As a base PS4 player, and having played around with this glitch since March, I can confirm there are no major issues with older consoles, apart from the usual rendering problems you can get with large or complex builds anyway.
Do use this wisely though, and thank you Beeble for pushing it to the masses.
BTW my early use of this is not a claim of discovery, I am certain this was a known exploit in certain groups 😎
Someone built one of these monstrosities on the capital planet. I warped to it without realizing what it was. Once in the base, I was freaking stuck. I used my starship to fly all around inside this thing and never found an exit. I finally had to use the "report base" option to make it disappear just so I could leave. Just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should.
This pushed my creativity, I did build now a base in cyberpunk style, this very big hologram at my spaceport I love already.
I'm glad you warned people about being careful of their machine's capabilities. As interesting as this is, even going to a base that someone else built of this size probably wouldn't render on many people's games. Fun to watch you do it though.
7 years and still making quality videos and tutorials, yet another beauty! Worked like a charm, thankyou good sir!
Thank you so much ive been googling how to get this for a couple years now and it was always the glitch that only let you make things just a bit bigger i can now make my atlantis bubble dome underneath a deep ocean :) you are the best nms glitch building guide ever you are amazing.
That’s amazing! Use it now before it gets patched. Sadly I can see the Zendesk being flooded with “My game broke because of my 1:1 Death Star! 😭”
Please keep us updated both on potential fixes from HG and creative uses of this glitch. As a builder myself my brain is already going bonkers with ideas. With this, every building part can be looked at from a new perspective as in "Part A scaled to 500% combined with part B now looks like Y"
I've been using this glitch for about 1 month and a half already. I haven't seen any problems with it as of yet.
I was thinking that maybe the parts would eventually return to its original shape, but it seems that this is a very good method for scaling.
@@TenSins. Have you tested it in multiplayer by any chance? Does the scaling persist if other players are around?
It's finally public knowledge! This is the glitch that the Galactic Hub used to build New Ziki City. I do have some concern that Hello Games could patch this out if people use it to grief other bases, now that it's public knowledge... Hopefully they'll just ban anyone who does that, but leave the glitch alone. I'm excited to see what the community as a whole will come up with now that this is public!
In what way could it grief other players? I would assume that if a player built something near me that could cause grief, couldn’t I just report the base and then it would disappear?
I’m only asking because a few months ago I had to report a base for building a very rude shape and I had kids in the house.. I’m hoping the reporting still works lol
It would disappear *for you* immediately, but it only disappears for visiting players when Hello Games gets a chance to review the base and determine if it's actually offensive. If they decide it's not offensive, it will never be removed for visitors - and a base can certainly be annoying or rude without necessarily being offensive or griefing.@@topjaff4061
Or they could, just, you know… add it as a feature. if they’ve been aware of it for a while. and the technique has been available to a select elite few, apparently.
How rotten does this well get?
Well, I am kicking myself. I was playing around with scaled up base computers over the summer and never thought to import scaled cables over the border. I even had overlapping base areas in the hope that scaling might work better there... So this video was really interesting and useful but a bit of a kick in the teeth!
I will be trying this out soon on PS5. First I'm hoping for an incoming update and redux expedition holiday specials, so it'll be a while.
It took me a hour or so to get it down but after that it works great. You have to pause and get each method down before continuing. I even had to go back to the beginning as it was confusing for me. Love to video. Great information and the way it looks is awesome
I want to thank you for all your amazing videos!!! You infected me with the NMS glitch building bug and It reignited and opened up the game NMS in a whole new way for me! Thank you! You sir are awesome! Happy new year!
Awesome video as always. I love Glitch building 👏👏
Perfect! Exactly what i need to make a mini version of my base.
Wait. I didn't even think of going smaller. Oh shizzelnit!
cat's out of the bag, was bound to happen eventually. just be careful out there.
I just discovered that if you pick up the scaled base and move it, it will increase in size every time you put it down. It will also lose it's 3-dimmensional appearance like the cable.
Sitting here waiting for the premiere staring at the thumbnail for a solid 5 minutes before it occurs to me that it's not some magnificent half globe that beebs has built, but a singular growth dome. Can't wait.
It's ridiculous how confusing every single one of these tutorials are. They just need to make it a feature honestly.
Hey Beeblebum. I dunno if this is known already but I found a way using the cache pin glitch or however it is called to place stuff even without a base computer. Such as underwater shelters above ground, and I've also been able to place stuff like cylindrical rooms and got a door on there in a roundabout way, all without placing a base computer. If you're interested let me know (If you read this :P) I'm not sure how useful it'd be but then again I'm not so experienced with building
Oh yea, I am aware of it - but its pretty pointless as the baseparts can not be uploaded and if you don't build a marker, never to be found again. lol
Yes!!! That’s what I’m talking about!
awesome glitch OP, thanks for granting us this knowledge.
Amazing video 🎉
Tho if i may correct. At the end it didnt took time to render the dome, even if scaled up it will still render the object in the same speed as scaled down. What looked to go up slowly was just the visual effect which the developers added ,when placing buildings, which seems to work by just shifting along world uv coordinates. So the larger y go the slower it seems to move.
