- This is how I replaced blown dashboard switch symbol illumination bulbs in my 1990 Mazda 323 BG sedan. Actually the location for these heated seat switches were on the center console on the floor, between front seats in this car, but I recall replacing also some other bulb like this on the dashboard as well, and ignition key illumination bulb too.
Initially, when I bought the car, the heated seats switch had blown symbol illumination bulbs, so first time in 1999, I bought new bulbs with base, which were of course easy to replace.
When they blew again in 2007, opted replacing just the bulbs, bought them from electronics store and used the old plastic base components, which connect to the PCB.
Took then these pics from the process, and maybe these are some help for other cars as well, I just haven't had to replace any other bulbs in my later cars.
Actually, when I got the car, heated seats didn't work at all, so I took the switches apart, cleaned the contacts, and they started working. Didn't have decent camera for closeups in 1999, so unfortunately no pics from that fix.
