i"m pretty sure that Cook (judging by the color of the ball) is using an Ebonite Magnum 11. If I remember correctly the cover stock was a blend of rubber and urethane.
BTW, anybody know what ball Steve Cook is using? I think I saw the old Ebonite Gyro label there, but I don't recognize it. And he sure is playing tight and inside. Considering all that lift and turn he can generate, that urethane ball isn't moving an awful lot.
@4:57 "That's rosen he pats on his ball, just kind of a nervous habit. He actually wipes it off. Just preshot routine." Commentary for commentary sake. *facepalm* Hmmm, the finger holes he's patting probably have nothing to do with it. Hahaha. In all fairness, I wouldn't be any better at commentary work for television, but that's one of the many reasons I don't do it.
Wood blows, tears up the balls, creates way too much track, absorbs oil, has to be resurfaced all the time, and when they are, they hook like hell and stink because of the chemicals and if not, it is like rolling the ball on top of a golf ball. Wood approaches yes, synthetic lanes, yes. And I grew up on wood, matter of fact a house that had 1/2 the wood lanes from Japan and 1/2 from America. Wood sucked then, sucks more now.
Dig that hair on "Young"! Thanks for the upload. Great memories.

Look at all the bowling balls on the rack. LOLOL
Looks like Steve Cook is throwing an Ebonite Magnum. Maybe a Magnum 7 or 12
