Alex Paulsen Oasis are my favourite so I’ll try and be unbiased but how tf are Oasis shit? Although his voice fell off abit, 90s Liam Gallagher had the best voice I’ve ever heard without a doubt. Noel is one of the greatest songwriters ever, up there with Lennon, McCartney and Bob Dylan. He only borrowed a riff for ‘Cigarettes and Alcohol’ which despite being a great song I wouldn’t use it to define him or Oasis. When you actually listen to the lyrics of Live Forever, The Masterplan, Some Might Say, Talk Tonight, Cast No Shadow and many other of Oasis’ best songs you will genuinely appreciate how good he actually was/is. He wrote easily two of the biggest songs to ever be produced in Wonderwall and Don’t Look Back In Anger. And as far as him being a guitarist goes, I mean he’s no Jimmy Page but he is a good guitarist. In short Noel wrote so many lyrical masterpieces and Liam made them sound absolutely unbelievable. Phil Collins: Can be a bit bland and tiresome at his worst but has done a lot of good music also; especially with Genesis.

Unpopular opinion, but I fucking hate Phil Collins. Granted it could be that the first song I was familiar with was " I can't dance" which was on the radio when I was young. Over the years I've heard plenty more but I've never related to any song of his and I just don't like his voice, and his vibe is just not for me. On another note, The Smiths are amazing. The Spice Girls were literally my pre teen time not that I was the biggest fan in the world but I did enjoy their bouncy songs and even their ballads were good. All these bands were massive but they were definitely either loved or hated. But saying Phil Collins was the most hated man in ROCK was wrong to me that’s not the genre he’s in at all. With Oasis again I wasn’t a massive fan but I didn’t mind some of there songs but let’s be honest the Gallagher brothers especially Loam were pricks lol. Snow Patrol I loved. Chasing Cars to me is a massive song and made them a fortune. Cheryl is a big deal where I live as she’s quite local and she shows big things can happen for anyone no matter on their upbringing or class. I think she’s got a lovely voice. To me Coldplay are just depressing but sometimes I can’t help singing along to the odd song. Chris Martin does irritate me though and how he got Gwyneth Paltrow I’ll NEVER understand. One Direction were a bit young for me when they started but again a few of their songs are so catchy xxx

I really like Genesis Peter Gabriel era from "Trespass" to "Lamb Lies" - they were very original back then, playing prog rock. Suddenly they were a pop band. Phil was a good drummer for Genesis. I like pop but Phil's vocals are terrible.

Their take on Busted is pretty slanderous. To call the comeback album a 'cash cow' is to completely disregard the musical direction it took. A cash-in record would have been a return to the original sound and image. Fuck the idea that they're a boyband too. They make their own songs and play their instruments, ergo not a boyband. If multiple singers makes a band a boyband, go fucking call the Beatles and Oasis a boyband, I dare you.

Oasis are hated by many people. I though Phil Collins was pretty much universally despised. And Coldplay have been growing a steady legion of haters for a long time now. Agree about The Smiths - should have been just "Morrissey" listed.

Their early stuff was considerably better, but after Mylo Xyloto they started trying to ride the EDM wave & have focused more on trying to write hit singles for Spotify (Chainsmokers) than actually being a good band like with their early work. They stopped trying to innovate, & have just tried to cash in. Shame really, their old stuff was great

The Beatles were and are and will always be the greatest boy band and band in history. It really p*sses me off when people say one direction are better and have sold more, they've only sold more because its easier to buy and download music nowadays, also they had everything handed to them...they go on a show shown to millions(for some strange reason) don't win,and get handed a record deal just because s few million teenage girls find them "cute",the Beatles had to work hard in clubs in Germany playing eight days a week and in the cavern club just to get recognized before finding a manger and being rejected by several studios before even making a single recording as the Beatles ... Before anyone says yes I know the Beatles had millions of teenage girls swooning over them but the Beatles unlike one direction actually have musical talent, the Beatles have created songs and albums that have changed the course of music and is unrivaled in its genius, without the Beatles modern British artists wouldn't have the American audiences they have now as the Beatles led the British invasion of the US and paved the way for every other British musician/band.

The most "hated" are often the most successful because their are so many edgy people who think everything "mainstream" is automatically bad but Coldplay or U2 for example have still so many fans that there just has to be some hate
*Some* of this makes sense but equally some really does not:
The Smiths: A great band that happened to be fronted by (someone we now know is) a bit (actually a lot) of a prat. Morrissey alone would have made more sense here.
Busted and One Direction: These are both so bland that those who are not fans simply do not care enough about them to hate them.
Coldplay: The criticism is correct for about 15 years ago but they diversified their music since.
Phil Collins: Can be a bit bland and tiresome at his worst but has done a lot of good music also; especially with Genesis.

Say what you want about Coldplay even though there legends but Chris Martin is most definitely not grumpy. If you listened to any interview of him ever he is the most humble, down to earth, kind and joyful person alive. He also always spreads the message of love.

Unpopular opinion, but I fucking hate Phil Collins. Granted it could be that the first song I was familiar with was " I can't dance" which was on the radio when I was young. Over the years I've heard plenty more but I've never related to any song of his and I just don't like his voice, and his vibe is just not for me.
On another note, The Smiths are amazing. Just my opinion , of course.

The Spice Girls were literally my pre teen time not that I was the biggest fan in the world but I did enjoy their bouncy songs and even their ballads were good.
All these bands were massive but they were definitely either loved or hated. But saying Phil Collins was the most hated man in ROCK was wrong to me that’s not the genre he’s in at all.
With Oasis again I wasn’t a massive fan but I didn’t mind some of there songs but let’s be honest the Gallagher brothers especially Loam were pricks lol.
Snow Patrol I loved. Chasing Cars to me is a massive song and made them a fortune. Cheryl is a big deal where I live as she’s quite local and she shows big things can happen for anyone no matter on their upbringing or class. I think she’s got a lovely voice.
To me Coldplay are just depressing but sometimes I can’t help singing along to the odd song. Chris Martin does irritate me though and how he got Gwyneth Paltrow I’ll NEVER understand.
