This song is about the suicide of Grimes close friend cDavid Peet, who died in 2008. They had planned to create a band together. Peet was one of the co-founders of "Lab Synthese", which is where Claire Boucher started to experiment in music under the name "Grimes"). David believed in her and her music. So when Peet passed Claire felt like she needed to move forward with the Grimes project, and she then signed with the record label Arbutus.
