You'll wish you didn't lose your streak when you lose your phone in a dangerous area in a foreign country and are sorrounded by people who can't speak english.
Perhaps in the future, although I must say, I did experience the phone when my customer needed translation. He had the phone, and I thought it was the most mind-blowing thing in technology thus far. Concerning communication! It was a very big help for me and the customer to assure the customer the most prompt and convenience service possible.👍🏾 4:09
The translation would be great for me. I'm an American in Germany, speak German as a 2nd language, and live about 45 minutes from France. I only know a few phrases . I like to get over fishing and this could really help. Now, I won't give up on speaking French on my own but this will get me by.
Hope this tech comes to the z flip 6. I can't stand big bar phones anymore I prefer the smaller footprint for putting in my pocket and then opening up the phone when I need a full-sized experience. Very cool tech though!
It's like the absolute bare essentials that AI actively does everyday and is now baked the tiniest bit into their software. Nothing actually new or different, but maybe easier?
I'm evenmore tempted by the 24U now. I was worried that Samsung might have used their Bixby as their AI- I'm relieved that they have partnered with Google on this. I need to 'feel' each one in my hand this weekend and pick the size I want. I am very very tempted to get he U for he S-Pen. Also, I have overseas colleagues in Spain - so the translation will bb useful "out of the box" (and might help my German too!!)
for S26 Ultra event, It will be a holographic AI presenter, translated in 64 language with different stage theme, being applauded by holographic ai audience. imagine the cost savings...
I can believe this Real-Time Voice Translation feature is real. For sure we are getting outcompeted by AI. Anyone ever thought that you could have a call with someone speaking Spanish while you speak English without any need of an interpreter instantly?
How is live translate "legally" different from recording a call? Currently it's a complete pain to record call audio for both/all participants. If I'm wrong BTW, please link me to an Android app (or native settings) that makes this easy. And by "easy", I mean all calls get recorded automatically :) I assume (and I may be wrong) that there are laws that prevent call recording. And IF that's true, wouldn't it just be a matter of time before new laws catch up to this feature? This feels like a temporary loophole, but would be GREAT if not! Also, I don't understand why this (minus the camera) isn't a simple software update (for any Samsung phone) vs hardware. I can appreciate the AI on Device aspect, but question/doubt how much is actually ON the device. And even if it's 100% on device, shouldn't we have a choice in LLM provider?
This does sound more like software update unless it is just powered by specialized chip that dramatically speeds up calculations. This is done with Gemini nano, that should run on broader hardware configs....
This is different than recording, but recording is allowed if everyone being recorded is aware ahead of time and can make the decision if they choose to be recorded.
While the Google search thing is cool, I just think it's so sad that every example they had was about basically how to use it to buy something or eat something. Is that the only thing people are interested in now? How to buy more stuff, or eat more food? 😢
I first put thumb down, but watching further into video I had to agree. Their examples were rather pathetic "here we see a social media influencer and are interested in what she is wearing and she forgot to tag the brands".... such a CAPTIVATING example.
@@SocratesWasRight exactly. Is this geared only to the most superficial audiences who have lots of money to burn on this expensive phone and all the products they buy because an "influencer" told them it was "cool"?
I agree. It’s just meant to spur more consumerism. I think that will be used a lot initially, but the novelty will wear off quickly. The items that you search will lead to a manufacturer/reseller and they now have your address and can send you advertisements?
It's great to see Samsung at the forefront of technology...AI is the big thing right now and this phone comes at the perfect time to the market. And yes Apple is in trouble if they don't offer something similar.
I have had Note series since 2012, then Ultra series became the defacto "new Note," so even more likely now I will upgrade earlier than the thus far 4ish year mark~
It all sounds really cool but i still have my concerns about privacy, even tho its on device. As such Copilot can access the whole phone it sparks distrust in me. I was planning to switch from Samsung to a Google Pixel with GrapheneOS. So my current plan is to wait for Googles new Phone, which will probably come with enhanced AI capabilities too and use it with GrapheneOS + hope for a degoogled AI copilot, or a functiinality to restrict its access to my liking.
There is no such thing as privacy anymore. They already know everything about you. Nearly every device you come in contact with is recording every ounce of data it can squeeze out of you and everyone around you. Devices you don't even own are tracking everything you do. On the street. At your workplace. In your restaurant. In your home... if you're in range of any digital device, chances are it's collected your data and sold it many times over to numerous corporations and government agencies. There is no privacy for anyone save the lost tribes of South America and Africa. Even then, satellites overhead are tracking them as well.
There you go. This technology's one thing that we won't trust about it 100% is privacy. It's getting into us more and more. Escaping again is almost impossible🤔
The searching for things by words and then it showing pictures is not something new. It already exist in Chrome browser with extension haha. In fact, I can search by RUclips, Amazon and whatever search engine I desire to add. But searching by circling a picture? Now that's NEW.
Samsung phones are like desktops, they always needs to be powered. No matter they have AI but their charging time of 1 hour is like a century old thing
Seems like Samsung / Android phones are going back to their age old navigation buttons by ditching the navigation gestures. Not sure how I feel about this as I am used to gestures for a long time now. Others can share your thoughts.
Google looks like it's getting further and further behind. Ok they're here in a collab with samsung but why is this search not on pixel devices? google have been jamming their neural processing chips in pixel for years now. And the search is getting worse not better... meanwhile they're missing out on all the questions being asked on chatgpt etc this is hugely important for learning how people want to use these things. I asked both bard and free chatgpt 3.5 to update my cv with my last job and emphasize relevant skills from previous jobs for that sort of area that I'm applying for now. Chatgpt did it straight away but bard just refused with the usual copy paste excuse-all. How is that not smack dab in the center of what an assistant should do? oh and they sent a warning a few days ago that you won't be able to turn lights on anymore.... Next year these things better be able to file my tax return or they are missing out. If I understood that jargon I'd make a gpt myself that looks at screenshots of bank statements and you highlight business expenses and it plop out the answer myself. bet people would pay for that.

you can't do this without a hardware capable of handling all the processing.
