I am truly blessed to have such a wonderful jazz station here in Atlanta like WCLK. I thank Jamal Ahmad for putting on rare grooves like this one. I must have had this on repeat...just drippin' with soul. 😘
My son Fergus just sent me this link. Best thing I've heard in a long, long time. Soothing, strong, soulful and totally uplifting. Bless the MUSIC MAKERS...
This track was playing at a hotel in Finsbury Square London. What jumped at me was the harmonise and the brilliant drumming. Who is this, I sad to myself. I opened my app Shazam, the name came up, got up on you tube, I’ve listened to the track over and over. It’s an amazing, brilliant and soulful track. I have not heard a great track like this one for a long time. Well done.
the evening rose up from the lull to meet its urgency, a tremor ran down through the company- this song right here is one of the best songs I've ever heard and love dearly.
Heard this in a music shop in Exeter England looking for a saxophone for my hubby. I was amazed at the smooth pleasure it brought to my ears. Totally amazing
Can somebody please explain: why isn't this the biggest thing the world has ever heard since, like, the beginning of all time? It's just SO FUCKIN awesome.
My song of 2013, and it's not easy for me to ever pick a song of the year. But I've ben smitten by this one since I first heard it in the spring, and nothing else comes close. Par excellence!
I am ashamed to admit that this is the first time I have heard of this artist ' maybe musically I heard of his music via another artist's project but did not dig deep in the crate' and what a great introduction. I take solace that the journey of passionate music always springs forth with 'new' discovery. I am now a fan
I picked that up sight-unseen at a Virgin Megastore (remember those?) back when it came out because of some glowing recommendation on a decal stuck to the package. When I played it, I died and my soul flew straight to heaven. That's right, you're talking to my ghost right now.
Well, if this is any indication of what this man's gonna be putting out there, consider me a fan. A huge fan. This is as solid as it gets. And the bg tracks are like honey.
You gotcha something here brother, don't sleep on this one this is huge. Kinda has that beach boy harmony with the soul of Mavin gay. Very very nice and very creative
era un venerdì sera :) anch'io l'ho scoperto grazie ad Oldani su radio capital, veramente un bel pezzo. Very good Philip Owusu we look forward to other songs ;D
Lyrics for "Goodnight" from Philip Osuwu's Bandcamp page: Oh yeah girl you keep me off the ground with a spin on my head Hmmm. The skyline leans, tips and turns I gotta sleep low, take me to my bed please. Them demons are not easily appeased My unflinching nerve, I'll hear verse sung of my chivalry Oh you can drop my stained trainers right here on the side Be good to leave one foot on the floor for me The evening rose up from a lull to meet it's urgency a tremor ran down through the company A few stood down, others fell or saw their saw their chance to leave and easily men taller and broader than me I lined the shots and chasers up and lined them up again in the order served by a legion of serving men I lit the fumes and vapors and scorched the bristles off my chin then hurled each down the rank and ravenous den
Like OjBlack100 I too am ashamed that I hadn't heard of this artist until recently. This track jumped out at me from Claire Henderson's prog on Jazz FM last night. Thanks to the published playlist I identified and found it. Interesting, aren't I?

alexanderorlov3 Because unfortunately brother Owusu is extremely talented in the singing department but does not care or maybe doesn't understand the importance of visual media...aka Music Videos. If there were a video to this song it would reach more people. That goes for Owusu and Hannibal and also Owusu and Green collabs.
Still bumping this. This song brings me close to tears every time I bump it. ❤️

Finally located this track on RUclips, after discovering it on Gilles Peterson...Thank you Philip Owusu for blessing us with such a divine track!
One of the best downtempo tunes of the past 5 years. Just incredible smoothness with huge crescendos & crests.
