Big baits for big lake trout

Aylmer Lake trout are always moving and can be located just about anywhere in a lake right after ice out, during early summer. The most important thing for early ice lake trout fishing is being able to locate the fish (aka Aylmer Lake Lodge dock). Look for channels between islands, points, humps, sunken islands or other structure that are next to sand bars, these attract the large baitfish that lake trout feed on. Lake trout will keep cursing to find these food sources.
