I think it's because he has a very mature sounding singing voice, it's almost old manish sounding, but not in a bad way. It's more of a calm and soothing old man voice if that makes any sense.
I have lived most of my life between Bermuda, Ottawa (Canada) and Nassau (Bahamas) so don't get to see many big name concerts in those small markets. I did see Huey and The News in 2003 in Fort Worth and indeed they were awesome. No pyro, no bikini clad girls, no face paint, upside down drum kits or gimmicks. Just the band rocking out to their hits and all sounded great.
@@davidduganne5939 the song was actually made for the movie, hence why he mentions a Doctor, being late again, lightning, driving 88 mph, and even says Marty at one point. So technically you're wrong about that.
Huey Lewis and The News was one of The Hottest Bands of All Time.. When they cranked it up.. Everyone got into The Groove Baby.. I miss those guys.. Thanks for all the music and memorie.. Norman..
One of the best live bands ever!! Still have my ticket stub from when I saw them in Dublin!! Absolutely brilliant!! This was the song of the night for me!!!
It's in time to induct this band into the Rock and roll Hall of Fame what a celebration that will be in Cleveland hold on for the biggest party you'll ever see Huey Lewis and Lewis that's the future news folks
@Kyle Hill the movie hired Huey Lewis for most of the soundtrack. Huey Lewis even had a cameo role in the movie as one of the judges for the talent show auditions. The 80's movies used major artists for their original soundtracks. Giorgio Moroder did a lot the musical scores for a lot of 80's movies (Scarface, Over the Top, etc). Kenny Loggins had more songs in 80's movies than anyone I can think of, with a lot of his songs being in 3 major movie hits (Footloose, Top Gun and Over the Top).
Una de las mejores bandas de todos los tiempos. Su música no pasa de moda. Para mí siguen tan vigentes como desde el inicio. Me alegran el corazón. Abrazo enorme a Huey Lewis, y que se recupere pronto. Bendiciones
Huey Lewis and The News what an amazing band.. Their sound is flawless gotta love this guys.. I was born in '86 but I love 80's please someone takes me back in time ! 😎🔥🇪🇨
@@bobgomez9481 The one who had on a grayish jacked and his guitar is his blue guitar with white in the middle. The one who seems to like running from stage end to stage end.
I saw this show in December in Oakland Ca. Then got to see the same show at a 10th Anniversary Apple Computer party. The stage boxes gave it away. The most up close greatest concert I was ever at with one of my favorite bands.
Johnny Colla. I've been trying to play along to that awesome Saxophone solo for years. Not surpised at all that that is the most frequently played part of this video.
An obscure Back to the Future refrence brought me here, I had forgotten that Huey did an actual theme song for the movie. Everyone always associates it most with "The Power of Love" which does open the movie to be fair.

I have a weird little 1986 station wagon. She's an original 1 owner with most of the original paperwork, 52k or so original miles. She's got the old 85mph max speedometer, back when the speed limit was 55mph. Love cruising around & listening to Huey & the News & other 80s tunes in her. Would love to install a flux capacitor!
I can wish we could only go back in time but the only thing I can predict in the future is one of the greatest bands of all time Huey Lewis in the news gets inducted in a Rock and roll Hall of Fame a man that sold over 30 million albums sold out countless concerts been on every morning News late night talk show you name it all around Rock and roller Huey Lewis and the News playing by you
I was at this concert with comedian Freddy Lewis. He went crazy on Quaaludes during the show and alleged to have go back to the kidnapping of The Lindbergh Baby.

Man, what a band. Everyone doing their part perfectly and tastefully. Huey is such an underrated singer and front-man.
Why does everyone today use the term "underrated"? Lewis was a top performer of 1985. Hardly ignored.

I always loved the sound of his voice! I was 8 when Back to The Future came out, and I still watch it now with my kids 👍🥰
Such a fun & classy movie. Michael J Fox & Christopher Lloyd, what a fantastic combo they were.
Watching it as we speak. Christmas eve 2022 they're playing all 3👍

What a performance. Such an underated song and band.
God this never gets old. I miss these guys.....

I've never been a fan of live performances, but these guys were just awesome!
Back when musicians played their own instruments and singers could sing without autotune. Miss these guys.
Where's Emmitt Brown when you need him

Chris Hayes single note line absolutely NAILING the intro. As usual! Beautiful. Pure elegance in rock n roll. That voice. Pure bliss. The BEST❤🎉
Early 80's saw Huey and the News in Corvallis, Oregon. Awesome show.
What an astonishingly good band they were. The little hits and kicks and everything. Legends.
