I'm old time and when I ordered my ribbon rack, and finally received it, it was put together very nicely. So I went back to Medals of America and had them build me another one using the Mil-Thin ribbons. Just got it yesterday and it's really awesome. After 32 years since I retired, I've decided to put together a shadow box of my military career. I will be using the Mil-Thin rack I just received for my ribbon display. Thanks Medals of America.
I ordered these to try them out thinking the slimmer profile would be better. Problem is if the ribbons have "devices" like "stars" and such they can and do come apart. I'm pretty sure the seatbelt in my POV is the culprit. The devices on MOA's ribbons don't have the "mounting prongs" of their military counterparts and are "glued" on as are the pins. I thought I'd lost a "goddammit" at first then realized the pin let go from the back of the rack. Their ribbon racks are great for shadow boxes but for everyday use... not so much.
Question I received after a board; did you wear your uniform in the car? Yes, I replied. Don't do that, put in after. Thats when I realized, I, was not the smartest in the room. Just sharing my experiences and lessons learned.
an airport employee stole my hat from my luggage so have to reorder some ribbons, etc. Hope the loser enjoys wearing a hat that has absolutely NO value to him. Thanks, homeland security!
