How Farms Work by Ryan Kuster is a RUclips channel based in rural Potosi, Wisconsin.
Our mission is to teach those who didn't grow up on a farm what the farming life is like.
These videos show the Kuster family working together raising cattle and crops. We believe everyone who wants to know more about farming should be able to share the farming experience with us and we look to educate the world on many essential agriculture topics.
How Farms Work takes place on ~1,100 acres with around 75-200 cattle at any given time. Four John Deere tractors are currently used on the farm, which are a 4020, 4640, 7600, and 8235R.

It's how I've always known it too with our similar age Massey Ferguson 390T. I've got frustrated with it kicking in when turning on tarmac (like on the road when you need the brake lights so can't bypass it by braking only one wheel), after seeing what it's designed to reduce the chances of, I'll now take that as happy to know it's still working. :) It doesn't half make a bang when it disengages though.

Back in the days of the average tractor being smaller, the fertilizer buggies had built-in assistive brake cylinders that activated automatically from back pressure in the hitch. They were added because so many buggies ended up on the creek after pushing the tractor down the hill. I didn't spot any automatic brake on this buggy.

You were probably a wee bit lucky you did not jackknife. A locked wheel is a recipe for trouble. Gentle application of brakes and concentrate where you are going should be the number one priority. A good learning example for everyone. It can go wrong fast. A few bad bounces on a rough track are far more preferable to a jackknife. I know of two young men killed in exactly the same circumstances with loads pushing then and then their trailers jack knifing on them.

And some other popular farm sites are always showing off their fat wallets and high dollar equipment. and this worries me greatly. If and when the democrats take the White House. One of their first targets will be farm bills. Because they will need the money to support those whom do not feel like supporting themselves. Or go to college for free. I am afraid that farmers showing how prosperous they are. Are just biting themselves in the butt. And will cause another nationwide farm tragedy. Especially for the small and medium farmer.
