The only way I can describe the Bedard canvas is that it's like breaking the fourth wall for collecting. Like upper deck is flaunting his card as if the value wasn't arbitrary or something. I don't think I'd like it better, but it'd be interesting if he was holding the gold outburst lol
Can you imagine!
that would be very unique, but it would also be a very bad idea, he probably really messed up that regular version he was holding.
i’m actually very excited about this product. I like the variety of ways you’re gonna be able to hit a Connor Bedard young gun as well as a bunch of other peoples cards. I wouldn’t mind getting a few Fantilli cards or Cooley cards or poitras for my Bruins PC. And those retro inserts, awesome. The potential there is going to be pretty awesome too. Yes we all know the super low numbered stuff is going to be nearly impossible to get that’s always the situation. But at least you have a chance. It’s not like paying $300 a box for series 2. Trust me I made that mistake a few months ago and I regret it even to this day. Even as a Bruins fan, which a bunch of my cards were in that box didn’t even come close to being $100 worth of cards. but it’s harder to take that loss when you spent $300 the prices inflated because of Bedard. I knew what I was getting into though. And I sure as hell knew what I was getting into this and I understood that this is a way better deal than that. At least it’ll be more interesting and be a lot more fun this time around because I’m getting an entire case which is the first time in my whole life kind of thing. I never understood why young gun cannabis rookies are worth equal to or less than the regular young gun cards. I think they look cooler. They are way harder to get if you’re judging it from a box aspect kind of thing. And I’ve always just loved canvas to me. I don’t really care that they hold less value than the Connor Bedard regular young gun. I would’ve wanted the canvas young, no matter what. If I’m lucky enough to pull one, I will be very happy. I also understand that there is such a variety of other things that you could get out of this that I felt that it was definitely worth getting an entire case. I’ll be very excited to get some of those SPX Hollow view cards, man what a throwback I don’t remember those specific inserts and maybe they used that design from a different sport back in the day but I remember the SPX set specifically from that year. And there’s a bunch of red parallel, inserts, and stuff like that too think of how cool it would be to hit a red parallel Bedard rookie insert of any kind. If 80% of the value of getting some boxes is the fun aspect then I think I’m already gonna have a lot of that when I get my case.
Same here, never understood why canvases are less expensive when they are waaaay harder to hit. I'm a canvas collector as well and think one day people will realize this.
Going to be chasing the Cooley and Fantilli here
@@FromTheBenchYT yes, me too. I know I’ll get at least their regular young gun cards and there will be a chance at hitting the retro versions also. I would be absolutely blown away if I hit either a gold outburst or a printing plate. Either of those would be my first time actually pulling any kind of. 1/1 but I realize the odds of that are like insanely astronomical. assuming that I open up the entire case that I get that means three cards per pack comes out to 432 hits, 24 of which will actually be the two wild cards per box that you were supposed to get so I think that is where my chance lies with getting any kind of ridiculous low numbered card but who knows I guess I shall see what happens.
Thanks for the info! Question since I'm new to the card game. I noticed that young gun canvas cards don't sell for as much as regular young guns but since the Bedard will be 1 in every 5 cases on average, shouldn't that make it more valuable than the regular when it comes to Bedard?
Its a weird thing in this hobby. I think its partly because they're easier to get higher grades on the cards. and somehow they are less desirable. I love canvas cards tho
It's because the regular YG is more of the true rookie card where the canvas is an insert. It's a question I've asked for awhile too. Also they typically grade better so theres not a premium on their psa 10s like a regular yg
@@kneelbeforethelord917 I do prefer looking at the canvas cards! Especially the young guns, maybe they are more valuable to me lol
@FromTheBenchYT actually this makes sense. I wish there was more desire for the canvas young guns because I love them lol
yes, there will probably be acetate rookies in this which are probably going to be considered one of the Easter eggs so I won’t be surprised if we don’t see it on the checklist when that finally comes out. Personally, I like the young gun canvas of Bedard it’s a unique photo and that’s what they were going for. It’s not just like some other regular action shot or whatever like they always do. I think the only inserts out of this stuff that will not have Connor Bedard in. It will be population count, dazzlers. and hockey heroes. to me, that’s a fairly wide selection of Waze to obtain some kind of Connor Bedard rookie card, no matter what it is on top of which you have all the other guys from series one and series 2, so it will definitely be fun to open most of the case, if not the entire thing and see what I am able to pull
Ya I love me some yg acetates
Got mine @ 180 plus tax and haven’t regretted I like collecting sealed wax so getting 1-extended this year was pretty cool especially with all the eggs!