The only renderlimittation might be the shadows (and anti aliasing??), but not sure, else using such large props would not further impact much the computer performance as regular sized buildings would. Neither the polygon amount nor the texture size got larger, it stays still the same.
What would be annoying is if it overlaps into other bases or if you try to land onto a planet and bump instead into a large dome or something, that i fully agree to not harras people this way.
I built one, it is so big, it's almost scary 😅. Thanks , it is so much fun biggifying everything.
finnally, a ability to build sci fi sity inside a giant dome)
I have masterd it thank was wondering how they done it 😊
YAY!... I actually got this glitch to work for me, ( which is saying a lot, i'm usually crap at trying to 'Glitch-Build' anything!) But i slowly followed how he did it,
and i now have i think a 3 to 4 times the size BIODOME under the sea... (Well the very top-bit just pops-out the surface, but i did it).
I had to raise the floor by one-wall height, then places down a stone floor all over wich took some doing having to 'MINE' the rocks etc that still appeared inside,
and its cool. (The raised floor is because there was water in the bottom up to that height for some reason)... I'm going to do some buildings so it's like the Underwater-City,
in the movie ' Captain-Nemo, and the Underwater-City 1969 '.
amazing video as always Beeble.
Did you ever manage to find a way to get power to the largest structure?
I never looked into it anymore...
I honestly doubt bases that are scaled up this large are easy to find that connection point.
Especially because the technique for this size is very random per builder/base.
I got it!!!! I powered a x6 biodome and accessed it without a teleported!
How??
@@thedudetrader I got it to work with any sized dome too, there is a spot just under the big screens in the centre of the inside of the dome, if you put a glass cuboid room there and power it, it will power the whole dome! Works best if you pillar up from the same prefab you glitched the dome on, the glass cube is also normal sized!
@@thedudetrader to access the dome I scale glitched (the normal max) a biodome onto the same cuboid I did the massive one, then placed a glass cuboid underneath, then normal corridors and doors to access the inside.
Does a pill light work too? Placing and powering a pill light inside an unpowered cuboid room powers the entire room.
@@Sinclair I don’t think so, not in the same way for the biodome, since it’s the glass cuboid that provides the power, but to power the cuboid itself should work fine!
Time to go and make my new city base before HG fix this!
This is probably what the builders at the galactic hub were doing and didn't want to share
Yes it is! Although we openly offered to share it with anyone who asked via private communication. We just didn't post a public guide as the glitch's founder asked us not to.
@@GalacticHub Did you have any trouble with scaling down? I can only seem to get it to scale down so far, before the duplicated wires glitch out and go bigger.
@@demandred1957 Yeah this glitch doesn't work for scaling down. I wanted to make a Hot Wheels Exocraft track lol
@@GalacticHub *sad noises..* oh well.. thanks for the reply!
can oyu see that thing from space? like does it change the silhouette of the planet to have a little pimple where the dome is XD
Oh wow what a great glitch 😅 i can see some pretty insane possibilities with this one!
I was asked to keep this method a secret 😳
I heard this after I released the video, I was not aware of such pact... I did post a statement in my community page about this.
Dumb idea keeping secrets
Who by? Are they more entitled than other players?
That just goes against everything that the game is trying to tell you... Imagine keeping secret informations in a game where sharing intel is the main goal of it
@@mikeuk666 it was to keep trolls from ruining people's bases is what I was told
Awesome! I am gonna put a giant Gek statue on a small moon. 😂
Or build a race track inside a huge biodome.
Can you just stick to one thing? You lost me at the beginning when you started placing numerous wires, Do I need to place those exact wires to resize an object? Sure doesn't seem like it but you go ON AND ON AND ON AND ON ABOUT IT. What does that wire even do? Why make it big? I'm not trying to make big wires, I'm trying to make a big fire place ffs.
Nuts, thanks again Beeblebum
I want to try the 6 or 8 wheel rover thing like this.
Finally we can do rocket league in a biodome.....
I'm confused about the base computer.
The demonstration in the beginning had the wire already half placed before switching to the scalable item, then switching back.
The base computer step seems to be not even putting that first half of the wire down. I'm also confused how to cache the computer because it just seems to want to switch back to my scalable item when I hit the duplicate button.
Every part has a % limit
Yesssss! Finally!
I made a video just like this a month ago.
I can confirm this, I watched it ❤
Nice, I was not aware of any discoveries like this, I already got several people claiming this that this was discovered 6 months ago.
I am honestly surprised there has been no videos about it.
And Sorry if you assumed I stole your Idea - I had no clue this existed before.
@Beeblebum Honestly, I'm very happy that is out there, and it's the reason I also made the video.
I posted the video link on your Discord over a month ago and thought you found it there, and everyone should know this glitch to add to our tool bag for building amazing things.
I've also heard claims of people knowing this for more than 6 months but have never seen anyone actually do it or make a video of it.

Right, errrr, what am I making?
