Suh is a huge part of the SW card community and his streams are always worth jumping into if anything for fun and to chop it up. He’s spot on about how much closer knit and non-hostile the hobby really is compared to the sports side. The last 3-4 years has been super fun!
I would add that although the high end of SW Cards is so much better expected value than sports there is plenty of other sets that aren’t in the “high end” tier (Finest, Galaxy, MW) that are worth looking at. For example 2022 Mandalorian Chrome is great value right now. The boxes are around $60-$75 and the potential is way up there to pull high value autos (Pedro pascal, Katee Sackhoff, Roasario Dawson, Gionacarlo Esposito, etc…). 2023 High Tek is another mid-tier set that at that $100 price point I feel is very much worth the rip. And there’s much much more!!!
Overall, I kind of look at Star Wars cards in three phases: Vintage, Mid-era, and modern. In my mind I break it down as 1977-1998 is vintage. So ANH, ESB, ROTJ are included as well as, Galaxy series 1-3 and 96’ Finest.
1999-2015 is mid-era and includes all the prequel sets along with updated Galaxy paper sets series 4-7. I’ve got to say the Galaxy 4-7 sets are criminally slept on and include some of the nicest art in SW as a whole. Series 6-7 in particular have sketch-agrauphs with on card signers including Mark Hamil and Carries Fisher. Just take a look at how much those hobby boxes have skyrocketed over the last few years. It’s eye opening!
Modern I consider 2015-now. 2015 perspectives is another highly slept on set that includes ON CARD autos of all the biggest actors of the original trilogy and prequels. And Suh is right about modern overprinting as the last few paper sets (book of boba Fett, flagship, and Obi wan) were simply over printed. However, even in those cheap paper sets there’s plenty of value opportunity.
Anyways, I could go on and on forever but I’m super excited the SW card hobby is getting more exposure these days and proving that it truly is one of the great value spots in all of card collecting!!!!
    God bless
