Man or Astroman were one of a kind in nature which is why they made so many albums with that unique signature they had...but unlike most bands who experiment while they progress it was always a cool new sound with that thing they had as band...that chemistry.

    • @BOG0690
      @BOG0690 6 лет назад +1

The best chemistry. Its like they all get lost in the music and then they find each other again and THEN the song ends.

I bought this CD on a lark after I had heard one song on some random Internet radio station, back in the late 90's when Internet radio was a rare and precarious medium. I fell in love with the album instantly. I especially love the cheesy movie references. If any band fits in with the MST3K ethos, this is it. No wonder they cover the theme song. I'm not a big fan of surf music in general, but there's something about this album that hooked me and drew me in.

We used to go see this band, good times.
The Mummies were another one of these acts that put on one of the greatest live show you could see in the early 90s.
You'd think it was going to be all presentation, but they'd just go nuts and physically confront the audience, it was great.
The Scaries were like that, The Woggles... actually Goober and the peas were pretty amazing.
Didn't even know who that guy was when he got famous, I mean, that he was that same guy.
The early ninties was one of the best times to see live music, most people today don't know how varied the shows really were.
You were often peering into the past or the future or both; and it was real like a punch in the fucking nose on a cold morning on the first day of school.

I have recently, finally, become fused to this tool of the devil. As a result I can hear sounds I'd thought lost forever, & music I never knew existed, such as this, if my spine was still in its late teens/early 20's I'd be leaping around & getting on' down, but alas no more.Every tune on this album is a winner. I cannot find fault in it. I've been listening to surf/garage, mod & psychedelic rock (amongst other genres) for 35 years or so, & I know a good band when I hear one. Man or Astro Man fit that category, Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My brother had this on vinyl in 1995 and I had the cd for years. Is there any info why it's not available on streaming platforms- and other albums of theirs are? This entire album is 🔥.

Man, just found this album and loving it! I like how it's pretty much all original material and the one song I recognize as a cover (Taco Wagon) isn't a song that has been covered a thousand times before like Miserlou, Walk, Don't Run and Hawaii Five-O.

I was searching for similar music than the kid cosmic soundtrack. And this is really that kind of music.

I think Brian used to work at Nuncie's on 2nd Avenue North, because he was there and helped us buy a cheap drum kit in summer of 2002 or 03. He is a great dude!

They have to take boxes out of their space garage before playing.

The excellent artwork on their cover is from the box for the late 1950's/early 1960's Dux Astroman robot toy made in Germany. It's one of the rarer robots/space toys you can find.

hidden gem my ass they made big waves but you had to be standing somewhere near the 'water' even if it was just a puddle with your own face in it unconscious.a twitch here a murmur there, not just a half barrel in deepthroating the tap.cheers for those simpler times & all the good people along the way.them days are dead.miss those seconds.yow.

That opening track is killer, I was listening to it when Snowboarding in Breckinridge and it inspired me to ride alot more aggressively than I usually do. Probably a bad idea in hindsight, I was lucky I didn't get hurt

So I had the bright idea to stick on a video of Adam West's Batman dancing with this album in the background.

The beginning of "Intoxica" sounds somewhat like the intro to The Surfaris' surf instrumental "Point Panic"
