Kaizen is the practice that walmart uses. They have an open door policy, meetings with ALL employees when there is something to work on, input is taken and then all managers(lower, middle, and upper) from the region get together to share what they have learned and are always looking for ways to improve. They believe that the same method may not be the best a second time. If you didn't know, walmart is the world's largest employer, so I think it works

In my experience there is a tendency to reject the Kaizen process, due to fundamental misunderstandings... some employees typically fear that they will end up putting themselves out of a job, if they become too efficient.
For those people, it's nearly impossible to convince them that they will actually be increasing the value of their labor (and therefore potential salary) -- IMO it's best to use some kind of immediate financial incentive feedback loop, along with increased job security... otherwise you are asking employees (in particular, those who do not understand the process) to take a perceived risk, with only vague promises of future reward (which tend to never happen under incompetent management).
Personally, I have seen the benefits of the process in my own work, but I have noticed that good management is extremely rare (and therefore also extremely valuable). Therefore employees who understand the value of the lean manufacturing system might be best suited to focus on finding work at whichever company has the best management team, to avoid what can be a never ending cycle of various kinds of sabotage.

I work in the building automation industry (controlling HVAC, lighting, and access in buildings). We use a software called Kaizen that looks at historical data in a building, and makes adjustments over time to make the building more energy efficient. I didn't know Kaizen was a philosophy; I just thought it was the name of the software we use, haha.

When a project at my company is “going lean” it means that they are pulling personnel and resources and it is up to the workers to figure it out. I know they are referring to lean manufacturing because they talk about the 2seconds, but they are just using the language to put all the responsibility on us workers

The problem with this is if we can even get everyone’s cooperation in the 1st place that is a major obstacle when no one in the office sees eye to eye or even come to agree on anything.

Also, you cannot test everything. For example, you cannot fire your workers in order to see the efficiency of the results.

    কাইজেন মানে হলো, না থেমে একটু একটু করে আরও ভালো অবস্থায় চলে যাওয়া। অল্প অল্প করে ধীরে ধীরে এগিয়ে যান, কিন্তু থেমে যাবেন না।

If you know your work, your company, you don't need these methodologies.
    They're useless .
