma Teresa.
