i love jesse and erra, huge fan. but it sounds like he is using some kind of pitch corrector. the chorus on gungrave sounds very synthetic
He is using pitch correction
Pretty much all the big metalcore bands are. Thats what alot of shows just feel like they are playing a cd through the speakers and not as raw as it use to be.@@twitchthepocket
@@KampoReXdid you hear divisionary? He is definitely not using pitch correction. He's been practicing and is growing into his voice very well. There are plenty of moments that are not in perfect pitch
It is not pitch correction, it a harmonizer.
Man holy shit. Both Jesse and JT have made some serious improvements on their vocals. I cannot wait to see them later this year!!!
Did you leave out JT's voice cracking like a prepubescent boy when he actually tries to sing?
@@matthewfreeman33 JT has a much higher natural pitch than his screams would make you think. I'd imagine going between those screams and a higher register clean vocal is pretty fucking difficult dude. No need to throw shade on a very solid performance.

Jessie is insanely talented. Love watching him tap those notes.
Im pretty sure they did something on the vocals to make him sound like that, thats what bands do these days. Dont get me wrong Jesse is insanely talented but everytime I go to a show I noticed the post production in the clean vocals.
Yeah he has autotune for sure, I just have legit never heard his voice sound as consistant as this in a show before. When the autotune is working overtime you can tell, makes his voice kinda weird sounding and takes away the tone.@@ByronArens
Especially in Skyline the autotune is pretty evident.

It's a great time to be an Erra + Northlane fan. Both bands are releasing new joints next month and I couldn't be more satisfied.
The first time i saw erra live they opened for abr and it reminded me that i had listend to them before. Fell in love that night seeing jesse handle those lead guitar and vocals at the same time was mind blowing.
what a band, even the security in the middle can't resist to headbang :))
JT is such a beast live
JT has one of the best growls in the game. Only a few such as Jake Lurs from August Burns Red, Tim Labesis from AILD, and Dave Stephens from We Came As Romans can match him.
I've watched this 3-4 times already and here I am at almost 4am watching it again. 😅🤟 Saw them in 2022 and I'm jealous since you got 9 songs, I only got 6 but they played Nigh to Silence!
I saw them twice last year and I'm hoping to double that this year. I wish Northlane would've brought this headline to North America. Erra + Northlane are two of my favorite bands Metalcore bands. They have improved so much over the years that they've reached a level that not a lot of bands can match. Nevertheless, I already have my tickets for both of them later this year.

Skyline autotune is mad strong 😂 Still amazing live. I remember that Northlane show like it was yesterday.
What makes you say it's autotune? There were multiple moments that were not pitch perfect. Is Jesse not allowed to have a good night or something? He's clearly been practicing and getting better and better. I've been seeing multiple comments on here thinking he's doing autotune yet there are multiple moments in the show where he wasn't pitch perfect.

I stand corrected - you are right. There was pitch bending.
Dawg they did alex super wrong with the mixing. I have head him play without all the effects and triggers. His tone is very consistent and his hits are accurate and centered. I am not a big fan of all the sample and trigger stuff that takes place in the modern live metal scene. I much prefer the sound of natural drums. but thats just my opinion.
Alex doesn't use triggers live, at least he hasn't for a few years now and that's very apparent on Gungrave. Front of house just messed up hard
Did you guys notice he wasnt doing like any double bass like at all???? Scorpion hymn and gungrave have a ton of double bass and there is literally NONE. is it the mix not picking up the other drum or does he have a leg injury or something? It sounds so weird without the double bass

@trentonziegler8649 I just watched some of their set in Osaka from like 10 days after this and he's using it there. I'm wondering if the other pedal just got messed up before the show and he had to make due with one for this set.
The screamer is brutal, but he’s really off key when he attempting to sing, leave the singing to the guitar player. Otherwise these dudes are sick.
I'm pretty tired of them playing Eye of God, good setlist otherwise.
