Damn bro i hear you man. Ive worked in the IT field for the past 12 years. Its just not fun anymore. It really is a never ending hole no matter what you do. Hope you find your peace in the world.
I'm 68, hating work, but recognizing it's necessity. I yearned for the day I could retire, but as that day approaches, fear of the unknown--of not having a steady income--has me in limbo. And if I do quit and retire, what's my worth? My purpose? The struggles of being a man in the 21st century.
A solid 6 minute truth bomb, and I especially enjoyed the 5 minute mark. I'm also 44, and also been in the IT field in various levels since the late 90s, and man you nail it perfectly. I used to be proud to tell people what I did for a career, but now I hide it at all costs. I quit going out in my hometown for groceries, home supplies, etc. due to being bothered by people. Even in restaurants! I also stopped dressing a certain way and aim for a lumberjack look as a means of trying to blend in. I feel like a weirdo doing all this, but it's a must. Anyway, just thought I'd share for some reason, take care man! I enjoy your rants/talks.
"Do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life." Does NOT mean you force yourself to love what you do. That's not possible. People lose interest in things they "love" at some point, so doing the next thing they love is the natural step.
Thats why I never wanted to work with the things I have a passion for. I knew that if I worked with something every day it would eventually kill that passion.
Got one actually better: to the young people: be together with the people you ACTUALLY want to be with, because time is too short and life is too precious to waste in people you don't fully like or love. Note aside, I been together with my life partner for 15 years, never gotten married, hell, we never even asked each other if we wanted to be boyfriend and girlfriend during the dating phase. We just chose in ourselves to be together because we liked and loved each other and every single day we continue to take that free and open choice and wish we remain together forever. Yeah, never marry, never do what everyone else does. Instead do what you truly feel it's real and natural for you
May I share a different perspective? I believe that doing what you love and finding happiness in your work is essential. However, it doesn’t necessarily guarantee that you will become rich or wealthy from it.
Remember: not giving up enrages your enemies. Continuing to fight inspires others. We all inch forward together!
"Never forget what you are. The rest of the world will not. Wear it like armor, and it can never be used to hurt you."

To they young people, do NOT marry. this is the biggest dream destroyer.
Oh, come on, 20 years married, everything’s just fine!
