i think what you are talking about is called a steel guitar. it is very much identified with the "Nashville" sound. dobro is pretty much a folk/bluegrass choice these days. steel guitar is much more versatile. note the number of strings vs 6 on a dobro. i love both when played by someone who knows what they are doing. either sounds like crap when played by a hack. this guy knows what he is doing!
I try so hard to like electric slide guitar, I just can't. Once you hear how much better a dobro sounds you'll wonder why anyone would ever choose an electric. Totally different styles of music....I get it.... I just think i'd like this song better with a boot kickin' bluegrass sound.
Just love this song. I think of veterans especially from the Greatest Generation.
Can not wait to see these guys for the first time in August at the Southern Brewers Festival in Chattanoga TN.
Love me some Black Lillies!

there is no Dobro (resophonic guitar) on this track.. What are you talking about?
Oh.
i know exactly what you mean..!
oh, nevermind. You mean it would be cooler unplugged bluegrass style. I think your right. It's a great song though!