Great deal
Of course there will easter eggs of Bedard in this product. But at that price and to have a one per 5 case chance to get, it's quite a steep price. I did purchased one box on pre-sale but it might be my only box for a while. Thanks for the preview!
Agreed bud
I would think that Upper Deck will have some Easter egg Bedard cards in here based on what they did with series one. I could see an image variation card and the SSP Young Guns retro. I pre-ordered a case a while back for $1,500 USD. Not thrilled with the Bedard YG canvas, but it should be a fun rip with all the different inserts.
I like the thought of that
Great video!
There have been some sales on spa 2022/2023 if that interests you for a deal.
I got one coming
i like the bedard canvas personally it’s kind of funny
Thanks for the comment
It’s crazy!!!! How many people are willing to dud at 200.
Joys of ripping wax
I got pre order at 150$ + tax , not sure at 230$ i would have bought to be honest.
I assume youre talking U.S dollars? He's probably talking Canadian, I preordered at 200$ cdn
@@Mike-ix5sv nah CAD, Order a while back tho might be why.
@@IconZQc that's fair. I'm actually just assuming my price. My LCS didnt give me a firm price just yet, just gaurenteed 200$ at maximum.
I got a good relationship with my dealer, I got my series 2 case at 200$ a box, no gouging. Gotta imagine I'll pay less on extended than series 2.
Lucky, my lcs didn't open up pre-orders until just recently
Too steep, Bedard canvas falls 1 in 6 cases. Probably the best extended yg crop ever just on Cooley and fantilli, but over priced. I have a case at 200$ cdn a box pre ordered from my LCS, but might pass.
Love the 09 design and hitting a Bedard retro would be cool.
I enjoy building young guns sets and I think a couple boxes and buying singles will be the way to go over a case.
Ya I'd have to agree on this one
Not impressed with the picture of Bedard's Canvas. It completely ruined my enthusiasm for Extended. They should have went with the original design or some other action shot. One idea is when M.A. Fluery tripped him in the shootout.
Ya, most other designs would have beat it
not excited for extended at that price point tbh
Same bud
Nope this should not be more than $200 per box even S1 boxes are gong down in price
Agreed
nice
Thanks
They missed the mark for a big name player gigantic card! Hard pass for me.
Thanks for the comment
Nope. UD had an opportunity to gain goodwill and bring it back to reasonable prices and they decided not to.
More of a distributor issue than a UD issue. They need to pull a fanatics and get rid of the distributors
Yeah, it’s really more of a supply and demand problem and more of a distribution issue too. those are the reasons you see the price hikes, it’s not like upper deck changes the prices after the initial release because they don’t they set the initial price and that’s it. What happens after that is whatever happens. Off a couple rookies and sticking them in this stuff they actually made it a better product.
That yg canvas is terrible 🤦🏼♂️ I won’t be chasing I haven’t bought any box lately too pricey for the risk collecting was supposed to be fun but it’s for the rich now lol
Walmart is the way to go for these
Can't get hobby boxes at Walmart
@@FromTheBenchYT retail… cheap and solid results from series 2
@@FromTheBenchYThobby is mid blasters always the move
ugly, but maybe this will wake ppl up and everyone will start coveting canvas way mroe than reg YG---esp. since 90% of the canvas YG look wayyyyyy better than the standard (meh) versions.
Love me some canvas'
bedard sucks with his 60 points
Lol I don't know about that
