      Glad you enjoyed! I have actually seen a number of these birds stop in my garden as they continue to migrate north. Hopefully we will continue to get more to stop particularly when I add the water feature to the garden. Take care!

      You are correct capturing video is extremely challenging, thank you for noticing. I think I used less than 1% of the video I took as it was unusable for a multiple of reasons. The leading problem is the birds are always moving. Capturing a bird in focus for any length of time seems almost impossible. My technique and anticipation of the birds movement is helping. Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Take care!

    Beautiful photos! You mentioned seeing more Tennessee warblers. Here in Lancaster, PA we rarely see/hear them in spring; this year we’ve heard several. Except for the painted bunting, all these birds make their journey to our local parks and wow us. Some breed near our house, some nearer the Susquehanna River, which we visit throughout the summer to have an extended enjoyment of these amazing birds. The pause before labeling each bird was fun so that I could try identify it myself. Nicely done video. You just get better and better!

      Dan - I love to hear about these birds being in your area during the summer. Most people are unaware of the warblers which are so small, usually are at the tops of the trees and very hard to spot. The fact that you are able to identify the birds in a split second before the name was provided is impressive! I am getting better at identifying them but it still takes me a while.
      Take care and thanks for watching!

      O. D.- One of the benefits of living in Houston is the ability to visit the Gulf Coast in the spring to watch these birds migrate north. Its a very short period of time but it is well worth the spending the time and effort to be able to see these amazing creatures. The 10 minutes you saw in the video is based on spending ~10 days (8 hours each day) waiting for birds to show up. Even on a good day the amount of time spent waiting can be challenging. I am glad I was able to share with you and others and that you enjoyed the video. Take care!

    Jeff, another amazing video and photos! Sabine Woods is the best. Alan and I are coming to the end of our trip to Ohio and Michigan. The birding has been okay but doesn’t compare to the Texas coast! We hope to be back there soon for spring migration.
    Thank you also for calling attention to the damage caused by pesticides and encouraging people not to use them.

Do you have any recommended places to visit if I was to make a trip to the West Coast? I have been looking at Point Reyes but am open to other recommendations. Take care!

    Hey Jeff. It was nice to finally meet you this year. I was planning on peppering you with questions about editing stuff, but you looked pretty intense. It was my worst year ever for video. Partially saved by getting a little decent video of the Lawrence's Warbler.

    • @Jeffswildlifeadventures
      @Jeffswildlifeadventures  4 месяца назад

      Steve - Also nice to meet you. I thought I got a picture of the Lawrence Warbler but can't seem to find it - frustrating! It's amazing you got video!!!!!! I am not an expert in Video and continue to learn by making a lot of mistakes. I understand a lot more than when I started but my execution is still not great. Sorry if I seemed I was preoccupied. The next time we see each other I will make sure to take the time to answer any questions you have. I believe you may have my e-mail or someone from the group should. Feel free to send me a list of questions and I will attempt to answer them as best as I can. There are a lot of great resources on RUclips but they tend to talk from videoing in a very controlled environment vs out in the field with birds in difficult changing light. I try to learn and apply as best as possible and occasionally everything seems to work but I don't always understand why. I delete most of the video I take because it is unusable. Take care!
