Guest star Warren Stevens highlights this episode and makes it happen, and his lines as "now your talking like a tanker" and "we're gunna get that gun." and "How are we going to make it up that?!" LOL!!

We didn't have a color T.V. when this show was first in color for season 5, so I'm going to try to watch all of these. I do recall that it was still a top-notch show during its last season, but perhaps not as high a notch as they achieved consistently before, particularly seasons 2 through 4. There were great shows in season 1, too, but they were still trying to find their footing. However, from 1963 to 1966, this was the best drama on television.

German falling over the camoflage net being shot at the gun very realistic without being overly dramatic, excessive screaming, and blood being spurt from every direction, like in more current 90's movies and on..Robert at 67.

Just doesn't seem as good visually in vibrant color. But IN COLOR was all the rage back then. My Dad bought a cheap color TV and he had to degauss it every week else one of corner would turn purple! Once a month he had to realign the picture guns or ALL the screen went goofy. Ah yes, the good old days. No one born after say 1960 would remember these high maintenance color TVs. I was born in 1956. My wife and I had a 9" B&W TV when we were married in 1977. She felt guilty when we got our first color TV. Now we don't even own a TV! FREEDOM!

I was born in 67 and didnt see Combat until 1982 on a satellite channel ...... it was awsome ! .....I've always built military model kits and collect old GI Joe's and the boxed set of DVDs is on the shelf with some of the other stuff ......

German soldiers in front showed great courage. It's a pity they couldn't resist the tanks.
Then anti-tank gunners did a good job, they avenged their dead comrades. Seems the goddess of victory is smiling at the Germans. But unfortunately, infantry's search was not cautious enough. Wish I was one of the German soldiers, remind our lads to beware of machine gun ambushes and help our artillery-men fend off the sneak attack in our rear.

@john h It Is Wayne Rodgers, the german soldier does look like Redford But I don't think he is. If it were possible, I would like to ask Wayne Rodgers if they REALY worked that hard making the scene hauling that Gun up that hill and how much fun they had. I know how hard it is hauling something up a hill like that . I have done stuff like that for real. Also for this story they copied the story, In an old movie, I believe it was the Pride and the Passion ( true story). Read the next post.