Oh hell, EXOCRAFT!
Yeah, i think that's going a little too big!... But i love the idea of the 'HUGE' Biodome. (You could build i whole town or settlement inside it).
I think Hello-Games should make a scale update that gives you a sizr choice of Biodome, similar to how you have a style choice of wall's.
Greetings! Your tutorials are amazing! I have one question: Is it possible building itens from the "normal base" to my Freighter? Is there any glitch that allow it?
Hi, thank you - There is indeed - although the technique has drastically been nerfed my last years updates.
It still works, but more frustrating. - I will need to take some time to figure out all the issues, before making a updated version.
In the meantime - check out this guide: ruclips.net/video/FurKLVb534A/видео.htmlsi=pGy_oWFagQ4Hlh9m&t=1234 (the technique is called Cache-Pin)
@@Beeblebum thank you, I will try it!
Are you able to scale down an existing base computer? I want to make it smaller but I don't want to destroy my whole base first
Okay i managed all of this, buuut for some reason the huuuuge domes are all sideways? Anyone know how to fix this?
Is there a way to power the extra large biodomes and prefabs? Like with the previous x3 scaling, using glass cuboid rooms ect?
On one hand, this is awesome! On the other, I'm a bit worried about griefers abusing it. Either way, this is a great excuse to hop back into NMS. Can't wait to experiment with this.
wake up old man, light no fire announcement just dropped
Oh man that game looks soooo beautiful. But... it’s missing a terrain manipulator and my sentinel interceptor ship.
This is by far the silliest glitch in the history of videogames
I can finally build a city in a biodome, lol. THere are some interesting methods of tunneling wit h cube rooms since interecting always hollow in the middle... so you cna make osme interesting curved interior rooms. Not sure why it works but they jsut erase walls in its interesting.
Anyone able to scale things smaller? Building a tiny base computer still results in ever bigger wires.
Hey I tried it in reverse (downscaling the base comp) to see if things shrunk but it only upscaled them again. That's a shame.
You can normally keep downscaling your basecomputer, then remove the previous basecomputer, and work from the smaller BC, and keep downscaling until you got the size you want.
It worked at the time I figured this out - But have not checked in the meantime.
Imma just make a planet sized teleport machine cuz why not 💀💀
I think we're getting into Jurassic Park territory with this one...
I have been trying to build a scaled up bio-dome; every time I place it, it is placed at a strange angle - can anyone help me solve this issue?
Your wire wasn’t level.
That's pretty cool!
I know im a lil late to this but how would we power these domes that are scaled larger then the normal 3x . I know u can use a cabnet a carpet to work the 3x but will the same work for this or is there a easier way to get power
The powering is very random on these parts, especially if you build larger than 3X.
I used to have a guide, with some solutions, but after a few updates those broke as well.. So, its a lot of trial and error sadly.
This the two base method?
It seems so, it seems this technique is like 6 months old already.. lol
I don't know how you figured it out, but my god, this is spectacular!
Hello Beeblebum . It is possible to stack up freighter building parts in a planet using this method? For a tall scaled up building ? I just know how to do the regular method.
Probably, however it will be quite a challenge to line these up.
how do i prevent the buildings from looking stretched?
UH OH! 🤯
your are genius!
We can now build a biodome planet 😂
hey i cant toggle to wire got any idea how to fix it. i have no idea why but when i press q it doesnt toggle to wire. it used to work fine on ps4. i even tried remapping it to 1 but it still doesnt toggle to wire. pls help i really need it to build.
Can you go extra small?
Yes, but this technique does not really do this.
If you scale down the Base-computer (instead of up) but then, instead of using the duplication of the wire to scale it up. You glitch another base-computer, scaling it down again... You can keep scaling down base-computers making smaller sizes to start with.
You need to every time remove the first base-comp to claim the 2nd small one.
If this does make sense?
Awesome thanks for the knowledge 👍 😀
Been trying too do this for like 2 hours now and cant get it too not register me editing my original base comp
You made this look very simple, so simple, its exciting. Its like be shown how to use a condom for the first time. i cant wait to get "stuck in"!

Can this be used to scale down past the normal limit? Or is there another way for that?
From what have tried, no, it will just uno reverse and go big anyways

NMS is a community based on sharing information... Not just once.
Grow up.
@@iro6758 look I don't know who you are. But you obviously aren't as clued in as you think you are. I know everyone likes to parade around wearing the "friendly community" mask but it isn't the case. I've encountered the most egotistical, arrogant, back stabbing ass wipes, more often than not, in this "community". If everyone cared about each other as much as they claim they wouldn't turn a blind eye to terrible people like meogi lurking around, nor would they allow people like this guy to use others as stepping stones to his own success. This wouldn't be the first time he has done it so it's not unreasonable to claim that's what this is. Especially since the video is a step by step clone.
Tensins was immediately approached and made to feel like he had done something wrong when he shared this initially, because of the big bad griefers ooohhh.
All I've seen here is that community only matters when it's convenient and benefits someone. It's disgusting.
