Still, one of hip hop's darkest beats. Pac was so dope. He totally abandoned the more polished Death Row sound of All Eyez On Me, and did this whole Makaveli project with Death Row's b-list producers, and made a classic.
Hawaiian Sophie was a song that Jaz-O did and featured a very young Jay-Z wearing Hawaiian shirts at the beach with sandals and shorts rapping about a girl named Sophie. When Jay-Z started rapping back in the day, he wasn't on his whole drug dealer/hustla persona until his debut album in 96 with Reasonable Doubt. And on top of that Jay-Z featured Biggie on a song called Brooklyn's Finest where Biggie throws a subliminal/word play diss at Pac. Pac thought Jay-Z was fake and a wannabe thug, hence Nas brings that up in Ether. Pac wanted to diss Jay-Z on Hit Em' Up but decided not to at the request of the Outlawz but in the Makaveli album Pac shows no mercy
Great Reaction homie, fun fact: Pac was a co-producer of the song and the bassline in the song came from Naughty by Nature song "Uptown Anthem" which was off the Juice movie soundtrack and Pac appear the video as well.
And this shit goes into Hail Mary. Maaaan, when this shit first dropped it had people going crazy. That's all the dudes at school and in the hood was playing for a long time.
2pac had to layer his voice because of his chronic smoking. Chino XL made a joke about this at one point. Shock G talked about it in an interview. Things you missed in the intro: a woman can be heard screaming “aint 2pac dead”?! 6 shots are fired and on the 7th Makaveli starts rapping. Exit 2pac Enter Makaveli There is a significance to 7’s in Pac’s music and movies towards the end of his life. This fueled the rumors that he was still alive after he had been shot the second time. Looking up 2pac and 7 should fill in some gaps. As far as him having similar lines I agree. Most of his music came from a 9 month period of his life from age 24-25. So that was bound to happen. It’s a shame he never got to see his prime in music or on the silver screen.Speaking if which, Pac also had leading roles in 3 movies during this same period. And during that same time, he became the first rapper to have two different albums at the top of the billboard 200 charts in the same calendar year. You have to understand before Pac, country and pop music always had the top spot when it came to record sales.
One of my favorites on this album Life of an Outlaw check that one out another dope reaction by the way been waiting for your return happy to see you’re back at it

Nice reaction!..Pac wanted to release this album as a underground mix tape but he passed and Suge dropped this after All Eyes on Me commercially to get that 🍞! React to Tupac DONT STOP THE MUSIC OG (JOHNNY J) STILL BALLIN OG (JOHNNY J)
If you listen to the very first second of the track, you can hear a faint voice saying ‘suge shot me’ - it is one of the big reasons people think 2pac is still alive

Jay z been around since 1988,he had to wait until pac and biggie died before he got any attention and he was reciting biggie lyrics
he didn't recite a single Biggie lyric on Reasonable Doubt, which people say is his best album.
