What i purchased has markings on both bottom of dish (C 37 N 8) Homer Laughlin Made In U.S.A. and inside of the lid (W12730). I was excited about it only being $1!
Sounds like the Yellowstone (an octagon) shape from 1937. The pattern W127/30 was made exclusively for F. W. Woolworth stores for many years in the late 1920s and 1930s. By the date stamp on the bottom, yours is from 1937. Good find!
Just a fun observation for Fiestaware fans: look closely at the Trellis embossing and you will see the design that later shows up as the "horizon fans" design
